Screen protector "delaminating"! - Touch HD General

I've been keeping my Touch HD carefully covered while waiting delivery of a screen protector.
When I came to apply the screen protector, I was horrified to discover that the top touch layer of the display seems to be separating from the glossy black bezel underneath in places
Note that the very edge doesn't seem to be separating, it seems to be just "internal".
Although it doesn't seem to affect operation of the device, it looks rather unsightly and I'm especially peeved after looking after it so carefully.
Anyone else seen anything like this ?

Don't wait and take it back to the shop for exchange!!!

Isn't that your screen protector coming off???

check carefully around the camera: if you see an edge, i bet you already have the screen protector! once i applied mine incorrectly, i could see exactly the same effect...but it was the film...

OMG, I am so dumb
I had peeled off the printed "protector" that came on the display when I bought the device, but there is indeed ANOTHER ONE underneath
It must have been applied so perfectly at first that I could not even tell it was there !
Thanks so much guys.. PANIC OVER, I hope

Are these scratches or what...?

Earlier when I turned my G1 over, I found multiple lines on the back of the battery cover, I have no idea what they are but they obviously don't look very good. The phone has always been kept in a case and only today have I noticed them. I have a white G1 so the cover is a light bronze color. The lines resemble lines made by a pen very lightly. However, after applying alcohol (hand sanitizer), water, soap and intense rubbing it will not come off. Has anyone ever scratched their cover? What does it look like? I know this is a very... strange question to ask haha.

Yeah it is. I mean, really...it's probably a scratch.

suppose we can't really tell unless you get us some pics
my guess is, it's either a scratch or a crack.
I cant take any pics... they don't show up very well in the picture. But ah well, my Shield Skin comes in a few days, and new themes will be released in like a week from the competition to make me feel better. In the end I will probably end up just buying another battery case for 10 bucks off eBay. Must be my OCD haha.

Dirt under LED

I have dirt under my LED. I opened the phone and I can't reach it, it's between the glass and some semi-translucent plastic. Any chances on cleaning it without having to detach the whole screen? I don't want to screw things up.
This is the place where the dirt is, after removing the glass.

I recall such a thread being around a few months back. The person was completely obsessed about it =). I honestly doubt you can remove it without detaching the screen completely. You should be careful with the digitizer as it is very fragile....
The other person replaced his G2 completely. Since replacing the entire front panel isn't quite cheap I think there's no other option than to disassemble it.
Ya. Well, I thought maybe that black square can be removed (temporarily) from the case, since it is of a different colour. Maybe someone who is familiar with disassembling this phone can tell us more.

Yeah, better wait for an educated response. My biggest fear in this case, however, is that the black square won't adhere properly afterwards and then you'd keep getting lint under the LED.

Light seeps through gaps?

So i was using my Z2's flashlight in the dark a few days ago and noticed that the light seems to go through the sides of the phone? It happens on every side of the phone. My phone is waterproof (submerged many times, indicator still white) but is this an issue or some sort of feature (lmao) ?
My specific phone also creaks near the sony logo.

Thats somewhat abnormal
Normal for glass to react like that but not normal that you can see the side of the glass like that
If it doesnt hurt the phone then just ignore it
I tried now and i saw the same on my device but then i realized that it's the tempered glass screen protector edges just reflecting the light .. it looks cool btw
Light is like that, it always wants to get out and spread. Water on the other hand always wants to get in and must be prevented from doing that...
Sent from my SGP311 using XDA Free mobile app
The tempered glass makes that too in my case.
When I get a notification from viber in the dark, the purple light spreads all around and its cool :highfive:
The odd thing is that i don't have a tempered screen protector, just a generic cheap thin plastic one from ebay.
Either way, it seems that this is normal and happens cause of the glass build.

Screen glass problem?

My nexus screen glass is about 1 millimeter above the main frame, it is normal? Glass does not shakes, does not go down when pressed ...
This 1 millimeter, is uniform throughout the Screen!
The glass on mine sits right below the frame, very small depth difference but I can feel that the glass is slightly below it.
I'll have another, I have no Lucky :crying:
Anyone else who can give feedback?

Same here for me.
Looks like you may need to RMA it.
Mine is sitting below the frame. Perhaps give google or huawei a call to determine if that is a manufacturer defect?
Glass may be brooked from inner side.
Have opened a case with Google, will now send photos also take advantage and put here
Mines ever so slightly raised, certainly not 1 mm though, I also have a tempered screen protector on which lifts it a bit higher too.
After all is good, I think optical illusion, has a black rim around the screen glass

Screen softness?

I've had the phone for 24 hours now, and I've already noticed a lot of tiny scratches at the top of the display (by the camera/2nd screen). Several of these scratches go right across the camera, and they all seem to be going vertically up and down the glass right at the curve point. I truly haven't set this phone down screen side down, and the only thing I can think of is it getting scratched going in and out of my jeans. I keep it in my right front pocket all by itself. I'm super disappointed in the glass so far. Anyone else have this issue?
Edit: Photo's.

Mine did as well, I removed it first thing because it had 4 small bubbles in the middle of the display. I just figured it was for transport like every other phone comes with. I'll post photos in my original post.
