Bluetooth Fix - XPERIA X1 General

I think I’ve solved the Bluetooth problem that everybody seems to be having.
After changing this registry setting below, my Bluetooth have not switched off on me once.
Hope this helps
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\]
"Bluetooth"=dword:00000000

Looks like it could definitely help! I'm imagining this is translated to something like "Do NOT control the power state of Bluetooth".
I'll make the reg change, reboot, and report my findings after a couple of days. I usually ran into the Bluetooth switching off problem after having Wi-Fi enabled.
Thanks for this!

I have no problems with enabling WI-Fi since I applied this reg setting. I’ve also noticed that if you switch your Bluetooth off and back on again the reg setting that is applied defaults back to the original setting, so it will have to be set again

Thanks for sharing as I am experiencing the same problem of Bluetooth turning off every time I reboot my phone.
Sent in my phone to the Local Service Centre and they reflash the ROM but still encounter same problem.
I even bought another X1 to try it out and still same problem so it is confirm that it is the firmware problem not just my phone.

That also makes sense, i suppose it's just a status entry then...too bad. I just hope that the eventual fix from SE is in a .cab package so that we don't have to reflash. My unbranded ROM is running sooo perfect right now...with the exception of this very common issue!

It seems that the Bluetooth does not always stay on as I experience it being turn off if I go into the Connection/Bluetooth/Mode menu.
Does that mean that we do not go into the menu to check on the settings then it will not be turn off again?

Mine just did the same so looks like we’ll have to keep away from Bluetooth setting :/ have to reset reg setting yet again

Yes, really hope that the next ROM upgrade will resolve such issue as I heard that the SE Team already know of this bug.

backlight

im just wondering after a while of not using my phone the backlight gets reverted all the way dim so i cant see anything on my phone. Luckily i have it on my today screen and i can see just enough to fix it. is there any way to fix that perm so it doesnt do that.
maybe see this thread - doesn't contain a solution, though:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=51415
I had a similar problem struggling with PocketZenPone and found following issue: There is a checkbox in the energy settings: switch on backlight by tapping on screen (i dont know the exact phrase because i have got a german ROM). Double check if it is checked. If not check it and your problems are gone. Post the result here please for the other guys.
Thanx.
well the thing is ive done that before and well it still reverts back to that setting after a while

Do you mean you have double checked that issue and recognized that the option is not checked although you have checked it.
Do you mean it is unchecked automatically? If so this is a crucial information for all.
I had the same problems some days ago,
Didnt work to check/uncheck softreset.
I went to registry and did it there, and now it works.
johnny which key did you go to
I´m so sorry, i dont remember.
But it was in hkcu\controlpanel\backlight
Try change backlightontap and batterytimeoutunchecked.
That sounds good.
I would revert them and softreset then change them the regular way again (if its not ok.)
So probably i did it at that time.
ok this is getting real annoying this didnt start happening til i upgraded to 2.21. Now everytime i go into standby it turns my back light to very dim and i gotta go and reput it back to bright is there a program that might be doing it.
i have wisbar, resco explorer, resco pocket radio, pocketbreeze, phm reg editor. installed any one else have any problems with those messing with the backlight
i also have memaid, pocketzenphone 6
nm i figured it out thank you all for yourhelp

Delay in answering calls with data connected

So I am having this new problem ever since I have data. When it is connected, which is all the time, it takes ~3-4 seconds to actually answer a phone call after pressing the answer button. If i turn off data, picks right up. anyone else ever have a problem answering calls with data connected?
If you dont have problems, can you please comment that you dont so i know other people's phones are working. thanks
Slow to answer calls
I am having the same problem. I noticed it first when I installed the 3.16 rom with GPS so wondered if that was the culprit.
i think it is occurring when you are connected to data. i turned it off and works better, but i dont want to have to turn my data off i just started paying for it and love having it.

I recently started seeing this also.
I'll try turning the data off and see if it goes away.
By chance do you have Advance Configuration installed?

I do as well...
Perhaps I'll try uninstalling and see if there's a change. Or is this something else I should know?
well...i did a hard reset, installed everything BUT the advance configuration thing...all working great. Plus i had a problem with the backlight being disabled, now that works fine. guess that Schaps Advance configuration program screws up a lot. Thanks for thinking of it
Mine was doing the same thing and I looked all over and found in ppcgeeks that several people found that advanced configuration was the cause. You have to do a hard reset. I unistalled it and did a hard reset and installed all the same programs except that and bam the issue was fixed. What a pitty because I praise Schaps Advanced configuration. It makes it a lot easier to change settings. I am not sure of the exact issue or if it has been fixed but not installing it fixed my issue.
I cant find the link that I read before, but here is a link that states it too. Do a backup of your phonedo a hard reset install all the apps but Advanced Config and see if it helps. Worst case restore the backup.

or
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6800-xv6800/101646-delay-before-hearing-caller-hello-hello-hello.html #9
I'm having the same issues.
Delay only happens when data is active.
Running DCD 2.3.1, Radio 3.27, and I do have Advanced configuration installed.
I cooked in Advanced Config, so I have to reflash to take it out. If you find an easier way of isolating the problem I'd love to hear it. Otherwise I'll have to flash with nothing and add slowly till I determine the culprit.

Wifi pop-up drives me crazy

Hi guys, haven't seen this one discussed yet. If so, pardon me. Anyway, here we go.
I spend quite some time on the road so I installed my old pal Navizon on my THD. But know I'm cannot get the wifi pop-up turned off. So far, I found three places to switch it off: in Navizon itself, through settings/sounds en settings/wifi. But the the wifi popups keep coming back, making the phone virtually unworkable because they pop up every 2 or 3 seconds.
Does anyone have the same problem? Can someone tell me the right registry keys? I found one, but I think this is controlled by more then one key...

yeah, I know. Been there, done that. Did not work. It really annoyed me so I decided to clear the storage en start over. Alas, also this time the wifi popups keep coming up even though I unticked the frigging box.
Any thoughts?
How about putting the comms manager in the start menu then just pushing WIFI off when you don't need it. I normally turn off WIFI like this to preserve battery...
EDIT: I don't know much about the app you're using...

Same problem here. I also unticked the "notify" option, but the popups keep on coming up. Does anybody know of any registry hacks that resolve this?
Is this isuue still not sorted? I have installed the latest official HTC firmware and it still occurs. Does anyone have an answer to this?

Wifi connection keeps enabling itself

I've just done a ROM upgrade to 1.66.707.1, and now my Wifi connection kees enabling itself.
I'm sure that I missed something to make it not connect, but what?
Anyone here who might have a clue what it could be?
Thank you.
Hmm that sounds like something I have seen before. I had a similar issue when I had the hd2 12 button action screen installed. Do you have that?

No.. I've not installed that.
I'm also not using Stocks, Weather, Internet time sync and so on, and I thing that if I would, the phone would use the gprs option.
Tomorrow, I'll re check all applications that I'm running to see if I've missed a setting.
Im just curious.
When you disable/enable wifi do you use the comm.manager or another program???

Switch the phone into airplane mode (in the comm manager) and the startup wizard should popup. Just run through that process.

Maybe put it in airplane mode and restart it. It sounds like the issue that some others have had after installing 1.66. It runs the setup wizard in the background, and that automatically starts wifi. My biggest concern if this is the case is that your phone isn't set up to work on the network yet.
Try it anyway and see how you get on.

Okay.. I've put it in "Airplane mode", turned off and back on the phone.
Still not setup wizard.
Did the same thing again and soft reset. Still no setup wizard.
I'm going to give it some more runs, but if no luck I will install an other ROM (custom one), to see if my problem is gone.
I'll report back if I know more.
Thank you for your input.
re: isn't set up to work on the network yet
It is.. All my network connections are working fine.
I think is an issue of Wifi Toggle.
I had the same issue and stopped using it.

Just do a serch on hear fore " Keep wifi connection alive in standby " this fix fix works fine for me.
I have the same issue... not a huge problem, but annoying.
I found and looked at the thread mentioned. Sure enough, changing the registry entry mentioned in that thread does revert when phone is rebooted.
I didn't want to install yet another program just to solve this problem (ie. mortscript) so I did a little testing...
Try changing this registry entry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms]
"SuspendOffDelayInterval"=dword:0
In my small amount of time testing it seems to work.
Resetting device doesn't effect the value.
Let's see how this setting goes over tomorrow.
