strange, i cant boot anymore with my 8gb microSD card anymore. the screens just stays at "smart mobility" (and the red version anouncement in the bottom right corner doesnt show up). after taking the SD card out hot, it starts up. also afterwards, when started, it doesnt recognise the card. i also have a 256mb card from nokia, the same happens with this one. so i think there is a hardware defect with the reader, or am i wrong?
help appreciated ;-) thx a lot
I guess you are right.

hi!!
i need some help with my mda compact..
i bought a new sd 2Gb card and it wont read it...
its asks to format it and does but nothing else...
thats it..
it cant read it..
I've had the same prob with an 2Gb MMC, and i fix it by unscreawing a bit the top 2 screws of the mainboard (have to open the upper back part). The ideea is to push the card slot backword, until it reads the card correctly, anddoing this with the battery cover on place, to be able to power on your device after uncreawing a bit, to test the rezult. By doing this I fixt also some reading problemsa that i had with other card (when paying movies from the card, it would freez the move until I would pull out the card and put it back again). Hope to be of help.
Hi. I broke one of the 2 "arms" that make contact when the card is pressed down so my wizard is not recognizing it.
Is there a way to fix this? when i press the card down, it stays there but the backlight doesnt turn on and the card is not recognized.
Thank you
Also, the broken arm is broken in half
Ok, i figured it out myself.. I wrapped the sd card with aluminum foil (leaving the reading area uncovered) and thats it. My wizard is reading the sd card again.
Hi Guys! Recently my DVP felt down and the LCD is crashed so I would like to make a use of its SD card. Here I encountered some problems. Non of the card readers wants to open this card. It even doesn't show up as a mounted device (Debian). Is it somehow locked or so ? When I pack it back to DVP it works still fine. Any ideas how to format it to make use of it ?
Regards
I have the same exact issue as you!!
Dropped my DVP and cracked the screen. Still turns on, but can't see anything as the LCD is dead.
None of my card readers read the card. I have other SDHCs which open perfectly.
I would also like to know if there is some way to force format it.
My card reader drive on my laptop does not show up unless a card is inserted. Since it isn't reading the card, nothing is showing up.

This is a known issue, All windows phones lock the SD card and format it in an unreadable format.
There used to be a list in the HD2 WP7 section with devices that can reformat the SD card. (I believe nokia phones are among them).
Thanks man!

You need a newer Nokia Symbian phone, ex E71.
Trying to get my hand on one.
I bought a generic 64GB sd card off ebay. Card worked in my phone till i tried to transfer files to it then all of a sudden after reboot it shows "Blank SD Card SD card is blank or has unsupported files" The funny thing is this card read in any other phone my wifes s3 my mothers LG and even my co workers S4 (granted shes on ATT) It does not matter how many times i take it out and put it back in I still get the blank SD. I put it in a card reader and all the files are there. I have formated it to ext4 fat32 and it came fatext and once in a while if i format it it shows up in phone again till i try to put files on it and back to blank sd. I can read and write files to it no problem in another phone and sd card reader. plug and unplug it all day and it still loads up. Except on my phone. Im thinking i have a defect on my new phone. Anyone else have this problem? I even updated to the MF9 to see if this was a bug maybe they fixed. But i think its the phone when i was rooted with TWRP even twrp would freeze if i had the card plugged in till i ejected it. Oh yea cant even format it in the phone it has the option but does not work either. Some times it just keeps telling me its safe to remove card no matter how many times I hit mount.
These are the sort of things generic cards do. Your best solution is to get an authentic sd card. Be it big name brand or small.
I had this issue on my first sgs4, it also had some issue where it wasn't reading the battery properly (always at 100%). The first 32 GB card did this, read it fine at first then the sd went and did the issue you're having. Returned the phone and the same thing happened on the new phone. The card was some off brand (pny I think). Picked up a 64GB SanDisk has been working so far, but I saw this error come up fora moment but it quickly remounted.
Kind of scared it would happen again (my alarm clock will fail if the sd card dismounted). So I had to go get an old fashioned alarm clock for the first time in7 years.
My sd card isn't working anymore. It can't be detected by my phone, nor my PC and tablet. I just left my phone for a bit and when I returned there was a notification (a yellow triangle with an '!' in it) on my notification bar saying that the card was unexpectedly removed. I thought nothing of it and just restarted my phone but after restarting it's still not getting detected. I checked on the PC, but it just shows like there's nothing. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? I can't use any of the usual sdcard recovery apps since my PC won't detect the card in the first place

It's a Kingston 32GB Class 4 MicroSD Card
Yes, but at this point its a small piece of useless plastic...
You need to get a new sd card...
Had a similar problem with a Kingston. Was dead for good. I suggest you get a better brand and better speed card.

If its a legit Kingston, they have a lifetime warranty. Have it replaced.
Well, the card itself isn't much of an issue. The files inside it are. I only have a 2 month old backup
