Hello,
I have a CDMA Diamond with Sprint. For my girlfriend's phone, I unlocked it and flashed with the newest Juicy (3.6) and finally installed the "TuxApple" theme by DjOuBhAa since she loves penguins. However, what I would really like is for the standard Juicy Manilla but with the penguin sliders and pictures. Is this possible? The theme takes away some of the functionality we need for example in the Weather tab -- all the states are removed and a set list is installed (all unusable by me).
So... I guess the main question is can I revert back to stock Juicy (alltell with the white flip clock) theme, change the background to the penguin -- and most importanty just change the sliders and such? thanks in advance!
this is a lot easier than you think.
get manila editor on your computer.
get the theme file on your computer.
change the .theme ending on the file name to .zip
then unzip to a folder on your computer.
use manila editor to look at the files and pick out the ones
you want.
then put them on internal storage(4gb one)on your phone.
use total commander to transfer them to \windows.
soft reset and just the files you put in will change.
sounds harder than it is trust me.
take off the theme first of course.
thanks for the fast response.. it does sound hard but i will trust your advice and give it a shot!
cheers
I've got that similar issue, and I'll give that a try as well, thanks. But, what he was saying with the weather seems to be a bit more complicated in my case. I switch between themes, go back to default, or whatever and my weather countries and states are not going back to what they were.... basically I need the "United States" to be in the list and its not, but it was before playing around with themes. How can I fix that?
Edit: Just wondering which files to not install with a theme to keep the weather database untouched as well...

I have tried to search and find what to do to install a theme that has icons, and cannot figure it out. Do I need some program that everyone is using? Also on dialer skins how are those installed?
Do skins kill battery life or use alot of system resources?
Thanks
What theme? If its HTC home, you install the .cab file from the phone or sync the phone to pc and double click .exe.
If its a .tsk file, Put the file in the windows directory of the phone then go to today screen and select from there.
Skins dont use a lot of system resources UNLESS they are actively doing something( S2U2 for example if you install a moving gif as your wallpaper) as they are just being used instead of the originals.. Cheers...
yea, u need to be a wee bit more clear as to what you want, you're probably new and dont know the right terms, so maybe if you posted some pics we could understand a bit better what u are trying to achieve.
this is the style im looking for http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=51534&d=1190401691 with the big clock and some icons below. I think that I will need a plug in to show the icons. I installed a tsk theme but it only changed the color of the top and bottom bars, but did not show the large clock or icons like that one. I saved it to the memory card, not within a folder and I was able to browse find and install it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry Im New
thanks,
Nicholas
that big clock is the htc home plugin, which you can download all over this forum, or at www.pocketemu.com which incidentally also has another program called htc home customizer, which would be the easiest way to customize the home icons. It may not have that exact theme you are looking for, so the best way to get that theme is to ask the person who posted that screenshot

Ditto. Welcome to the addiction...I'm lucky to keep the same clock and icons for more than a week...
I hate to ask but I'm looking for a simple black theme that is somewhat glossy - not the dull looking black theme under spb themes. What I'd like is just to have the task bar on top (where the start button etc is) and the bottom bar (where it says contacts and something else) in a glossy rounded button look.
If it's not too much trouble would someone here be kind enough to make up something like that? I'd do it but I'm not sure where to start (in the registry etc) or with a program. I did install one particular program and it screwed up my phone enough that I had to hard-reset the device to get it working again.
Thank you for your help.
EDIT: I'm sorry, i posted the wrong file. you can download the the correct HTC Diamond Black Theme here. Love it. Sorry
try a search for "glossy black bars" or something like that, its here somewhere
try cyclic bars theme in this package....searching (themes) would have easier than asking ....We have wonderful search options in these forums and can also use google to search.
Thanks everyone for the help - I do appreciate it. I'll do a better search next time.
How to open the diamond theme posted?
Sorry to bring this back from the dead - how do I download the diamond theme since it's a zipped folder. I don't see anything like a .tsk file when I extract all the files.
Do I need to run it in active-sync and transfer (then entire file) to the windows folder and open it in file explorer to run?
I'm still learning the more intricate portions of this device...
well, its not a theme but clock and other images for HTC Touch Home
ah - that explains it then. I'll check on Pocket PC themes and see if the Diamond theme is there.
My fault i posted the wrong file, sorry. i edited my post.
Thanks aguas - I appreciate you taking the time to repost it.
Now that is a beautiful theme - exactly what I was looking for.
I made a new vista theme for TF3D. Download over the link in my signature. Inside is the new comm manager tab and the german calendar from d-man. If you want to have the calendar in your language, please download the calendar locales file in your language, please rename the title in Calendar, like he disribed it here. Don´t copy the other calendar files (they are all inside) or change the order of numbers. Disable TF3D, copy all files with Total Commander to windows and restart. Hope, you will enjoy it. Two times during the copying comes an error. Don´t worry, all needed files will be copied allright.
Here - under the pics - is the file, for to set the words "Verbindungen" to "Comm Manager" and "Kalender" to "Calendar". Copy it in the downloaded folder with the manila files or directly to your windows on the diamond, replace the original file. Keep this file for later themes on your pc.
Very cool!
i see screens and it looks great!

No Nisse, i don´t have fixed it. I think, it´s the same as in the settings tab, so it has the same font color.
But with your help i changed a little the design od the background. Thx for the compliments.

Sorry ... i posted fi´ve minutes to early... the new desktop variation was not inside. Now the changes are [for today ] complete. Please download the changes again...you can see the changes also on the screenshots in the link.
best theme EVER! However... landscape version for Touch Pro doesn't work=p
Could you fix it please?
Thank you so much!
Thank you very much
Sorry, i fear, that i can´t help you with the landscape version. I have only the diamond. What´s wrong, when you use it? Maybe, i find an answer or somene other here.
New changes
I am learning...so i must post every day new changes to the theme, don´t worry:
Today i am ready with the windows-tsk-file (Black & Blue), i integrated the diamond today picture and a better looking volume control. You can download the file in the upper entry.
Much fun.
Edit: Only new represantation (post 1)

Hi Neo XL, I have just been trying your theme, it looks great, Thanks. However I am having some trouble adding custom cities to the weather database now, not a big deal. I Have removed the bricks and the bottom curtain and put in a custom home screen wallpaper with the analog clock from the french orange rom. The no bricks looks a lot better I feel they clutter up the screen a lot. I also think the theme would look better with a transparent slider like the one made by pamas which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430287. Just one more point, how about second level icons as well for example in the settings panel or the photos page? An example of second level icon implementation by stevedpl is seen here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427503 it's a nice finishing touch. Again thank very much for the theme it is obvious a lot of work went into it.
I also made myself a single cab file to install it all using quick cab which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400221, with the correct english corrections in it, that way it is easier should I choose to remove it!
Thanks for the feedback.
I don´t have the weather problem...don´t know, if there are more users, who have the same.
You can further shape the theme by your taste...i like your screenshot. The 2nd level icons i didn´t style in my 1st theme, but in the later themes (Pirates, LOTR and - tomorrow - Spiderman).
It´s is a suggestion, even to do something like you want.
You can post your results here for other users, so all can benefit of them.
Hi Neo XL, the transparent slider is the big one for me, I just love pamas's slider.
Definitely sticking with your theme for now, Thanks a lot for your work, a great share.
No idea why, no reset but just powered on my phone and the butt ugly original slider has resurfaced, I will re-install the manilla files to dispense with it, just not sure why it should suddenly reappear, the theme, with my own customisations has been solid all day. Man I hate that ugly slider!
do you have this i a cab file and have you it in dutch ?? look nice thx

You must deactivate TF3d, then copy the slider files to windows, activate TF3D, and it should go. I tried another slider today...no problems.

No, i don´t have dutch files, but it´s easy to edit the manila from the 1st post. Open it with the editor and search for this lines:
<Page Order="10" Name="calendar.page" PackageName="HTC" Title="Calendar"> and
<Page Order="11" Name="communications.page" PackageName="HTC" Title="Comm Manager"
Replace the Titles "Calendar" and "Comm Manager" with the words of your own language and save the file. Copy this file to your windows on the diamond and reset it.
I don´t wanna make a cab, because for editing and updating this is an easier way.

What slider did you try, I have yours back at the moment and very nice it is too, with a pure black theme, but when you start to add wallpapers you can't beat a transparent one.
I tried the slider from my spiderman theme.
Hi everyone,
This is my first ever cab so I thought I'd share it with you all.
I love the TF3D interface but my Rhodium came shipped with a black theme with green highlights. Green has never been one of my favourite colours so I decided to change it to blue.
I dug through all the manilla files & windows images and replaced every green image I could find with a blue one.
I'm not too sure how if this will work on other devices... I would assume the manila files won't be a problem on any device running TF3D but I'm not too sure about windows image files... Please use at your own discretion
Feel free to let me know if I missed any
My thanks to chainfire for CFC GUI - this application made my life so much easier
Please Note:
The images for the green colour scheme are contained in both Manila and the Windows directory images.
If you install the manila cab only, you'll notice many elements are still green, like the On/Off selector on the Communications Tab and the highlights in the dialer.
I'm not too sure why it was developed this way, but I have decided to split my cab up for those of you who don't wish to overwrite your Windows files.
I've also included a cab for the stock windows files in case you want to revert to the stock theme. You can revert the manila files by simply uninstalling that cab.
Enjoy
mmm, nice, I'm install it, but tab slider is in top of the active icon.
in Opera doesn't work, as is as, explorer, task bar, an all windows scheme, but is nice... good job!

This theme just replaces image files. The highlights in explorer etc can be changed by using Max TTM as these are not images but a system setting
I would include this is the theme but I don't how how...
Thanks for the compliment though, I'm glad you like it

I have the same issue and I was disappointed. But when I restore the backup (without hard reset) I did just before testing, icons appears and blue modifications are kept ! See image below :

Some of the changes remain after uninstall because some are images from the Windows directory and not in manilla files... I had a similar problem when installing another colour scheme theme from the forum. I will upload a cab tonight with the default files which should take you back to the green scheme.
I'm not too sure what you guys mean when you say "tab slider is in top of the active icon"... perhaps it's an issue with your existing custom theme. I installed this on my stock manilla theme and all works fine. Can you post a screenshot of this?
All I've done is open up the image files and changed the colours. There's no other configurations in my cab, just existing file replacements
I've uploaded the stock Windows files - check post #1
I also split up the theme cab into two parts, Manila files & Windows files so you can choose not to replace your Windows files if you don't wish to
Tried this on my VZW Rhodium over my stock theme. Now my phone dialer won't work, I have giant green circles around every selected tab, and the radio button dots now have small "phone" images inside them. Phone is utterly useless, and will require a hard reset, since your cabs cannot be uninstalled, and I can't install the windows stock cab.
Epic fail, man.

You have a branded Rhodium so naturally this will be a problem.
A lot of other people, including myself, have installed this with no problems at all.
Please do some reading on what you can and cannot do on YOUR handset before flaming other member's contributions.
Thanks i love it. hope its work at my Omnia 2
Its installed sucessful at my device without error.
but i dont know how to change color scheme
Hi idrak3,
This theme/colour scheme is only available for Manila. Are you running a custom ROM on your Omnia with Touch Flo? If not, I'm afraid this won't work for you
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if it's possible to remove the top bar from manila 2d (aka TouchFlo) which shows the network information? In my opinion, it's just a waste of screen space and looks bad.
I know you can remove the network information with M2DC but I was wondering if anybody knew how to actually remove the top bar itself.
Cheers,
Jennan
Yeap, this is possible.....use attached transparent topbar. Put it in windows folder and relace original (with total commander). First copy original to another file in case you want to go back.
Thanks Frank, you're really helpful man
Appreciate it, worked like a charm
Thanks a lot for that too!!
Any chance to change the bottom bar also?
Have tried a lot of things but you can not remove or replace by a transparent version.....seems hard-coded in Manila.
Though you can change the color (mine is black). Or the trick I see in some themes is that you make an exact copy of the theme as is behind bottom bar and copy to windows so that it appears it is gone. But in actual fact is still there. If your theme is complex or change it frequently will be more difficult/more work. But it can be done.
Let us know how the result.....
Thanks so much ;]
I don't understand why you would use Total Commander for this though :/ I just did it with File Explorer and it worked too
It kind of supprised me I could just replace it from with file explorer; Aren't these images stored in the ROM? Then why can I replace them with File Explorer?
this is great. i was just complaining to the wife about how unsightly that top bar was.
thanks very much
Seems a bit wasteful to make a whole new thread for this - does anybody know how to replace the icons in TouchFlo? I've just downloaded a bunch of SenseUI icons in PNG format and want to replace the cartoony manila 2d ones.
Any ideas?
Thanks
For more info on removing top bars etc...see this thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688313
