Xperia GPRS/ Edge not working - XPERIA X1 General

Help.... I have tried everything and can not seem to get the GPRS/ Edge working on my X1i.
I have created the connection as my telco specified, I set the GPRS authentication as CHAPS as required. But the GPRS/ Edge still does not work. 3G/ HSDPA works ok though which is strange. Also using the same settings on my N95 GPRS/ Edge work ok.
Any ideas?
The settings I used are:
1. Operator Name & Country : DSTCom & Brunei Darussalam
2. Network Name : My ISP
3. Modem Name : DSTCom Internet
4. Modem Access Point Name : dst.internet
5. Username : "internet"
6. Password : "internet"
7. Domain : ""

Problem with GPRS with Orange NL

Hey all,
I'm trying to get GPRS working on my XDA II (Qtek rom).
I made a new (modem) connection.
name: Orange world
modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access point name: internet (as provided by Orange NL)
No username, password or domain
No ip
Pri Dns: 10.250.255.188
Sec Dns: 10.250.255.188 (as provided by Orange NL)
Finish
Press the antenna and tap on : connect to GPRS.
It connects and I get the same arrows when active syncing.
But when I open an Internet page or try to logon MSN it wont work...
Anyone an idea?
cheers
Are you sure you spelled 'internet' no capitals at the acces point name?
You could try to choose server assigned Ip address.
Another thing you could check is: settings> connections > Gprs setting> PAP authentication and class 10.
Yes I spelled internet, lowercase
Rudegar told me to only use the access point and not the DNS servers.
And it works!
Thanks
The GPRS Settings:
do they need to be: PAP or CHAP authentication?
do they need to be: Class 8 or Class 10
and whats the difference between them?
i've read class 8 everywhere

XDA and WAP

I am using a t-mobile sim in and unlocked 02 XDA my boss got bored with as he could not get it to work
now with my sim I have a wap account but just cannot seem to find the connection settings that relate to the following:
1. Profile Name T-Mobile - new Connection name I Suppose
2. Dial up number +447953968999 - Cant Find
3. Bearer (or Access Type) to Data- Cant find
4. Call type ISDN - Cant Find
5. Connection Speed (or Baud Rate) - this is on all Conncetion settings
6. Set the Connection Type to Continuous - Cant Find
7. Set IP Address to 149.254.1.10
8. Set Port to 9201
9. Set homepage to http://wap.t-mobile.co.uk
10. Set linger time
11. Set login name to user
12. Set password to wap
13 Set Security to Off
I have installed EXWAP 2.5 but cannot seem to see most of the settings
You need settings/connections, then you need to set up a new connection for work.
In the Settings/Connections/Work/New as there is no connection in there at present it gives the Cellular Line, Cellular Line(GPRS), IR and Hayes Compatable Modem as the Conection type to create I naturaly go for GPRS may be I should got for Cellular Line

Anyone got MMS working using Vodafone UK and an XDA II?

Hi
I've recently unlocked my XDA II and am now using a Vodafone SIM. It works fine for making calls and for browing the net using GPRS.
However, MMS won't work (it seems to download message information OK, but not the messages themselves).
I've amended the WAP settings from the original O2 information, to the following so that in 'My Work Network' I have a connection setup as follows:
- modem type = Cellular Line (GPRS)
- APN = wap.vodafone.co.uk
- username = wap
- password = wap
And, having clicked on 'Tools > Options' within the MMS application, I have the following setup:
- Connect Via = My Work Network
- Retrieve Messages Immediately = checked
- Size Limitations (sending) = 200k
- No. of attempts before aborting = 3
- Download on home network only = unchecked
- on the Server tab: Gateway = 212.183.137.012 and Server Address = http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
Hopefully this is enough info for someone to help me out with this!!! It used to work fine when I was on O2, so I can only think that I have some incorrect settings.
Thanks.
BKB
I went through this some months ago with Vodafone 'cause I couldn't get it to work either on my Qtek 9090. Problem was, neither could their teckies. They were all very helpful (large business account helped here no doubt) - but no solution. I gave up !

No internet on 3G issue !

Greetins,
If I turn off the wifi on my Hero, my mobile won't be able to browse or sync data at all using the 3G network even when the mobile Network option is enabled in settings.
Am I missing something, it is working on my Yuky N97 ( stay way from this phone it is horrible )
Is your APN setup correctly for your carrier?
Regards,
Dave
Here is my problem, the APN menu is empty, I tried to take the configuration out of my old Nokia N97 but most of the information seems not to match what's in the Android.

Hi, Thanks alot for the setting you provided! I did the setting for delhi mtnl prepaid and it works like a charm I followed exactly as you mentioned and changed mum to del and used (gprsppsdel) not (gprsmtnldel)..
But there is no 3G connectivity. In the cellular network (on my HTC HD2), I could find only MTNL GPRS (there is no option to choose 3g). Anyways, I am atleast happy with the gprs connectivity as I can update my mail box and weather report. Thanks alot....
Hi Ruzan, you should make your setting available outside this forum (I dont know how...) but I see lots of people desperately looking for it....Day before yesterday I changed flashed my rom, and I google search for two days, and finally I stumbled upon your setting today and to my surprise, it was your post that help me earlier too...Thanks again
