Hey guys... before I begin, heres what I have installed.
tcmp with various reg edits
Wisbar Advance2
Wisbar Advance Desktop
Null Keyboard
Here are my questions.
1. the volume slider no longer adjusts the system volume at the today screen. how can I fix this?
2. I was looking to have a big icon/object for the "Lock" function. How can I do that using Wisbar?
3. TCMP has enabled a secondary function for the 2 buttons below the screen--the left one for the "start" menu, and the right one for "close". After installing Wisbar, the right button still closes, but then after closing, it brings up the contact list, which is the primary function of that button (with a short press). How can I undo that?
4. The notification screen that pops up when I get a text msg, etc, is gone!(ever since Wisbar) I just see the icon on the top, but I want that screen back! how can I do that?
5. What is a good program to manually assign all buttons on the system to whatever function I want? (i.e. lock, changing the 2 buttons function, etc.)
Any help would be great!.
Hi all, uhm I'm having a little problem with my X1.
I can't assign any buttons anymore in settings -> Buttons
I can actually ASSIGN the left key or right key, but it will reset back to old settings when I do that. Now I have assigned:
Left key: turn screen
right key: today screen
And I also now see 4 options named ''knop'' (Buttons), but I think they didn't used to be there in the first place.
Anyway, whenever I change the right or left key (mostly the right key because I'm very happy with the turn screen assigning) to another option. And press 'ok', the button will(!) get that new option. But whenever I restart the device (or I guess even when time will last) the right button will reset to the 'today-screen' setting.
I don't know how all this could have happen, but I think I installed something wrong. I did install TF3D hd (manilla) as a panel. And after that more programs, I guess somewhere in that time this button assignment setting got cracked up :S
Is there anyway to get rid of the 4 ''knoppen'' (buttons) and be able to change the left and right key properly again?
Regards and many thanks to the one(s) being able to help me!
It's the Touch Flo software which restores the softkeys, a search would have solved this for you.
Thanks for your reply.
So you're saying that if I uninstall Touchflo3D from my X1, I will get my normal settings back without difficulties?
Regards
I've searched like hell, wiki and all, but can't find a way to do this.
When I click the signal icon in the top bar, the system status screen appears, which is fine, but then if I click the signal icon on that screen it closes and then a notification icon pops up to show me the signal status in a bubble.
Is there any way to go straight from the system status screen to the comm manager? rather than the really long way at the moment?
I'd be really happy if there was a third party app which took the system status screens place with more detailed info and comm manager in one.
hope someone can help.

I don't know if it will solve your problem, but I simply added "Comm manager" as shortcut in the start menu. (2 clicks to comm manager)
I found that if I mapped the CommManager to the 'press and hold' call accept (green phone button) in the 'buttons' section in settings, then its nice and easy to load and it doesn't then matter where you are in your phone you can always get to commManager quick and easy.
I used to have this button mapped to use the camera, this is so I had a hardware camera button but the delay is too much to live with for me.
Hi,
Thanks for the tips, I know you can just assign comm manager to a button, but I was hoping there would be a more technical way to use the system status screen to go to the comm manager.
I already have on of my buttons mapped to rotate.
Thanks

Use Ae button plus (i am using it to turn on-off wifi with a double press on the vol up button)
or
edit the registry so you assign the commanager to your left softkey @ homescreen (you can use HD tweak or Advanced config tools).
instead of doing that to get to comm manager why dont you just
press home
slide to settings
load comm manager
its like button, slide, tap, less than 1 second and you can do it with one finger or your thumb while holding your phone in the same hand
tap start , tap comm manager. your there

Personally I feel 'Tap Start , Tap Comm Manager' is probably the best route to take but if you want to map a button to comm manager use AEB PLus
For example if you want you could use the Volume Up button to run Comms Manager as well as volume
Simply set Single Tap to run application and Double Tap for volume or whatever button & configuration you prefer
You have a choice of buttons to use and 3 option for configuration i.e. Single Tap, Double Tap & Hold Button
Well thanks for all your suggestions they are good ones, but as always me being very picky, I was kind of hoping there would be registry hack to allow me to do it from the system status, in my opinion this wouold be the more TF3d integrated solution allowing me to go to the comm manager just as pressing the volume button takes me to the volume controls.
It just a little illogical the way it shows the notification bubble instead of taking you to the comm manager.
What would be really great is a more advanced syatsm status screen showing all the connection info on it, such as wifi signal strength and status, data status
all icons with the ability to click on and go to comm manager.
I'm guessing this is probably just me, but I think that would be great.

Start-Settings-System-Touch-FLO, untick the Show System Status screen checkbox.
At least that cuts out one unnecessary step..
hmm I don't really think that qualifies as solving my gripe as it just disables the system status menu and that doesn't fulfil any of my wish list.
Ok well if I can't get it to work with the touchflo system status screen is there a way to change what program is launched on the click of the task bar? That way I might stand a chance of making or finding an app that does what I want.

doesnt the new htc notification thingy replace those bubble pop ups with a full screen finger friendly screen?
i dont know cos i havent installed it...
then clicking on the icon would take u to take screen to load comm manager
I downloaded WKTASK, you can find it on this site, which places an icon of all open programs on the task bar. Open Commmgr the first time and then leave it open on the task bar. Next time you need it one tap brings you there.
wktask looks cool thanks
Is it possible to manually trigger the auto lock feature (when inactive) with PIN entry?
press start menu->left softkey (Lock)
Thanks for the help
Okay...sorry guys...I didn't understand that fully Got the start menu but "-> left softkey" I'm totally lost. Are you talking about the softkeys along the bottom of the Touch HD (phone, home, back, end call)??

Soft keys are the words at the bottom of the screen such as Contacts or Phone etc.
Alternate to softkey is Start>Lock (then set lock to use a pin) and then long-press the drop call button and on coked ROMs that should bring up a menu which includes lock screen -or the menu can be changed to automatic lock instead (through Manila settings).

I have flashed the Dorimanx's new ROM and seen the soft key at the left top conner.
Link to Dorimanx's new ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166948
How can I accomplish this for other ROMs? An App? or some Setting?
Thanks in advance.
You can try Button Savior, you can find it in the Android Market but you have to be rooted to use it. The app puts a icon on your screen that stays on top of everything. You touch the icon and it opens up more buttons on your screen that will stay for the amount of time you select or permenently if you choose. It gives you a exit button a plus button ( this expands to more buttons being a phone, camera, and search buttons), a menu button, a home button, and a lock screen button. I used it all the time as it really saves wear and tear on your external hardware buttons and it is so easy to use and always available on your screen.
thanks for the quick reply. i ll give it a try
If the "other" rom is based on CM7, you can simply enable a setting in (Settings > CM7 Settings > Tablet Tweeks > Enable Soft Keys & set your own)
Otherwise, follow the post above yours
thats exactly i am looking for
