Headset Prob and so on ... - Touch 3G General

Hi,
i also have a little Jade but one thing i doesn't like about it.
When I listen to my music with a headset and i cut the connection with the headset there is no automatic sound volume off so everybody listen to my music in the bus becaus off the speaker ...
Could you tell me how i could fix this problem ?
Best Regards Ulti

Hi,
any idea ?
Regards Ulti

same problem here... i think is a rom setting
we must wait until a cooked rom will be built

I thought it is normal WM feature? That when you cut of headset connection, it continually plays on speaker?
You mean BT headset or wired one?

Hi,
i don't know but i need a solution for this !
Isn't it possible to configure this in the registry ?
The Headset is a wired one.
Mfg Ulti and THX !

Why don't you just stop the music before disconnecting the headset

Have a look at program SPB Phone Suite. It has ability tu set up the profiles like "Normal", "Silent" or "Headset"... Then there are specific rules you can switch on and set up. I think it should be possible to set up rule "Set to Headset when headset is connected" and "Set to Silent when headset is disconnected" or something like this. You can read the manual, play with it and let us know .

OK, I tried it and it works. It has about 0.5 second delay until it switches the profiles, but I think that is ok. It is good if you accidentally cut off your headset connection in quiet place .

Hi,
could you explain us this step by step ?
I've tried it but it didn't work out ...
Regards Ulti and Thx !

I see, it took me some time to figure this out.
I have Czech version of the software, so the actuall spelling may be little bit different.
1) Install SPB Phone Suite.
2) Activate Today plugin.
3) Hold on speaker icon, select "edit profiles"
4) Do not touch any profiles (just yet, you can change them later if you like)
5) Go to "rules" tab
6) Delete all rules
7) Add rule "Choose profile `Headset` if Bluetooth headset is connected" - do not worry, it works with wired one also
8) Add rule "Choose profile `Silent` if Bluetooth headset is disconnected"
9) Go back to Today screen
10) Click the speaker icon, chose "Activate the rules" at the bottom (it should show white `A` in red squere in the left upper corner of the icon)

Hi,
and if i have installed Mobile Shell and Phone Suite already where i can configure ?
"Add rule "Choose profile `Headset` if Bluetooth headset is connected"
Mfg Ulti and THX !

Add Phone Suite to your today screen. Tap and hold on it.

Hi,
now i have it on my Todayscreen but acutally it didn't work out ...
could you explain me every step ?
Thanks a lot !
Happy New Year 2009 !

Just go through this steps:
1) Install SPB Phone Suite.
2) Activate Today plugin.
3) Tap and hold on speaker icon, select "edit profiles"
4) Do not touch any profiles (just yet, you can change them later if you like)
5) Go to "rules" tab
6) Delete all rules
7) Add rule "Choose profile `Headset` if Bluetooth headset is connected" - do not worry, it works with wired one also
8) Add rule "Choose profile `Silent` if Bluetooth headset is disconnected"
9) Go back to Today screen
10) Click the speaker icon, chose "Activate the rules" at the bottom (it should show white `A` in red squere in the left upper corner of the icon)
Let me know which step needs more explanation or which one seems not to work.

Hi,
4) If i already worked with Phone Suite should i re-install it or coud i work with it ?
5-10) If it's no problem could you describe these points detailed ?

How to switch on automatic telephone answering

In the setting of "telephone"is the opportunity to set the device to automatic answering after 1-15 rings. That would be ideal when you are having a BT headset, because you would not have to press on the headset button. However, this does not work. Is there a setting in the registry to make this work?
press the green phone button then go into tools>options
then click on the more tab and youll see Automatic pickup
if not on your wm2003 then get a registry editor and go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER>ControlPanel>AutoPickup
change the Auto Pickups value from 0 to 1
and Ring to what ever you want (mines set to 3)
hope this helps u
gaz
Thanks for your advice. I already performed the actions and in the registry it is all set. However, on my XDA II it does'nt work. I also tried to use the wired headset, because I know from my regular phone that there it only works when you have the headset attached, but nothing , nada.
Any other suggestion?
aint got a clue then mate sorry
As far as I know this option has never worked, its a OS bug.....
It didn't work on my XDA with 2002 and 2003, and it doesn't work on my MDA II with the latest MDA update. Maybe somebody has worked out this thing, in that case I would be very happy to hear about it because I agree, it's a shame we cannot use it.
It seems that an auto pickup is possible ONLY if the wired earphones are plugged in. So maybe it's possible to simulate such situation with some kind of software, or registry changes, but without swiching off the phone speaker and microphone?

BTW Get a '?' next to the Bluetooth item the Qstarz BT-Q880 GPS... but it defo works on my PC.
Found this... http://www.bluetooth.jazztel.es/ - Going to give it a go...
Please download the latest version from the download area and install it. Just execute the installer. Afterwards you will find a new line for the power management on the today screen. Next time when you bond a Bluetooth device there will be an additional dialog after entering the pin and confirming the device name. Therefore you should first remove your device again if you bonded them already.
The "Today" screen
The icon on the left activates or deactivates Bluetooth. The clock symbol switches automatic power off for Bluetooth on or off. When activated (white backround as in the picture) then Bluetooth will be switch off after 60sec of inactivity.
The two battery icons on the right side let you switch between two profiles for auto power off of the PDA and the back light. For example you may switch to the second mode and adjust the settings to "always on" and "never switch back light off". Thereby you can switch the PDA with one simple to "always on" when you are in your car and want to use GPS navigation.
The profiles
Add your Bluetooth device as usual. You will get now a new dialog after the last step:
Please note that currently only the following profiles are available
Headset/Car kit Serial port ActiveSync Modem
Headset/Car kit
With this profile you may use your headset or car kit to make phone calls. Both headsets (headset profile) and car kits (handsfree profile) are supported and you may use up to 9 devices.
Bluetooth is switched on automatically on incoming calls. However it take some seconds until the connection to the headset/car kit is established. If you leave Bluetooth always on there is no delay.
The call is passed always to the device where you take the call. This means if you answer with the PDA button then the built-in speaker is used. If you used the headset button the call will be passed to the corresponding headset.
To pass the call from the PDA to the headset or from one headset to another just press button of the corresponding headset.
To hang up just press the button on the currently active headset or use the PDA button.
Obviously you can only dial via headset if you leave Bluetooth always on. The button on the headset acts like the phone button on the PDA. This means pressing it the first time switch the PDA on (if powered off) and switches to the phone application. Pressing the button again dials the last number.
Serial port
With the serial port profile you can use a device, which emulates a serial port, like a GPS receiver for example. After marking the checkbox you can select the desired port. Just click on OK and now your serial port is ready to use. Just start your application and choose the same port.
ActiveSync
Just mark the checkbox below ActiveSync and click on OK. Now start ActiveSync from the Start menu. There is now a new entry in the menu of ActiveSync to use the Bluetooth connection. Naturally this connection uses data encryption to protect your data.
Note: To use the ActiveSync connection you must identify the virtual port on your PC and configure ActiveSync accordingly.
Modem
I could not try this function because I don't have a Bluetooth modem but it should work without any problems. Just mark the checkbox and click on OK. Now your modem is ready to use.

You probably need GPS software that is compatible with Windows Mobile 5. However, most of them are not entirely updated to support WM5 just yet. I hear some people have gotten Navigon to work, and TomTom with a huge workaround. Destinator PN5 doesn't see the COM ports. iGuidance 2.1.3 works beautifully except for the map-loader not working through ActiveSync 4.x.

Thanks - seen it...
Followed
STEP 4 : INSTALL TOMTOM5
1. Establish a bond with your GPS and select the checkbox for serial access.
2. In the GPS control panel, select the GPS program to 6 and make sure that the hardware one, is set to None.
4. Start TT5 and the GPS settings, select another bluetooth GPS, and you will see COM 6 free. Select COM 6 and close TT5.
5. At the GPS control panel again, now select COM (none)
6. At BT: select OUTGOING port to 6.
7. Finally start TT5 and it should connect automatically. Wait for a couple of seconds and click the GPS settings and you should see it has connected.
Manged to see the com port in Tomtom but would not get it to see the GPS.... I'm still wondering becuse of the ? next to the item under the BT Control pannel...... I'm wondering if for some reason it does not recognise this as a GPS and is refusing to talk to it.
That been said it does have serial profile and connects ok...

Can bluetooth headset trigger auto answer?

Apologies if this is an FAQ, but I've had a quick look and drawn a blank.
I've just got my first Windows mobile phone (Vario II) and one of the things I really miss compared to my old Nokia, is that when I connect my bluetooth headset, I'd like the phone to switch to 'auto answer' and for the volume to be set to max. When I disconnect the headset, I'd like the phone to refert to a 'normal' or 'general' profile.
I require this because I use it on a motorcycle in conjunction with an intercom system, and I need the phone to auto answer after say 2 rings.
Is this possible on a smartphone?
Regards,
Glenn
Join the club mate......
I've been using the Vario2 in combination with a Nolan N-102 with the N-comm BT kit on it.....
I've been #$^&# with it for weeks now and I've made some progression...
First you need a program that allows you to select profiles like Nokia used to have...
I use PocketzenPhone but maybe there are some other(better) programs to do that.....
So then u can swith to a bike profile I've made and enable auto answer....
I've run the cab file to redirect BT sounds to my helmet in stereo (floats somewhere on this forum)
The only thing I can't do at the moment is enable Voicedial from the helmet...
If I press the button designed to start it ........f%ck all happens....
Still working on that but I'm running out of ideas....so any help would be appreciated...

Hi, the reason you can't activate voice dialing from your headset might be to do with the BT Audio cab you have installed to redirect sound through your headset. If the cab you have installed is the most common one floating around then this actually disables the launch of voice dialing in favour of being able to toggle between sound in the headset and sound on the phone (pressing and holding down the call button for a few seconds on your headset normally).
If you look in the registry HKLM>software>OEM>voicecommand, if launchapenable has a value of 0 then it is disabled. You can enable it again by changing the value to 1 but this will mean that your headset button will now not work as an audio toggle feature because it will launch the voicedial software every time.
Not sure if this is the answer to your problem but it sounds like it might be, hope this helps
Am trying as we speak....thanks for the reply....see wat happens...

Well.....Ive got good news and bad news....
The good news is that I can trigger voicecommand now......
The bad news is that MS voice command 1.6 is not reconizing my accent...(dutch)...
So out of 10 tries it never called the number i wanted.....
So I tried the build in SDdialer.....and that one is doing a better job....
However I can't make the sounds to stick in my helmet........
I mean...
With MSVC by pressing the button on the helmet I could redirect the sound to the helmet and get a voicecommand tone at the same time....
By symply not speaking or saying '"cancel" it would cancel the voicecommand but the sound stayed in the helmet.....
With SDdialer following the same steps as above the sounds does not stay in the helmet but goes back to the speaker......
Any ideas????
BTW is there a dutch version of MS voice command?
If you go back into the registry, in the same location as before, check the value that is in VoiceCmdDuration (This is the amount of time the voice prompt stays active for in seconds) .. the audio cab file usually sets this to 86400 (24 hrs in seconds), if yours is low eg. 10, 20, 30 etc.., set it to 86400 and that may sort out the problem.
Duration is set fort 24 hrs....already..
Funny thing is that MSVC is not cutting out and the sddialer is...
Regsetting stay the same.....
By pressing the button on helmet I just change the exe file.....
Only option is to try and get MsVC to work and get use to my voice....
D.
Hmmm booking slow process.....tryed to call with MsVC and now 2 out 2....
Ordered to play media from helmet......worked..
This is only sitting in the livingroom with helmet on.....looks absolutely silly but thats besides the point
P$ssing with rain here so hoping for better weather to go for a roadtest...
So thing needed for me to get it to work...
-MsVC 1.6
-Bluetooth stereo cab
-Regedit from the MsVC topic..
-PocketzenPhone for designing profiles.....however thinking on removing that...and see how that works.....
D.
I am glad that you are at least part way there to solving the problem
I don't have Voice Command on my phone. On the rare occasion I use voice dialling I use the standard SDdialer program but my sound diversion does not revert back to the handset like yours.
I must have changed something on it to get it working but I am afraid I don't know what because, when I was trying to get it working, I tried absolutely everything and it was quite a while ago now so I have forgotten what I did
It sounds like Voice Command is going to be okay for you though so that is good.
By the way, Phonealarm is also another good profile switching program.
Thanks for the replies guys, but I think I may have accidentally discovered my own solution.
On my T-mobile vario II, if I go to the Phone->Settings and select the 'more' tab (need to scroll along the last tab at the bottom of the screen) there is an option to 'Automatic pickup' which will auto answer a call after x number of rings.
I had always assumed this would kick-in even if no headset was present. However, I've just done some simple testing, and it looks like the auto answer only kicks-in if the phone is currently in comms with a headset (I used a bluetooth one but probably the same for the supplied 'hands free' kit).
So this functions exactly as I want it to.
Oh, and Pdanny, for background info I'm using a Nolan 101 (no bluetooth) with speakers and mic installed. These connect to my 'Starcom' intercom (via an old fasioned curly lead) which allows me to hear directions from my 'TomTom' and also take phone calls via the starcom/phone bluetooth partnership. Down side is that the wife can also talk at me .
As I never want to initiate a call while riding, this setup works just perfect for me. I don't need to remember to change the phone setup either before or after mounting the bike. As soon as the bike ignition is turned on, the intercom partners with the phone. Then if I receive a call, it auto answers and I can take the call. Once the ignition is switched off, the phone reverts to normal non-auto answer.
In my research for this issue I came across an app called 'phonealarm' (from pocketmax.net), it was the manual for this that made me try the above experiment. This looks like a neat app and I may still end up installing it as long as it does not hog the processor.
[edit]OOps sorry Nicky, just noticed you already mentioned phonealarm. I'd be interested in any comments you have about this app, good ot bad [/edit]
Once again, thanks for the replies, and I hope this thread helps someone in the future.
Regards,
Glenn
Phonealarm......give that a try thanks.....
Im also going to test with the buils in auto pick up.....
I knew it was there but i assumed that it would ALWAYS auto pick up...
It seems that that is not the case therefore making the Pocketzenphone and possibly phonealarm obsolete.....
I also get all the sounds over BT in my helmet....incl TT
Also... I don't have a wife .......sounds like a perfect world hey???
Keep you posted on the outcome of the xperiment....
Grtz
Danny
Hi knnelg, glad you managed to sort your problem. I always knew the option for autoanswer was in the settings but like you, I had assumed that it would autoanswer all calls regardless of whether a headset was connected so it is handy to know that it only applies when in headset mode.
You asked about opinions on Phonealarm, I think it is a great program. I have used it on my Vario II and my last phone, an XDA Mini S, and it is has always worked fine, no problems at all.
I really missed having phone profiles when I switched to PDA style phones so Phonealarm was one of the first 3rd party apps I ever bought and I wouldn't be without it now Also, Bruce, the developer of phonealarm, is very good at listening to users input and if enough people make a suggestion about an improvement or tweak to the program, he will implement it in future versions which is really nice.
One of the other programs Pocketmax does, Alarmtoday, is useful too.

Bluetooth Pioneer DEH-P70BT vs SPV M3100

HELP
I've had an SPV M3100 for some time and am very pleased with it.
I recently bought a car with a Pioneer DEH-P70BT, which, as the name suggests, has bluetooth capability. Unfortunately, the Pioneer unit can't see my SPV.
The SPV is not listed as 'know to work' on the Pioneer site, but I wondered if anyone knew of a hack which could get them to talk i.e. is it the bluetooth hardware on the SPV that the Pioneer won't see or is it the bluetooth software?
Would be very appreciative of any advice - Thanks.
Hi there, i copy/paste the answers that i gave some time ago to another user here with the same problem than you :
" On Asus BT manager, choose Pioneer (click on it and hold on it , NOT just click) then it will show you a menu , on that menu choose "Set as hands free" or "set as default hands free".
After that, DOUBLE click on Pioneer icon (don't forget that your Pioneer should be set as connection open), then for the first time Asus will ask for "pin number" , then you enter 1111 and also you should tick the mark that say "set as authorized device" ,because if not, allways will ask you for pin code. "
" Did you read your Pioneer manual???
-Page 41 at english manual (section 08 / points 1 , 2 , 3 etc)
-Page 42 "Registering your cellular phone featuring bluetooth.... when it saids "use multi-control" it means that use the joystick turning around OR up/downd/left/right
After doing what is writen on page 42 (even there you can delete "read page 43" your paired phone as many times as you want) you should be able to pair it again at any of the 5 phone positions plus 1 more for Guest (if you fail to do it read the point 4 at page 42 again).
Please try this way first and don't forget to set your Asus BT accessibility as "allow other devices to connect" " all devices"
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT GO TO Start/Settings/Connections/Beam and tick "Receive all incoming beams "
" Did you allready tryied this:
-Don't use the radio's 'register' function. Go to connect and set it going then go to the pda and add a new BT device with the code 1111.
What you have to do:
- First enter the phone menu on Pioneer.
- Then choose a place where you want to register your phone (ex.: phone1, phone 2 etc.)
- Press center on pioneer and select CONNECTION OPEN on Pioneer.
- Then search for the Pioneer on Asus, then choose the Pioneer and enter 1111 for the code.
- After that, pioneer should write Phone registered. (Sometimes it will not work for the first time).
- Than you can connect your Asus to the Pioneer. "
" Try this :
1- At BT Manager Click and Hold on Pioneer icon and on the pop up menu choose "delete"
2- Then at botton rigth soft key "menu" (click on it) choose "paired devices" . On the screen that you see now ADD REMOVE ,choose Pioneer and click on REMOVE.
3- Now on that screen click on ADD , click on SEARCH (is the litle icon on the rigth of "Device" )
then CHOOSE Pioneer . Enter 1111 and click "OK" at the very rigth top corner.
(Don't forget that Pioneer should be set at connection open)
4- It will give you the message "Pairing ok"
5- Then go back to BT Manager and CHOOSE at the botton left soft key "new" , then on the screen that appears click on hands-free/Headset setup (just click on it to get it on blue color selected)
Then at the botton right soft key choose NEXT.
Click on Pioneer icon that you will see
Enter pin again and it should be connected. "
Hope it helps like it did before.

Sound Notification on bluetooth device connect

Hi All,
(I've posted this on another forum - Whirlpool - but no answer yet - this forum is probably the more apprpriate one)
Its probably really easy but I just can't figure this out.
I would like my Windows Mobile Phone (its a Sony X1 but I don't think that really matters) to notify me when my bluetooth handsfree device makes a connection (and disconnects).
The only visual notification I get is a little headset icon but you need the phone keypad open to see it.
I was hoping it could play a sound on bluetooth device connection and disconnection.
I looked in Sounds & Notifications but there isn't an option. I tried the "Connection Established" event but this does not seem to apply to bluetooth.
Any help appreciated?
No replies?
Does this mean it is not possible?
You could try some Bluetooth software. Such as Persian Blue. It MIGHT do what you want. Just a suggestion. No idea if there really IS a software that includes such a feature.
You could also try a polling mortscript that will check for the value of HKLM\System\State\Hardware\Handsfree. If this is 1 and was previously 0, then give a message (and the other way around).
