My voicemail-emails have attached GSM compressed wav files.
Of course that's good because uncompressed files would be much too large, but how can I playback those files?
Can I somehow download additional wav codecs for the pocketpc or is there a good player which can do it?
You only get those MP3 file players and nothing else...
I've tried BetaPlayer (pretty good divx player) which supports wav files, and I get the message "Audio Codec not found".
Problem solved
I just noticed that the WAV file was added to my pocket outlook notes since I put it in the My documents folder.
It can be played as an outlook note.
However, strange that pocket windows media player and other players don't support it.
windows media player dont support any non ms format apart from mp3
and this goes for both audio and video
dont know the format so i cant help i would prob search around for as many players i could using google looking for that feature if i were you
otherwise i suppose you can find a converter for the pc wihtout too much problems
Hi all,
how can I donload a free sw to convert audio (such as mp3, ogg ecc...) into WMA?
Get iTunes from Apple.com. Converts to any format you like and it's free. It's also an awesome replacement to Windows Media Player.
the best converter
the best is DBPowerAMP (www.dbpoweramp.com)
you can almost convert any sound file to almost other sound file of diferent class.
WAV to MP3, MP3 to WMA, WMA to AIFF, etc etc
You just download the main system and download the codecs for what you need to encode/decode.

You could use the newest Windows Media Player. Just connect your phone to your computer, and go into the WMP library and select the files you want WMA'd and Sync them. It will then convert and copy them to your phone automatically. Quite handy.
Of course.. Nothing can beat Microsoft.. WMP 10.. Amazing.. COnverts anything and improved features like selecting the quality in kbps and also converts video.. Simply amazing..
Only one issue, after synchronizing to yr mobile, wen u delete an item in mobile, it gets added again wen u connect again.. Maybe thers some option to make it delete in PC which i din find yet or WMP 11 will have it..
I tried power video converter for videos but WMP gave me the best clearity in the lowest size...!

Carty..
Hi All,
I have recently been getting an error message in Windows Mobile Media Player (Windows Media Player) on my XDA Mini S saying;
"No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection"
And i cant seem to figure out why. I cannot play any videos or sound clips on my mobile, and i cannot find an alternative way to view video or sound files on my XDA.
Is there any chance anyone knows where i can download a new versionof Windows media player for my Windows mobile 5 device? or does anybody have any resolution for this?
Thanks for your time
I do not think there is a newer version to this problem but I was recently having trouble with WMP and I downloaded Pocket Player and have really liked it.
Doesn't seem to have that many bugs, has a today plugin (if wanted), is quite easy to use - maybe give it a try!
Where did you download Pocket Player from? and was it free etc... because i have searched on www.pocketgear.com and it is $19.99
To be honest, i really wasnt planning on paying for a Media player, however, if i cannot get the media player on my phone fixed, i will have no choice!
Thanks
Have you tried cold booting? Or TCPMP?
Yes PocketPlayer does cost you; I understand not wanting to pay for a media player especially since one that is supposed to work comes with the phone - i just couldn't deal with WMP.
Try TCPMC - its free and it may not have all the organizational features of WMP, but does play DivX files

you'd better try another media player such as RealOnePlayer (supports video and music) if you are interested you can try this...
I have played WMA files on my MDA and I thought on my Wing. However, yesterday, I could not play any WMA files on my wing. I continually get an error code that it is not recognizable file. 'Player: Audio codec (Windows Media Auido) not suported by the player.)
I have checked all file associations and it still will not play. I have tried TCPMP 72RC1 and 81RC1. Is there a better player out there? I don't really like Windows Media Player 10 Mobile for Pocket PC 10.3. Any suggestions or fixes? Thanks in advance.
That is probably a question for the developers

Thanks, any suggestions on a different player for the wing?
Hello,
Since I've seen the Media Xperia Panel on the Xperia, I'm looking for a good alternative "finger friendly and eye-candy" media player.
I've tried CorePlayer an Pocket player, but in comparision with the Media Panel on the Xperia they fail in many ways.
Anyone working on a good alternative/stand-alone Media Panel port? Tried to install the Media Panel witch the Blackstone panel-interface, but that does'nt work.
Any ideas for this one?
Try Pocket Music.

That's what I mean with Pocket Player...
Oh, then nothing better than CorePlayer/PocketMusic atm
try S2P http://ac-s2.com
I tried installing TCMP but got a crash message. Anyone know what's wrong?
If its the crash error you should check this post - it has the link to download the FIXED TCMP..

BTW the version v0.81 does not work with the new windows mobile.
There is only one player i like on WM which is Pocketplayer http://www.conduits.com/products/player/ not pocket music.
S2P would be good if it was smooth, but its impossible to accuratly select albums because its so jumpy.
media players
Coreplayer is solid as far as any others there is a bunch on this website www.freewarepocketpc.net
How about Nitrogen player? (http://code.google.com/p/microfi-nitrogen/)
