TomTom 7.910 - Touch HD General

Hello
I installed TT 7.910(9185) with Western Europe 815_2024.
It works, but its sooo slow! The Map lags when I navigate very much. Like the CPU is to slow. I tried also small Maps like "Alps" and it lags too. Is not bether.
But on my TomTomOne V2 (266MHz, 32MB RAM is working very fine.)
Anyone have a Idea why is so slow when i navigate?
Thank You

sometimes lags are due to too much POI on maps
i use the same configuration as you (navigator & map) and i didn't notice any lags

Well, I use my speedcams from www.scdb.info as POI.
I live in Switzerland and there are Speedcams not allowed. TomTom dont provide any speedcams in Switzerland more...
But Im very happy with www.scdb.info on my OneV2 wich i use every day in my car. I drive about 1500km per week, And they get me once with a mobile speedcam^^

check on GPSPassion.com
i think speedcams are available for free

Thank You.
But I only can use speedcams as POIs in Switzerland.
Otherwise im there: http://www.ipmart-forum.com (Allways newest Maps, Navcore and more ;-)

I read that the maps of version 8xx needs nav.core version 8.
You need 725 version maps with TT 7.

Hello
All Maps with 815_2024 works also on TT 7.910(9185)
the 2024 are "lite" Maps without IQ Routes and ALG.
To use IQ routes and ALG you need NavCore 8 and 815_2003 Maps.
I was drive now a little and it works fine and smooth!

Yes of course it's better, you can use the newest v7 maps and you have mapshare.

Thanks! I hate to be a pain but do you have a link to tomtom on the tomtom website - I cant find it on the site :s
TT7 is not available on the TT website.......
.....it is available on this website (search...) as it has been ripped from various devices. The 7 series maps are available from TT website, and these alone are worth updating from TT6 to TT7. As I understand there is only limited reverse compatability with TT6 (specific latest versions) and the 7 series maps...
Hope this helps....
Here you can get TT7.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401679
I'm happy with tt7 except for the lag
No voices in TTN7
I installed TTN7 on my Diamond, but I cannot select a voice. TTN7 does not 'see' the voices.
Does anybody know how to solve this?

you can download voices from tomtom home or directly in your tomtom on your diamond. goto "wijzig voorkeuren --> spraak voorkeuren" and choose "download stem".
Something else... is it possible to get bigger POI icons?

hi, I just received my HD.
I Installed Tomtom 7.910.985 with Western europe v8.15.2003 but my problem is , i have a huge lag in my position! at least 4 ot 5 sec! I had less with my touch pro and none with my diamond!
I already tested the different gps config like using other nmea gps and selecting 4800, 9600 and 38400 bds but no change, still the same lag!
Did you experience the same lag?
Thanks!

tell you tomorrow!
hi, so tested with the recommended settings (no poi on maps and map .2024) and these are the results :
still lag but much less than before (max 2 sec), voices are accurate so still telling me that it is a software problem rather than a hardware problem.
does the other softwares like igo or navigon also suffer for this lag problem?
It's snowing......................here!
using : TomTom_7.910.9185 VGA Black and map TomTom Western Europe 1GB 815.2024
up, nobody has gps lag?

SNAP Navigation software help

Just received... my old Tom TOm 5 isn't working, IS working but can't find GPS receiver!
I am using TT 5, the same used with Wings and Excalibur, with external GPS!
Solutions? Have you tested some other navigation software?
Try Sygic McGuider or Garmin Mobile XT. Those should work .
Sygic Mcguider... the only way is to buy an (expensive) SD pre-installed version
Garmin XT, expensive "should work"? I can't buy a "should work"
Sygic doesn't wok!
Installed, looking for fix.... error, program crash
Hi , it seem copilot 7 its compatible too
Route 66, ver 8 works flawless. The fastest fix i've seen on htc phone! Even indoor...

Almost. You can use 95% of the menu's with the trackball and/or keyboard.
Only a few menu's, which usually are only used rarely to configure the device, can't be selected without FakeCursor or SPHelper.
So after setting up TomTom the daily use doesn't require any tools, just the trackball and keyboard!
exactly, what kind of version u use?
The problem i have with my snap is that i cant select another country with keyboard or trackball?
Do you use a specific key for that?
i'm using tomtom software
Confirmed, full version of McGuider 2009 is working, altough trial is not...

Thank you,
Nick
Garmin Mobile works!
Small inconvenience: moving around the map with the trackball is slow
My mobiler
Hi,
I used my mobiler to get tomtom7 to work properly.
Couldn't change the country with the Snap.
With my mobiler I changed it.
Now I can use it like tomtom shoul.
Jody
For those of you that cant get Navigation software to 'find' your GPS install MSGPSID to set your port.

Sorry for the looong delay, I am using the R66 WM version. The only BUG is the GPS setting installed. I discovered, after installing TOM TOM, that the the TT signal bars aren't displayed, even in full reception.
I foud this is a well known bug related to Route 66 installation
But TT works, even without the signal bars

what is your version of tomtom ?
TomTom-Home
Hey guys,
I got tomtom running, but can't get a connection to tomtom home. I've got not only my maps there (ok - can hack my own maps to get them running), but also ordered the traffic and speedcam services.
Has anyone an idea, how i can get a connection to tomtom-home? The fault can't be an incompatibility to WM 6.5. Had it on my Diamond 2 running. Has HTC built in a barrier for this feature, to help CoPilot?
Tomtom simply answered to my mail - sorry - incompatible... Great. I hope, they would set my account free to a new device, if i get a connection to tt-home.
Excuse me for my bad english - hope u'll get my point ;-)
TomTom.7.916.9189
Works for me, with 835 maps.

GPS Navigation

HEi!
I install android 2.3.1 on my hd2, and now i have one simple question and request. Can someone tell me what is now the best navigation for my phone(hd2 with gingerbread), and when i can download it?

I second that.
At least try Navigation (comes with Google maps) as I've found it works perfectly and is free. You just need a data connection when you first plan the route.
If you don't have it, download Google maps from the market.

can you give me a link for this iGo navigation download?
On My HD2/Android, I use ....
CoPilot 8. I purchased the USA only today for only $4.99 from their website.
My dual boot phone now has CoPilot for both operating systems. It works more smoothly on Android, and I'm really happy with it.
The navigation app that came with my Android distribution (little blue arrowhead pointing up) also works just fine, with its integration into Google Maps.
try ndrive it works nice
copilot is sweet, and navigon also, but i know that gingerbread struggles with navigon, other ROMs dont.
he he he... the one which has the map for the country you're in and your language
(and if someone knows an Android nav with a map of China NOT in chinese... i'm interested)
For me: Igo
For my wife: Garmin
So who's right?
IGO is working?

navigation works perfectly on my cm7 rom. the only bad issue is that i can't use it abroad because of the need of data connection. Co-pilot is also nice and requires no data connection, but it takes alot of space.
