Hey much time passed and link is broken now can someone upload this file for me ?

complete newbie

Hi guys,
I am a complete newbie and I have downloaded a nice Clock which I want to replace on my device. Can you please tell me how to do it?
It has lots of files with "_manila". How can I install it?
Thanks for your help
Welcome to the forums, you just have to copy the manila files to your Windows folder and accept yes when asked to overwrite the files.
hi, am also a newbie, what do the folders with _manila stand for? i just got my diamond, what's the very first thing i should do so that i can modify anything? do i need to download the hotfixes from the htc website? thanks a lot!

The hotfixes are only to fix something that's not working properly on your phone.
In many cases, like my own, they're not needed, so don't worry about them.
If you want to edit your TouchFLO 3D, you can get the Manila Customizer from here (thanks Grumps). For a beginner, like yourself, I'd say that's pretty much all you need, but when you get more experienced and want to change things yourself, you can get the Manila Editor from here (thanks sushilange) or the CFC GUI from here (thanks Chainfire).
But like I said; you probably only need the Manila Customizer for now. It's very easy to "break" your TouchFLO 3D if you don't know what to do or how it works.
The esiest way to change clocks and all that stuff with manila files is manila customizer, u can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437420
i use it on my diamond with TF3D2 and it works just great to install/replace manila files

How to reg-edit Cookies Home Tab, Sense

Hello.
I'm now on my second attempt at cooking roms and i've (i think) moved on a little from where i was.
I'm using OndraSters amazing visual kitchen.
I'm cooking 235653 XIP and SYS into a 1.75 Korean ROM using the packages from the new 02 1.72 ROM. I know this may not sound tough to some of you here, but it's taken me ages just to sus out a few simple things.
The position fix was fun as i'd never heard of it until i booted the ROM for the first time.
My question is, how do i go about cooking in cookies home tab? I turned the CABs in to an EXTs and i've seen a few tips about editing the registry before i cook it into the ROM, but how do i get it to look how i want on first boot?
My thoughts about ROMS in general is that i could add all cab/ext files i need and just export the reg file to be cooked in. I bet its not that simple, but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time

[SOLVED] Cooking the GTX theme into my ROM

I apologise if this has been answered as, much as I have tried, I cannot find the answer.
I am using osKitchen 1.31 amd have successfully cooked a few of my own ROMs now, which are not always the greatest success (gotta love HSPL).
The one thing that is eluding me at the moment is how ROM chefs have successfully cooked in themes like the GTX white theme. I've checked a variety of threads on the subject but I am none the wiser.
The theme I have is in CAB form and so I believe I need to convert this to an EXT package but then my knowledge begins to dry up. Any guidance (or links to threads I have missed) would be greatly appreciated. Thus far I have tried to convert/produce app.reg files, with no success, and have even tried cheekily pulling the theme from ChuckyROM (the one with kitchen), but even then with no success.
Thanks

Use the Import menu, and choose Import EXT package. There you can choose a cab file for import, and it will create the proper directories, which you can then cook into your ROM.
Remember to position the new GTX EXT package to install AFTER the Manila files!

Unfortunately it didn't work.
When you say position the GTX EXT to install after the Manilla files, is that by setting the priorities or is it as simple as naming the GTX package zzz_GTX?

You need to have the GTX manila files and images overwrite the stock manila files and images. You can accomplish this by zzz or priority (probably the better way, but either way should work).

I always use the zzzzz_ naming scheme...
I've had some limited success! Thanks for all your help with this, I really appreciate it.
The theme contained a wallpaper which is not applying, so I'm guessing I need to start looking at the app.reg. As difficult as this appears to be, I'm really enjoying playing with the kitchen. It's kind of... addictive!
Success!
I converted the GTX theme to EXT and then 'borrowed' the app.reg file from ChuckyROM. This is what was missing from the package and so nothing would load once this was added to the ROM.
I then extracted the wallpapers and created a new package with just those in. For now I am using ChuckyP, ChuckyL and GTX2 as these are fairly nice on the eye and will do for now. I placed the wallpapers into \GTX Wallpapers\files first, and then created an app.dat file in \GTX Wallpapers\ (I used Wordpad... I feel so dirty).
Code:
Directory("\Windows"):-File("ChuckyL.png","\Windows\ChuckyL.png")
Directory("\Windows"):-File("ChuckyP.png","\Windows\ChuckyP.png")
Directory("\Windows"):-File("GTX2.png","\Windows\GTX2.png")
The theme loads, the wallpapers are present and all is well!
Not bad for a noob.
Thank you all for your help.
P.S. I am now trying to cook in CHT Editor 1.8.5.1... expect screams for help shortly!!

Can you please attach those wallpapers here?
They form part of the ChuckyROM build, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5375438&postcount=1
I don't want to post them up for download as they're not my material.
my english is not very well
can any one explain his work for me basicly?
wen i import the EXT theme, the theme doesnt show correctly. i also moved it to build's files but no changes

Cool thanx got it rgiht. now just need a fix for internet tab scrolling and the facebook tab that shows blue icon when you are on it but ill check out the same thread
Almost There
Got the Calendar working got twitter fix got facebook font fixed. Only two problems left does anybody have a fix for internet tab not scrolling and secondly when i stop on the facebook tab the icon is blue. have alread loaded the basic GTX facebook icon fix here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=671634 but that didnt fix it.
I ended up editing the manila files myself and got the blue icons sorted.
Internet tab still runs away
GTX - OEM
Here is a full working GTX with all fixes applied, has default tabs as well as facebook tab icons.
If you are batteling to get the facebook tab settings to work. Typically error in facebookutil.exe then compare the dll files with the ones in cookie home tab editor. there an older one in chteditor that makes it not work so overwrite it with this one in this rar file. O yes its optimized for OSkitchen.
it has cookie 1.85 btw

[Q] Manila: editing 22e41977_manila (home layout) to see more calendar entries

Hi All,
I searched a lot but could not find a solution, so here's what I want to do: Manually editing the 22e41977_manila file to remove the RSS reader (allready done this one) and use the newly available space to display the next two calendar entries instead of just one. I know that CHT can do that but CHT slows my device down alot. So I want to edit the homescreen by my self and cook it in the ROM.
A similar question has been asked a while ago here, but with no really helpful answer.
AFAIK CHT also edits the responsible Manila file so some one allready needs to know that Do you guys have any hints?
I am using the latest (2021/2) Manila from OBOE BTW...Thanks alot already!
Hey mate,
I too tried to work on this and asked similar question here.
But with no luck/help yet .
It will be good if we can have this working.
BTW: Default Manila home does display one entry from calender but only if that is NOT FULL Day appointment .
Thanks.
Sounds like your best bet would be to ask in the CHT thread. A lot of the people involved in that project are more than willing explain how certain aspects of the mod are accomplished. They have helped me in out in areas like this. Just a thought
Another Idea that just popped up in my mind: How about using the plain manila we have now, install CHT and modify the home layout according to this. Now backing up the respective manila file(s?) and uninstalling CHT. Afterwards replacing the manila file in the ROM or the kitchen. Could that work? Thoughts?

Manila files used in CHT are very complicated and tightly coupled so we cant use part of those files .
We can try to look into the files (responsible for this task) of CHT and figure that out... but that is not easy .
Thanks.
