Didn't realize at first that you were speaking about the password screen, thought it's the sim PIN screen. Anyways, it would be nice to have a similar style to the one where you enter your sim PIN
See pic below
Password Screen
Thats a great idea guys
I have been thinking about that since the first time I saw the screen. I hope someone can point you in a direction - and since you (DinoZ1) are a designer, then... all the better.
Also the skin of the pin screen would look nice on the calculator.
*bump*
I also like the idea of a darker password screen very much, would make it more difficult for others to see what you are typing, too.
I was looking for something like. Even in it's basic form.
How do you enable this? (Im assuming this is for when the phone comes out of standby and you need to put in a password to unlock the phone right? )
A cool interface would be cool...
Thx.

To enable this, go to Start--settings--lock and make the desired changes.
Thanks Chris Cross...
Yikes, that is one ugly screen....If someone does write something for it, please keep an Enter button instead of having to press the unlock button...
Thx!

Have been searching as well but maybe the password screen is not made of images,... it could be made of background colour and text...
What do you think ?

That could likely be the case. If you change the theme in windows (for example to the red Guava one), that password screen also changes colors accordingly. On the other hand, the sim password screen stays the same (as far as I know). So, it might be that the phone lock screen is indeed made up of designated colors and text (matching the given theme) and not made up of images.

Clock on CHome CClock page does not display correctly shows as 7:28000
any way to fix this? Using win mo 6.1 as well.
Just Change the settings for your clock to 2400 hours instead of PM and AM.
what does this do?
can anyone tell me what this does? thanks a lot for the info
Love it, except for the signal and battery meters on top
Has anybody else noticed that, when in a screen other than the homescreen (I'm using the colored iconbar plugin from Rinku), the signal, battery, and message icons on the top bar appear as only white boxes? Also, the comm manager doesn't work right, none of the "buttons" glow and I can only choose the phone one by pressing the number 1. Pressing 2, 3, 4, etc don't appear to do anything...
Is there a way to fix this?
I REALLY want to keep the 96dpi running. It looks really nice, and improves my homescreen real estate.
Anyone figure out a way to fix this?
GREAT tweak, other than those minor bugs...
THanks for your work!!

DPI usually mean Dots per inch, which is another way to describe resolution. i'd say to check out the excalibur forum for the full story... i'm abotu to myself
EDIT:
pudgedaddy said:
...basically this works similarly to increasing your screen resolution on your PC.(minus the actual resolution changing) meaning it fits more stuff on your devices display since it shrinks down what is placed on your screen.

I agree. Other than the issues with the clock which was changed with military time everything is great for me. And if you dont like it then remove the cab and it will revert.
What is the Default DPI
Does anybody know what the default DPI is for the Shadow?
I dont get why when I Run CeleCMD all i see is boxes instead of actual words. Any one else having this problem?
I have the White Box Problem as well. They don't seem to be going away and My Buttons 1-9 are non-responsive as well and fix for this!
Default DPI for the shadow is 131
Hi Fellas.
For those who want simple bright themes, this might interest you. I initially made this for myself, but decided to un-customize it a little and share it.
Can't think of what to call it, so this is it:

Just copy the cab over to diamond and run it. Restart manila to take effect.
It's un-installable.
I would recommend a custom home wallpaper with white bottom so that the theme shall look good. This is because the bottom bar fades out in the home screen, and it depends on what color your wallpaper has for it to look good.

OK- got it for the green explanation.
What I meant is that reverting Silver and Gold with each other, would look like a Gold background and silver internal icons. A real bling-bling phone (and I saw that someone is creating silver-gold new icons in another theam thread)
But, style is personal preference hehe...

Tippy is a bill splitter and tip calculator for Windows Mobile. It was designed to work on all resolutions and to never require use of the stylus.
I improved many things with v.1.1. Lots of bugs were fixed, UI was made easier to use and a big button SIP was added for number input. You should definitively update if you have 1.0!

I was affraid the demand would be too small but seeing people are interested I'll pursue development a bit.
VGA for devices is ready (Force QVGA) but it needs .net CF and I didn't want it around for a first release. I'll also add more currency symbols as suggested on another forum.
Something I did that I would like to see more often is settings saved to text files. It can be edited easily by anyone and leaves nothing after uninstall.
Thank you for sharing!
I am definately going to try this out.

i still haven't been able to put it on my phone, but i'll have a crack at it tonight... from the screen shot on your site... i like how the tip percentage and number of people are configured with finger friendly buttons... what do you think about adding an easier way to add the amount to tip? i don't know if you've used g-alarm... but maybe something like how you set the alarm time in that? where you have add/subtract buttons below each digit (that way u wouldn't have to bring up the keyboard).

That's interesting. I'll try G-Alarm and look for what you are talking about.
I might add a pop-up form with a keypad when you click the text box and see how this work.
I don't like the look very much so I might add a cuter UI (skinnable ) if it doesn't slow down the launch time too much.
I love the idea, and tried it. BUT the calucation is WRONG. Hope it will be fixed soon.

Oops! You are right! Once you start messing with the amount of people present it gets ugly. I'll fix that soon enough!
I don't test my apps enough
I fixed the results so they should be accurate now.
I'm currently working on a big keypad to type the amount. I will also add some languages and currencies and eventually skinnable interface.
UPDATE:
I made the following changes:
-Tip is now accurately calculated
-The amount is entered using a SIP keypad
-The + and - buttons for tip and people are now changing individual digits instead of the whole number. It's much faster and easier to enter it now.
-Changed the look a bit, fixed control resize errors when rotating screen, VGA should work well.
After all I won't add a skinnable UI to save space and keep the app fast and usable.
I only have a few minor fixes left to be done so I should release v.1.1 tomorrow. (I'm on Ubuntu and I'm too lazy to reboot... and Vista sucks).
Ta-da! An update!
A lot of stuff was fixed, including all of the suggestions except languages

Hello,
First of all, I hope am posting in the correct location. Anyways, in windows mobile, we receive different tooltips, ex: call summary report from the provider, credit report, and many others, the ones am talking about are the tooltips that appear on the top right corner of the screen.
These tooltips are so annoying since the buttons they carry are totally not finger friendly. After using "Yota Phone" on my HTC Touch Pro, i noticed that they mapped/changed the default tooltips with the title "PHONE" with their own nice finger friendly one.
Is there any program that does such a thing? searched a lot and couldn't find any. If nobody knows a program that does this, can someone tell me what are the commands/code of those functions/events? maybe i would do a small application for that one.
Thank you

This is an awesome idea!!! I too am suffering from sausage fingers syndrome
I'm not exactly sure how this could be done but I there is another application on XDA that changes the way our Context Menus look. He does is via dll injection and my guess is that that is how to do this also.
This would be awesome, I hate those little popups as well!!!! Maybe you could ask francarl (creator of FingerMenu), your idea sounds similar to what he did.

thank you m.schmidler. I was thinking about how to replace standard tooltip. It will be very useful if someone finds which is the Win32 API (if exists) that opens the tooltip!
I would totally use this! Anyone wanna pick this up?
Great to see you guys interested in this idea, but wish someone could actually implement it. If only creators of "Yota Phone" would reply. Since they successfully changed the "Phone" tooltip.
If only they share the knowledge. already posted a question regarding this matter on their thread, but no replies on that so far.
I will look into this as soon as I get some time. I'm working on wFacebook for now but as soon as I release a new version (hopefully by this weekend) i'll do some research and post my findings.
Add me to the list of the intrigued.
while you're at it, could you have a look at the default windows popups as well? you know, the ones with that incredibly tiny and impossible to hit ok thingy in the top right corner? even *with* a stylus it is annoyingly hard to press ok.
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/miscctrl/ToolTip_Class.aspx or http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2005/02/15/373120.aspx do there help any? I am not a programmer! so if they don't help at all!

Oh, yeah those too are so damn annoying!
If there are things that amaze me in pocket pc they are the following:
1. PPCs are more than 10 years old, and we still have THAT FEW RAM with SUCH SLOW PROCESSOR?
2. A message to Microsoft, WTF are you doing? We here at XDA can create a better OS with MUCH smarter tools and you as an enterprise suck that much in your own OS?
Hope we get a fix / program for the tooltip AND those middle confirmation messages, like the one that appears when you try to shut down the device. Buttons are non user friendly and still needs a stylus. Idiotic menus/tooltips.
Cheers

I'm not thinking something like my snapshots I photoshopped up would be possible, but it would be nice to have an easy-hide button for Titanium rather than going into the Today screen settings.
I guess the mockups are something I might have if I was a Microsoft 6.5 Engineer. Basically I just copied the Hide/Show Desktop Button from Windows 7, added some Arrows from the Lock Screen, and added the Lock Screen clock at the bottom.

I'd like that!!
If this were the default lockscreen it would be much more original that than the iPhone S2U that Microsoft is trying to copy.
Think, if your alerts could shoot out of the arrow part and you could slide them up or down to retrieve them. To unlock the phone, just drag the arrows to the right. All with smooth animations of course. The arrow part could simply change color to let you know you have new alerts. When you tap it, the number of alerts slides out along with the individual alert slider.

I never thought of making it a lock screen. I guess if someone were to create a whole new lock screen app like that, it would be possible to make one that was like my designs... But I am still interested in the idea of easily hiding Titanium.

Looks like something that might be available on "7". But would be awesome if we could get it here and now. +1 for notifications linked to the appropriate panel, ie. you get an email: the email hidden tab would blink/change color/show email icon and you could slide that tab out to check it.. brilliant concept.

But would be awesome if we could get it here and now. +1 for notifications linked to the appropriate panel, ie. you get an email: the email hidden tab would blink/change color/show email icon and you could slide that tab out to check it.. brilliant concept.
Click to collapse
I'll attempt to work on the notification concept a bit in some more photoshop mockups. But thank you everyone for your good feedback.
such a simple idea....absolutely brilliant. I would love to have this
the closest thing to this now would be s2u2 actually. just a matter of skinning it to look like titanium. and you can slide and titanium would show!!! i know not what you had in mind but hey it's the closest you can get =D
