Is it possible to flash the rom and set a SPB backup back?

Hello everyone,
Is it possible to set a backup back (spb backup) when the ROM flash fails? I made a full backup 23 MB.
Greetz from holland!
it should work like this:
1) make a full backup with spb
2) install new rom and feel free to play with it - however you cannot restore apps/settings to the new rom
3) it your desire to switch back to your old rom - just flash it and restore with spb your old app & settings
thanks for [email protected]
Just installed the new I-mate rom, it's so much better than the t-mobile one, 100x faster, better comm manager, faster network detect!

Backed up Cingular 8125 no phone , calendar or contacts

Backed it up with a trial version of sbp. Wiped out my appointments, all contacts and no phone function. Installed Summiter's ROM. Was working great and have no idea if it is appicable to the problem. Any ideas?
Spb backup won't do a proper restore after a rom upgrade. Try restoring from activesync/outlook express. Next time backup pim.vol (in the root directory of the device) which contains the contacts/appts.
RE: Update on Backed up Cingular 8125 no phone , calendar or
I did not explain it properly. I did the ROM upgrade then installed all my programs. I then used sbp trial to back up everything. When done it did a soft reboot and that's when I lost m phone, contacts and calendar. I use Pocket informant. It was still there but empty. I had to reinstall the RO to get my phone back. Thanks for the advice.

Restore Contacts

I,
i've recently upgraded my Prophet to ShadoW_1.0_TE WM6 Rom from my official WM5 Rom.
I've backup files made with sunnysoft backup manager, but now i cant restore them.
From my backup file i only choose PIM Data. I dont get any error, but when device restarts i cant open CONTACTS. Even creating a new one, nothing..
Does anybody have any ideias how to get my contacts back ?
Thanks
Same problem here.
Have backed up contacts using SPB software. Contacts wont even open now.
Does anyone know where contacts file is located in WM6 ?..
Hope someone can help us
Do you have SPB Diary ?
I've installed SPB Diary and my contacts appear there.
Still working on it
Solved
Problem Solved: (if you have contacts in outlook)
Re-install Outlook from Vista, sync, voilá.

Spb backup

im not sure if any of you are familiar with spb backup but i have a question, if i flash a new rom on my phone will spb backup be able to instal all my programs and settings unto it?
You can try...it should work in ver2.
from SPB website: ROM Upgrade Mode — now it's possible to restore data after the ROM upgrade
Not sure what version I've got got BUT if you put a new os on your phone its not advisable(has warnings on SPB Backup) NOt to install backup as there are differences in the registry and programs list. In essence you lock up your phone and have to HR.. Can do mail and contacts though.
Cheers...

[Q] How to backup contacts, calendar and sms without 3th party software

A year ago I installed unbuntu on my HD2 with the dutch stockrom wm 6.5. After running it I lost my certificates on my HD2 resulting in not being able to run 3th party software.
So no TomTom, TCPMP etc. (but Opera and skype works ) but wm software works.
Active sync did work untill a month or 2 ago and then I got a 1 in my sms pictogram but no sms. A soft reset doesn't work.
Now I want to do a hard reset but first a backup of my contacts (most important), calendar and sms.
Now my question:
How to backup contacts, calender and sms without 3th party software (I can't install it) or active sync.
Explorer (verkenner) works.
I have a installed sd card.
I found this: [Q] Calendar folder - where is it?
Can I copy the file: "pim" from the root to my SD card, give my HD2 a hard reset and then put the pim file back in the root of my phone. Will this save my contacts and calendar? If not, what can I do?
In advance Thx for your advise.
HD
Have you tried google sync. Google can upload your contacts, calendar directly on your gmail account. The other option could be try using funambol.
Have you tried PIM BackUp 2.8 by copying the .exe file to SD card then using explorer to find & run the PIM BackUp.exe ! if it runs it will backup your requirements.
Also try SPB Backup from SD & if it runs choose custom backup & select mail, PIM ect .
Files attached ...
You could also copy/extract PIM.vol Mail.vol & try & insert them in reset device but I would make some effort with a few backup tools first, SPB if it runs is superb & I have used it flawlessly on WM2033SE to WM6.5.3 for contacts, sms, email & PIM.
Thx for youre reply.
@msmkt
Google will not work. I can't connect with my computer.
@Mister B
I will try you're solution Thx! If I have results will post them here. Thx again!

HD
