email display on TF3D - Touch HD General

Does anyone know if its possible to have your emails display like the texts do in TF3D rather than in that stupid envelope?

hmmm interesting. I cant tell you if it is possible but am also interested in this.

This would be great, especially as it would solve the lack of a "mark as read" button in TF3d. Anyone have any ideas? I'd even consider something that forwarded all my emails to my text message account, in theory...

I would also like to see this as the envelope is stupid.

i think the envelope effect is cool. they just need to show more text or add features by adding buttons in the big unused space

I don't mind the envelope, but it would be better if you could tap it to remove the paper, rather than actually then go into the dull looking mail client.
I'd be very interested in having something that marks them all read once I've looked through them in TF3D...

A double tap will do it (ok, it's one tap more, but less painful that going to the mail client anyway...)

Nothing happens when I double tap mine? :-(

For me the e-mail opens as usual no matther if i tap once or twice.

are there any news to this topic?

you can use my solution: i used a reg tweak to put messaging as my right home screen soft key and removed the text message and email tf3d tabs altogether as their jut eye candy, but beyond that just useless...

hmmm, I have already assigned them to contacts and calendar... :-(

I quite like the envelope and can often read enough without opening it. Thus I would like the menu to have added options of "Delete" and "Mark as Read". plenty of room for it. Is this a possible tweak?

SMS/email Questions (htc home, palm threaded sms)

I have htc home installed. I love the way palm threaded sms works, but it gets really annoying at times. is there any way to set it up so that when i hit the text button on htc home it opens JUST my sms inbox, and when i hit the email button, it opens JUST my email? right now, it opens the main messaging window, as well as the text or email window whenever i hit either of those buttons.
also, when palm threaded sms is installed, my text message inbox opens itself about every 10 minutes on its own, does anyone know how to stop this?
if not, does anyone know of another sms program? the one that comes on the mogul is really slow and ugly, i dont even care if its threaded, i just want something faster and possibly better looking than the built in one

Load up your emai/sms ap, menu -> tools -> settings untick "display account picker"
well that solved the problem of it opening the picker, but it created another problem. now the email icon on the htc home plugin just opens text message inbox as well. is there a way to set what those buttons open? Also, is there a way to delete this "Outlook E-mail" account?
thanks for your reply isix

Assigng PocketCm to open from Windows Notification Popup?

Right now, I have PocketCM assignged to my right softkey in order to send my text messages. No problem. What I would like to do, is set up the program to open when you get the notification of a recieved message. Much in the same way that Flexmail opens automatically.
Not necessarily opening on its own though, but when you click the right softkey after recieving the text, the menu pops up and asks, Call Sender, Save as read, Dismiss, Delete, or Open. How do i (can I?) set it up so that selecting the Open option will open PocketCM? Would I be correct in assuming that it's a registry tweak?
If the question has been answered already, which I'm almost sure it has to have been, I apologize. A search on this has brought up topics, either not nearly related to what I am looking for, or topics so old and/or convoluted to be of any service to someone who isnt already familiar with the subject matter.
I know it's mostly irrelevant in this instance, but I'm on a Tilt running Alex's newest Ultralight. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Same Question I Asked, I Was Told It Could Not Be Done, But Id Like To See What Everyone Has To Say...
From my end I dont see it being impossible, if programs like Flexmail & Sunnysoft Contacts can do it. Hell, Opera Mini can be set as the default browser. I think it just takes more knowledge of the subject matter than we currently have, lol
well if i have pocketcm minimized it pops up when i receive a message

This is true, but I'm a memory nazi who closes everything when I'm done using them. So while your way sorta "works", I'm really hoping to get it done the other way, lol.
Edit - Typo
I would like Pocket CM to open directly to the person's theaded sms window when i receive a message. Right now Pocket CM opens, but it's impossible to tell who sent it. SO then i have to use the notification window to open the default text message program.

rubbish: if you have "show text count on" the person who sent it is at the top of the list and the text count say 1/x
although i do agree it would be nice to open at the thread and even if pocketcm wasnt active at the time
I agree with above, the way PocketCM doesn't handle new messages was a deal-breaker for me. Everytime there is a new version I install it because i really like the look and feel, but i always take it off a couple of days later due to this issue. What's the point of having threaded SMS if you have to open a slow program to view the thread each time a new message comes in?
Esp now that WM 6.1 already uses threaded SMS. My Touch Dual supports flick and scroll already, so I guess the only interesting thing in PCM for me would be the nice transitions.

Ok, am I missing something? I have a sprint mogul with wm6. When I get a text message with window notification I do not have a "Open" option when i press the right soft key. i have Call Sender, Save as Read, Reply, and Dismiss. It's annoying when I have a long message that doesn't fit in the notification. I have to dismiss it and then go into Text Messaging to read the whole text. There is suppose to be an "open" option?

Better Management of Notifications?

I get a number of notifications for tasks that are due, calls to attend, new emails, other appointments etc but they don't seem to be very nicely handled on the Touch HD.
I had an Excalibur before and that presented a screen with all the notifications listed that you could delete or postpone.
On the Touch an icon appears, the you have to select another alerts icon, then you get one alert shown at the bottom of the screen and when you have dealt with that, the next one is visible.....
Have I missed something native or is there a better notification manager application?
TIA

+1 this is annoying
why did they remove the usual popup and event-based softkey remapping
+1 same here, there should be something better for handling those popups
I thought i was the only one. Is there some way that we could fix this issue?
phonealarm
Have a look at pocketmax phonealarm which handles all notifications in a very flexible way.
Well pocketmax is not free, and as the notifications were pretty ok in the stock OS... I think there must be a way to get rid of the roadblock that prevent these to happen as usual without adding another 3rd party
Same here, it is ****ing annoying to press 3 buttons all over the screen just to turn alarm off.
Someone posted on Friday I think a tweak to settings to allow the pop ups to appear better....
start>settings>Sounds&Notifications>Notifications (choose Messaging: New e-mail message) then check the Display Message on Screen box. Repeat for Reminders etc.
Still not perfect cos you don't get the message on screen if it was activated whilst the device was locked.

Nice one (and so easy.... )

SMS read delay

Hey guys,
As I'm sure most of you are aware... the touchflo 3d interface on the Touch HD has an SMS message window... now when you receive a message, it obviously displays it. However the "new message" icon appears on the touchflo bar (at the bottom) still while you have the message up for a few seconds. This is quite irritating since it usually appears for longer than it takes for me to read it, so I have to wait for it to dissapear then tap the message to reply in order to not have a new message icon forever!
Anyone know how to change the time it takes for the new message number to dissapear? Ideally I'd like it to be instant as soon as the text is displayed! I'm talking about the little numbers over the SMS icon on the touchflo bar....
hope all that made sense!

i second the motion --- i would like to have a solution for this as well! any info from anyone on how to modify the touchflo3d interface for this, would be greatly appreciated
Add to this the same issue with unread email. I hate to have to open inbox to mark the item read. Another thing, can't delete email from tf3d, but can delete sms. How to delete email without openning inbox?

There was a possible temporary solution to the email problem.
Try using "Safe" Inbox Extender
NOTE
This is only a temp solution for email and not sms until a proper solution is found
As always, you have been most helpful. Thanks Fallen Spartan! However, what would be more useful would be the ability to mark any/all email read without navigating away from tf3d email tab, i.e. without opening inbox.

This would be the perfect solution, however I haven't seen this anywhere
This is also on my list of annoyances for the email thing.
With the SMS I find it dissapears after about 3 or 4 seconds, so I just wait until I hit reply.

HTC HD2 SMS default - any way to change it?

Does anyone know if there is a way to make HTC SMS messaging default to 'All Messages' (ie. display the list of 'Conversation mode' texts) rather than bringing up the last message when you select the SMS tab?
I'm sure I saw something about this on this forum a long whil back, but after half an hour searching tonight I can't find anything.
Can anyone help?
Cheers
anyone??

You want to show up the complete HTCMessaging directly in the Tab? That is absolutely not possible.

To clarify, what I want is that, when you select the HTC messaging icon on the tab slider at the bottom of the screen, rather than displaying the last message (incoming or outgoing) and giving an 'All Messages' soft menu item at the bottom left, I want something that displays 'All Messages' straight after selecting the HTC messaging icon.
You might be right and it may not be possible, but I live in hope.
I would love this functionality as well....nothing doing though?
You can't change the behaviour of the tab slider, but you can add the "Messages" app as a quick link... this way, when you click it on your homescreen, it takes you directly to all messages...
