Close all runing aplications - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hi ,
where can i find a soft or something... to help me on my diamond, to close all runing aplications who runs on background.
I`m Not looking for a task manager.. just if exist something simple..with a click to close all aplications...

Two options using the HTC Task Manager (should come with the standard ROM):
1) When you're at the Today Screen (ie TouchFlo), where the "X" or "Ok" button usually is (Top-right hand corner), there is a icon that looks like 3 horizontal bars with a little triangle. Tap this icon, then tap the "X" icon that appears just below (and slightly to the left) of it.
2) Start->Settings->Systems->Task Manager, then press "Stop All"
Alternatively, just soft-reset the device
If that doesn't satisfy you, then keep an eye on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446928

makeing the Ok button actually close an app, not just (mini)

I have searced but to no avile.
I do use magic button, but I want to be able to close an app without taping the top right corner of the screen, with the ok button.
am I doing something wrong?
also is the best way to null the active sync from auto starting still making a fake server exchange?
Keep stylus on the ok button for a couple of secs, then an icon like a house should appear on your taskbar. Press this for a short while and a menu sholuld appear where you can change the settings to close programs instead of minimize.
or can use smclose which is simpler - just place in windows startup folder voila!

Searching for a TaskManager

Hello,
I'm searching for a taskmanager or a prog assign to a HW button, with following features:
1. If I press the 'OK' button on my Polaris and a 'x' is visible in the upper right corner, the apllication/task in the foreground must be close.
I try the HTC taskmanager but with the option <OK/Close> on the OK button (button4), some apps don't close. Messenger, or contacts for example.
2. I need an exception list for task (like tomtom) which should be place in the background (like the messenger with HTC X-Button). Maybe a white list (for programs to cancel) is also acceptable.
I also tried 'ZapIt' and 'H-Button' and the taskmanager WkTask.
try pBar Its not really touch friendly...but works.
I use quickmenu. It allows me to close any forground app with the "OK" button and list the running apps in the start menu. It also allows me to hide any running apps (usually activesync).
However the menu is the same size as the original start menu so not finger friendly. I got used to it (even with fat fingers but using WM I have to). However you can also use D-Pad 'cause the running apps are on the top of the list.
why WkTask is not gd for u?

Now I've try pBar and quickmenu, too.
All this tools are good as taskmanager, but I need a little prog
which send an 'OK' if an 'OK' is visible. If a 'X' is shown in the top-right
corner, the program has to look in an exception list. If the task is mentioned in this list, the prog has to minimize it. Otherwise the prog must close the task.

It show like no other (very good) all tasks in the taskbar, but my problem could not be solved.

I never had a problem with wktask. The ok functions works fine for me

you're right, but only when I touch the 'x' the contact app is closed, if I press the HK, wkTask send it to background. Why?
All this applications work fine if I touch the 'x' on the display, but not if i assign them to a hardkey!
My requirements for the app I wand to assign to my 'OK' button (hardkey)
1. If a 'x' is shown, and I press the HK, the app should closed.
2. .. but it should not close if the app is in the exceptionlist. Then the app should minimized.
3. If an 'ok' is shown, and I press the HK, an ok should send.

X tab on Contacts

As in the title, the X tab on the contacts program doesn't work: it close the window but the program is still open in the task manager. Anybody noticed this?
The "X" doesn't close programs, it's like the "_" in the upper right corner of XP. It just hide the window. But try a Long press on the "X" (couple of seconds) and the program closes.

This is partially correct: I've set in the options of Programs Usage/Button that the "X" close the programs with only a short tap (instead of a long push). It's ok for all the programs except for Contacts that doesn't close!
Strange, I tested it on my HD before I posted the answer and it works but I haven't set the option to close with a short tap.
I guess contacts doesn't close with the long push either?

Straight to comm manager

I've searched like hell, wiki and all, but can't find a way to do this.
When I click the signal icon in the top bar, the system status screen appears, which is fine, but then if I click the signal icon on that screen it closes and then a notification icon pops up to show me the signal status in a bubble.
Is there any way to go straight from the system status screen to the comm manager? rather than the really long way at the moment?
I'd be really happy if there was a third party app which took the system status screens place with more detailed info and comm manager in one.
hope someone can help.

I don't know if it will solve your problem, but I simply added "Comm manager" as shortcut in the start menu. (2 clicks to comm manager)
I found that if I mapped the CommManager to the 'press and hold' call accept (green phone button) in the 'buttons' section in settings, then its nice and easy to load and it doesn't then matter where you are in your phone you can always get to commManager quick and easy.
I used to have this button mapped to use the camera, this is so I had a hardware camera button but the delay is too much to live with for me.
Hi,
Thanks for the tips, I know you can just assign comm manager to a button, but I was hoping there would be a more technical way to use the system status screen to go to the comm manager.
I already have on of my buttons mapped to rotate.
Thanks

Use Ae button plus (i am using it to turn on-off wifi with a double press on the vol up button)
or
edit the registry so you assign the commanager to your left softkey @ homescreen (you can use HD tweak or Advanced config tools).
instead of doing that to get to comm manager why dont you just
press home
slide to settings
load comm manager
its like button, slide, tap, less than 1 second and you can do it with one finger or your thumb while holding your phone in the same hand
tap start , tap comm manager. your there

Personally I feel 'Tap Start , Tap Comm Manager' is probably the best route to take but if you want to map a button to comm manager use AEB PLus
For example if you want you could use the Volume Up button to run Comms Manager as well as volume
Simply set Single Tap to run application and Double Tap for volume or whatever button & configuration you prefer
You have a choice of buttons to use and 3 option for configuration i.e. Single Tap, Double Tap & Hold Button
Well thanks for all your suggestions they are good ones, but as always me being very picky, I was kind of hoping there would be registry hack to allow me to do it from the system status, in my opinion this wouold be the more TF3d integrated solution allowing me to go to the comm manager just as pressing the volume button takes me to the volume controls.
It just a little illogical the way it shows the notification bubble instead of taking you to the comm manager.
What would be really great is a more advanced syatsm status screen showing all the connection info on it, such as wifi signal strength and status, data status
all icons with the ability to click on and go to comm manager.
I'm guessing this is probably just me, but I think that would be great.

Start-Settings-System-Touch-FLO, untick the Show System Status screen checkbox.
At least that cuts out one unnecessary step..
hmm I don't really think that qualifies as solving my gripe as it just disables the system status menu and that doesn't fulfil any of my wish list.
Ok well if I can't get it to work with the touchflo system status screen is there a way to change what program is launched on the click of the task bar? That way I might stand a chance of making or finding an app that does what I want.

doesnt the new htc notification thingy replace those bubble pop ups with a full screen finger friendly screen?
i dont know cos i havent installed it...
then clicking on the icon would take u to take screen to load comm manager
I downloaded WKTASK, you can find it on this site, which places an icon of all open programs on the task bar. Open Commmgr the first time and then leave it open on the task bar. Next time you need it one tap brings you there.
wktask looks cool thanks

Right top corner

In the right top corner, I don't get the key to access memory manager, or opening programs..
When a program is launched, i've got a cross to close it. But when I'm at home for example, I've only a black square without anything, where I can't press to go to memory manager, and opened programs manager.
Is it normal ?
Download and install the "Touch X Taskmanager.cab" from the first post of this thread...

Taken from HTC website FAQ section
Q. Where is the task manager that used to be on the top right corner of the screen?
This handy feature of this phone has been moved. Slide to the Settings tab > Others. You can select Task Manager from this screen, and on the subsequent screen, you can choose to end a program or select close all programs to end everything.
You could also read the sticky here
Thanks very much both
