import contacts from google contacts

how can i import contacts from google contact to my android phone?

Not sure what you mean... do you have a phone that doesn't say "with Google" on the back? If you have a standard G1, it should automatically sync your Google contacts to your phone Contacts/Dialer app.

uncheck your contacts and check the box again, you should then see the sync symbol

Did you use another program to backup your contacts and restore them? My Backup Pro is known to break contact syncing if you use it to restore your contacts.
If you still have contacts in your GMail account and none on your phone, try a wipe. Once you've logged back into your account on your mobile and you have WiFi, enable that to speed up the synching. Should work fine.
You can on GMail export your contacts too however I've not tried it myself, most likely it would be a csv file.

settings, applications, manage applications, then find gmail n clear cache & data!

I have the similar question.
I don't like to use my gmail account by another than then my other mail accounts.
I deletet the settings like in the post above, but when I enter the gmail app, under accounts, the account is still listed.
I want to delete it - how can I?

Prevent Syncing Multiple Accounts

I have two Google accounts setup on my Android. I only want one of the accounts to sync contacts and calendar with Gmail, but it automatically syncs both accounts. How do I prevent it from doing that?
When I try to delete one of the accounts, it gives me an error saying "This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults..."
If I do a factor reset, will it remove all my current contacts, calendar, messages, app, etc?

Try this:
Go into Settings > Accounts & Sync > click on your google account you don't want to sync anymore, untick the options for syncing.
I'm not sure if it will allow you to not sync but I can't see why it shouldn't

There is no "checkbox" to prevent syncing. If I tap on it, it starts automatically syncing.

Stop motoblur from pulling facebook phone numbers?

Is it possible? Its pretty annoying having a phone number list of well over 500 people... I just want my PHONE contacts to be there, not facebook. Anyone know?

I think all you have to do is remove it from "Accounts". It will still allow you to login to the app, but wont pull all yoru contact info. I had this issue with my Hotmaill account and that is how i stopped it.

If you want it to keep syncing but only see your google or sim contacts, you can change who is viewed in the contacts app by clicking the top where it says "Contacts: All contacts" and picking a different menu option. (this will not effect the contacts part of the dialer)
Alternatively you could add some contacts as favorites. And those could be more easily found in the Dialer since there is a contacts menu.

Contacts > Menu > More > Settings
Uncheck facebook account
At least I think.
There you can check Phone numbers only as well to remove all contacts that do not have a phone number associated with them.

Also if you set up linked accounts in the blur accounts section you have to delete all of them except the actual blur account.
The Social networking/messaging and a few other widgets won't function though.

I guess the work around right now is to remove accounts, create a list with everyone on it, then add back on facebook. Whenever you view contacts, use the new list you made.

I was just using it to sync pictures. I removed the account and downloaded syncmypix from the market. Free and easy.

Also, another "fix" would be to go into contacts-> menu-> settings-> then selecting "phone numbers only". This wouldn't necessarily get rid of every Facebook friend from your contacts list, but since most (at least of my friends) don't seem to list their phone numbers, this should cut down your list dramatically.

I tried the above tricks but in the end the only way I could find to get rid of them from the Dialer contacts (which has no options at all) was to remove the account.
Thanks for tip on pics sync, that's all I wanted too. The actual Facebook app and Facebook widget do the rest.

[Q] How to remove all contacts?

When I first signed into my google account from my nexus 7, it automatically syncs my contacts/gmail/calendar. But I don't want to have my contacts on the tablet. I've already disabled sync for google contacts. Now how do I delete the contacts from the tablets all at once? In the people app I can only delete one at a time...

Go to Settings> Apps > All and clear data and cache from Contacts and Contacts Storage.
