I'm no cook, so I wonder if any cooks here could do me a favour and port a PT Opal Rom to and elfin?
I'm reading and trying to learn how to do it, but the truth is that I'm to scared to mess up my Elfin and thats why i ask you to do it.
Hope that somebody will have the hart to help me.
The rom was released here:

Well, you are lucky, the great chefs in this forum are several steps ahead, if you look around in the forums you'll find many ROMs that are already Opal-like or "Opalized". Please see the Elf upgrading forums, search for a ROM you like and try.
Also in the Opal wiki they have extracted items from Opal ROMs
I'll refer you to my favorite ROM, called Tess:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415880
But as mentioned you can choose the one you like the most.

Hi, I decided to study how to cook my own rom, can u pls link me to some guide.
I really dont know where to start. But I promise I will be a good cooker, and maybe in the near future you will enjoy my stuff, cause I will do my best to do so
in the artemis section search for "artemis diamondish 6.1"
tht is the easiest ROM kitchen i have come across so far
happy cooking!!!!!!!!!
appreciate your help, thanks bro
Sorry guys im not going to finish this rom, the main reasons are i got no time to do so, uni and work take almost all my time and the other one is i lost interest in my blue angel, soon il be buying a touch pro so ive decided not to finish my rom, i apologize if anyone got exited about it but its just that i have lost all interest in making the rom , again sorry for not meting your expectations, and lasty i want to give a BIG thanks to swampy for guiding me into the right direction and providing me the tools for doing so, swampy you got my respect and thanks.
Regards
Rafyvitto
Ok guys ive ported or at least i think i did , the newest 6.5 build to our beloved blue angels..but theres a problem the rom is not booting its stays in the bootloader screen, my guess is that something is wrong in the imageinfo.bin or maybe the rom is to big hence the OS wont boot up(although the output .nbf image is exactly 32mb in size), i need help from senior rom cookers xplode,sun_dream,swampy so please guys if you see this post hit me up with a pm so you can help me figured out whats wrong in my rom.
note: Ive removed lots of things from the original rom like welcome center,IE8,widgets,office and a bunch of other crap that makes the rom heavy, don't worry il release them as cabs
And also i wanna thank bepe for his rom tools, xplode/sun_dream for inspiring me on taking this rom cooking journey ;D
Anyways stay tune guys.
Way to go Rafyvitto!!!!
Is it a true release or just a hex edited (aka fake) release? Reason I am asking is because I have seen a load of new builds in the Raphael forums (all of them within one weeks time)
In either case, I am looking forward to it!

Hi mate Have a look inside your XIP.bin and you'll find a little bit of space were you can put some OEM_Driver files "there's not much but can save you some space in rom image, or use explode or sundream XIP.bin as "base xip" but dump "it" and look inside and then remove the extra files you find from your OEM folder and make use of the ones in XIP.bin

We all want to see you growing up as a ROM developer, our best wishes.
Maybe...
Maybe you need to port the xip with other tool, there must be the mistake... ask personally to xplode i think he uses a different way to port, i mean manually. i have saw a thread with this kind of xplanation but i cant remember where...
Good luck man! nice to see you trying to cook.
Im trying to cook 6.1 on Elfin i did two roms now nothing to be surprised of course i need to know so much more!
Hi People...
I am completely confused... I want upgrade my HTC Viva to wm6.5, but all the forum of Rom have many issues.. i am not able to understand which Rom to install..
can anybody help me out...
Thanks
do like what we do... experiment.
Hi all,
I'm a bit like don_yogesh, confused!
These toys are not so easy to update... when u don't know how ^^.
A fair bit of reading will be necessary !
Cheers.
these roms id say are not worth experimenting...for windows mobile 6.5 there are no need of certain applications like htc notifications and htc volume changer<tht doesnt work> i simply dont know why in roms they are there....if they made a rom clean of those ill be more than glad to experiment
It's been long i have not posted in XDA, i have just purchase the New VIVA and i am quiet interested to know, which cooked rom is serving well to VIVA users ?

You can try PDAVIET wm 6.5 rom v25 (just go through the december's 2009 post) I find this one is functioning well in my viva t2223. Just some minor bug, audio manager doesn't work and it drains battery.
Or you can wait and wait and be left out of experimenting...which is the joy to all these moddings...
Moreover, this is not paid site which host only fully finished/bugless softwares, HELP by trying out the roms...mods and report bugs and in return you learn more and more.
Also, post any good softwares/games/themes which you have come across in the appropriate sections. Sharing is the keyword here.
Sorry if I offended you. be cool.
My greets to the mods and senior members.

about the guy that sayed to read read and read.... THATs what im looking for... WHERE IS THE FILES TO READ???
thanks. no offense for anyone please...
So, what file do you have??? you must collect all the files and using a software you can cook your own rom. The problem is that i don't know if there is just a software to cook compatible with omnia2.
No body is interested!!!!!!!

Nobody is going to help you, as I have been searching for the same info. Everybody points to modaco but nobody there want to share this so called secret. There is no visual kitchen which can cook for Omnia II, there are certain tools which can be used for this purpose but still dont know how to integrate Sense 2.1 or 2.5 into that rom. Hope somebody can help us........but I doubt as nobody is interested in our Omnia II.
If you find anything........please do share.
CDMA or GSM ???
Try the GSM omnia2 8000 thread at MODACO
or
CDMA Omnia i920 thread at MODACO.
Both phones look the same but their insides are very different and rom's can't be exchanged very easily.
So It's not that no one cares your just not quite clear enough in your request.
The info is there just not in this thread....at the moment.
its all about baby steps (I love that movie!)
first cook a stock rom, then a custom rom, then dabble in a sense rom.
It doesn't just happen over night, but many many sleepless ones.
Hey guys i have bought my new Touch Pro 2 mobile.. and so i am going to use my I-mate jam for making new ROM's for jam.. Request to all Magician ppl to help me to build rom what you want... you can tell me
1. Do you want a clean rom..
2. Rom with TouchFLO 2d..
3. Anyother..
will be waiting for your replys..
cant make the decision alone.. so thought of making a post..
Q: Do you know how to build magician ROMs?
If yes, please tell me how. (I was making few roms for friends kovsky, so i know what and how, but i have not found any way how to build for my magician)
A clean to the bone 6.5.3 ROM would be nice...
Or even Android!
P.S. I`m in for testing!
Android + 1, or 6.5.x with manila 2
I think andriod is to slow for the magician, and it would be to hard to make it for one person.
Windows mobile 6.5.5 is really nice. But I heard it is hard to unpack the magician roms. There is not any kitchen released. Only cotulla has succeeded making an magician rom so far..
Yes, but he is selfish and doesn't want to share his work with us. Lazy too. I respect his work but nothing new is posted since 2009... Like he is left this magician project...
Android sounds interesting.
I'd even like to help in any way possible, posted a message in the general > questions just today.
I'm doing a study informatica > software engineer, and for a schoolproject we have to write an android application ... don't have €500,- for some fancy HTC phone with android on it, so if we could kick my phone back to life (even if it is slow) it would be awesome.
Saying that, also like to add that i have enough sparetime to help you out with some testing, reading, writing/coding I'm not really experience with mobile phone OS ROMS so it is a good challenge and probly a nice sparetime project
I would that its a rom like htc touch 2,
The start button at the bottom
I fear also that Cotulla no longer is working on the Magician ROMs.
I hope I'm wrong...
A new ROM should be fingerfriendly and stable with all Radio-Software-Versions.
I love my Magician ! A solid Case , you became all Repair Parts for low Price and you can change them self . I would be happy , if someone could make a kitchen, with a chance to change the language . Good luck !
Mod. edit: as of now not dev related, moved to general
?
hey
i want to ask when the rom is finished ?
Please let me know
?
Does anywhone now when the rom is finished ?

are you kidding me? what do YOU CAN MODIFY?
Tell me that you are not modifying Cotulla's roms, that is not cool dude.
Respect his work and wishes, either create your own rom or get permission from the big man himself before doing it.
DO NOT WORRY i DO NOT use Cotulla's rom!!!! i do respect his great work... at the moment im working on WM2003SE but i guess that same or similar procedure is used on WM6.1/WM6.5.... so i juct need to figure out way to build new rom form files that i have extracted...
any info is appreciated....
i havent found any kitchen for Magician, and kitchen for Himalaya or BlueAngel does not work on Magician... so sad...
ok that is great news, now I am sure there are guides for rom compiling available around here. I will have a look soon and report back
I cooked my own ROM based on Cotulla O5. but Cotulla doesn't allow it for the publication.
if you want you can publish your rom on www.techz.in
