i new here, so i was thinking what will be the optimum setting for coreplayer for Blackstone. the best setting that gives the best bench mark
there is a sticky thread discussing this very thing

Has any one got a link for a freeware program to do throtterling of the CPU as in not always running at 400Mhz? I've seen a few more complex ones that you have to pay for but they do all sorts of things? I am thinking of giving it a go and the whole point of Intel developing the XScale chip is because it's able to Scale down the speed (Hense the name) this saves a lot of battery life apparently...
Any ideas?
Downclock your processor will not take a lot saving your battery life (about 10%).
Use XCPUScalar for your Xscale cpu,it let you choose 100-200-300-400-472 Mhz mode.

thanks for the reply unapproachable2kx I will take a look into that program... Great work...
Hear is a direct link for any one that would like to look it up as well
http://www.immiersoft.com/
does the program expire at all? has any one done any testing of just very basic PDA work as in address lookup, phone number lookup and that sorta stuff and seen how much extra battery like they can get out of there PDA?
Is there any programs that can automaticly scale the speed of the CPU acording to CPU load that is freeware? Will Microsoft be implamenting CPU scaling in the Second Edition of there 2003 OS? still can't belive that its not a built in feature if the CPU's where designed to scale acordingly...
Does no one else know of any others that can scale the CPU speed according to usage? ass well as the software being freeware?
The Xscaler prog is not free.

Thanks for the link xda-rocks, Have you had any trouble using this software on the XDA II, I see they give you a bit of babble about you may have to do hard resets and stuff like that.... Have you had any problems as yet... I have never used any CPU throterling software and am just wanting to play around with it a bit..
Do you notice a extended battery life if you use this software at all?
No probs so far, but haven't really had time to try it - only just installed myself.
Hi Guys,
Pretty impressed with this site, the dedication and commitment everyone here has.
Just thought to pick minds....
Which is better of the 2 clocking apps : OMAP (of which I could only find ver 0.2) or BatteryMeter , gives the best overall performance vis installation file size and continous use ?
Your thoughts please
AD10
I think they are the same thing, BatteryMeter provides the nice user friendlier interface that invoke OMAP (or you mean OmapClock?). For small size, OMAP is a command line simple tweak etc, but maybe difficult to set up, esp if you want it to be still around after suspending your phone. So, probably for start, try the Bmeter.
Don't you mean BatteryStatus instead of BatteryMeter?
Anyway, BatteryStatus, despite the name, has also overclocking features and has the advantage that the settings remains if you perform a reset. As far as I know, Omapclock does not.

Thanks guys,
Yes I meant BatteryStatus and OMAPClock.
I have tried both, and stuck to BatteryStatus - offers more information and seems to be constantly supported by Kai.
OmapClock and batteryStatus read different clocks
I used OMAPCLOCK to set the clock to 208 MHZ, however batterystaus, even not using its overclock function reads it as 221 MHZ instead.
Which one to trust???
Tks
I used OMAP for a while, but I was able to overclock max 246, now I use batterystatus and I OC to 286 without any problem. (Also BS has many more features over OMAP)
I was browsing inside WM6 registry keys for Camera on my Ipaq 514.
\\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Pictures\Camera\OEM\VideoProfile
So here you can find 3 different profiles not just that you can select in Camera/Video options Quality MMS 176x144.
I have not much experience with WM6 but every not so ordinary user is asking himself, can this option be tweaked to make some bigger resolution videos.
1.3 MP camera is in my opinion not a limit to do at least 320x220, only if OMAP proc running at 200Mhz cant take it!
Different encoding codecs?

@elder T.... can you clarify what hardware acceleration you are looking for ? I have used both versions and can't immediately see any different settings between them; I am aware however that there were a number of bug fixes, etc. in the later (paid) version.
The Toshiba Core Player has a feature that uses the SnapDragon`s hardware to do some job like what DXVA does in Microsoft Windows. Its alot smoother when rendering high bit rates encoded videos.

Where does this show up in the menus please ? I hadn't spotted any non-standard items anywhere, but may just be being a bit dim

Many thanks - have just had a quick browse, but don't see a definitive clarification - mostly seems to be supposition; there is however one comment by BetaBoy (Core Player developer) which states "On speed differences.... There may be some speed improvements as the TG01 version of CorePlayer has some of our v2.0 improvements." I understood that some of this had also been incorporated into v1.3.6 (which superseeded 1.1.3) also - but in any event, seems to be very dependent on the video format/codec/size concerned.
Erm... I tested it with a `H.264 Video` `AAC Audio` MP4 file, CPU setting is at low and it drop less frames than any other version of coreplayer I used so far.
"It's presumably able to make use of the Snapdragon GPU in the same sort of way as WMP and HTCAlbum can. The normal version runs only on the CPU. I guess it may not be the GPU it's using, but in some way it is specifically tuned to the Snapdragon chipset and able to use parts of it for processing which are not accessible unless you license the ability to use them from Qualcomm."
Shasarak's comment might be true.
I got the Toshiba version now and very happy.
if your desperate for the .cab, re flash the original orange version and the coreplayer.cab is sitting in the windows directory, along with the other ones like maps etc
I'm new to the forum, so sorry if a thread like this has been made before, I'm assuming it has, but I was just wanting to know what I can do to make my HD2 a little bit more cooler such as in mods, changes, hacks, etc. the only thing I have is Cookie's Home Tab.
I've seen some ROMs that are amazing but I'm just unsure if some are safe or reliable and won't give me bugs or crashes, so if any one can show me some that are really good with no problems that would be great. Also, is it easy to switch ROMs or go back to stock easily?
Lastly, this is my 1st ever smart phone so I don't know of any good apps, are there any you guys recommend?
I find switching roms easy. Just make sure you back up all your important info and keep cabs of important/fun software.
For hacks look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629388
but stay away from HKLM/System/StorageManager/FATFS/CacheSize To: 65536
it tends to mess with other things within the phone.
Bsb Tweaks is nice too.

Flashing new roms is a must!!!! If alone just to remove all the tmo garbage from the phone, then everyone uses a phone differently and there is a rom out their that will work flawlessly for what you need it for. So first thing you need to do put in the HSPL3 and flash a cool tmo HD2 rom. The HD2 roms will not work on the TMO HD2's. You must find a rom that says for TMOHD2, or specifically says for tmobile HD2. Now after you find the rom you like the best that best suites you , heres a list of software I could never live without.
1. Coreplayer - This will play any downloaded video on the internet in full resolution with no dropped frames.
2. Google Maps
3. Mortplayer and AAC and WMV plugins - Great music player that will play about anything crystal clear with great bookmarking system.
4. Youtube
5. PS1 Emultator - HD2 plays PSX games better then a psx, runs almost everything I've tried in full resolutions at 60fps. You can even use a ps3 wireless controller with it or a wii-mote.
6. GPSRadar - This downloads radar by gps location, you can use the GPS or manually enter location.
7. Endkey enhancment
8. File explorer Etention mod, but I don't' run this anymore because it causes me to crash if I end it trought task manager.
Not sure of more but If I think of any I will let you know.
