Hello there image editor pros!!
I have a simple request.. I am in dire need of an alteration to an image.
My customized taskbar is almost complete with the exception of my signal icon.
Attached is a 32X32 - 32bit signal icon. I need this resized to 16X16 - 32bit depth.
I have tried to resize it using IcoFX but the image, because it's being resized to a smaller dimension, always comes out blurry and grainy and just doesn't look good on my taskbar.
Below is the example of what it looks like (notice the fuzziness):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And this is what I want it to look like (notice the clearness):
I'm just talking about the SIGNAL ICON ONLY not the bars!
If one of you design editors could edit this image for me, successfully, I would be very greatful.
Please do not ask me why I didn't do it myself, because believe me - I tried a lot and just wasn't able to edit it down myself.
Also, the reason I can't use the 32X32 - 32bit icon is because I am using a CDMA version of the HTC Touch Diamond and it does not read from the same .dll file for the icon.
Any other questions, just post them.
Thanks in advance for any of you who respond.

Ok after researching and locating UITweaks to change font colors, menu colors, etc.. i was wondering how the hell do I change the icons for cell signal, audio icon, and connectivity icon (G/E). Thanks in advance.
With shortcut creator you can change the icons http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=275577
If you want to change the icons in the start bar (top bar), it depends on the app. Easiest routes may be through a signed mui, or cooking your own rom containing custom icons.
Have a read through this thread for some ideas:

I've made an app to allow you to dynamically change the icons to whatever you want, but it's not being released right now.

anyone happen to know what dll the signal icon, volume icon, and connection icon fall under or perhaps where they can be found in the registry? I tried using the above programs but cannot find out where the required files are located.
bump...................
Why not dump the rom, extract the icons, and check out which contains the relevant images?
I've done it but unfortunately don't have the filenames at hand.

I've just finished going through all of my pictures and wallpapers cropping and editing the ones I wanted for the X1, so I figured I'd share them with everybody. All Images are 480 x 660 which i find fits very well into TF3d (portrait of course)
Perhaps this can become more of a wallpaper thread, If you've got a cool wallpaper to share please post it here and mention what size/application its for
Download all 50 of my wallpapers HERE

Sorry, didn't see that you had posted here too.
Download a program called Gimp, its a free image editing program similar to photoshop just simplified. Open the image you want to resize and select the image tab at the top of the screen, then in the drop down menu select scale image. Then all you have to do is change the height and width values to what you want and your done.
I've played with WAD and i like the Manila Theme by Chriscsh. I also like the Diamond Digital Clock.
I found this by twolf, but i dont like the weather thing.
OK, here we go: i installed the ThrottleHTML, modified the start.html with the Flashfile inside twolfs Flashclock for Throttlelauncher. Now i have a working Diamond Clock in WAD. The only problem is, when you touch the clock the the flashplugin menu shows up
I'm not good in HTML or Flash programming, so maybe flashgod twolf has a solution to force back the plugin menu, please!!!
1. Install ThrottleHTML
inside the zip
2. Copy the Files in Diamond Clock(start.html and horas_24.swf) into /windows/ThrottleHTML/ overwrite existing files.
3. In WAD choose Author Menu /Plugins/Manage/enable ThrottleHTML)
Now you have the Diamond/Throttlelauncher Digital Clock
I'm no developer, I only grab things together and mixed them with my lousy skills...
Thanks Saschaaa71.

Hello, nobody/nothing?
Please...?
i dont have vga device so i cant help but i'm sure if you search you will find these icons.....
its impossible to make small icons big without loosing quality....or create yourself or search im sure it exists.
or if its so important maybe there is some rom with these icons built in you can flash it copy icons then flash rom you want....
For all my fellow Samsung Focus brethren... here's my latest transparent effect wallpaper. The preview image is for illustration only. You have to use the one in the zip file, unzip it, and email it to yourself. Then download it in your mail, open it, and use as wallpaper. When you slide up to open, you will notice a transparent smoke effect.
Know issues with transparency:
1. Does not work with pin lock set
2. With certain apps open (like email for instance), you will see the bottom soft buttons through the wallpaper
If you don't want the transparent effect, just use the jpg image preview below (right click, save image as...)

NICE really coo! thanks!
Really nice all paper. Any chance you can tell us what you did? Is it just a transparent png?
The way I did it was using transparency and layers... there are a lot of ways to make cool effects. Look at this thread here:

This happens to be my favorite and what I'm using now (but not Focus specific):
