Hello!. I want a rom that supports greek language support for Touch HD. (e.g. menus, contacts, sms, weather,...)

I think that if you flash your device with the Greek rom (When available) and something goes wrong you will have voided your warranty (HTC devices have PanEuropean warranty) as they'll say that you have done something illegal.

Does that change anything?
If you crack the cab, as others have done in the past you will still have a PPC with no warranty and you will have to hard reset in order to remove the greek customisation.
The announcement of illegal software is against the forum regulations.

Of course it does! The warranty is not voided when you install illegal software. It does, when you change the official rom. Greek customisation can be also inserted through Paragon language extender. I don't think it is related with warranty, if you don't buy it.

Pano, nobody talks about specific illegal software here. The discussion is focused on a Greek rom. I don't think it is illegal to create a Greek custom rom or a language extender...

I suggest you go to the WIKI and do a search, such as "CID" or "SuperCID". I know there's a vocabulary of terms in the Hermes WIKI.

CID-lock means: YOu can only flash official ROms in YOUR device language. All other will cause "vendor-ID error"
All devices are cid-locked by default - you have to pay for unlocking.
Aserg found a way of flashing devices to WM6 without the need of unlocking
BUT: when something goes wrong - you need an RUU in your language to unbrick your device.
SO pleas read more when trying to flash a WM6 rom.

ahh -- i have the WM5 , in 4 leanguage (when i hard reset it will let me choose English, Czech (my leanguage - but i have Eng for default) and 2 next leanguage, so i have RUU in English, will it work?

Try but since Czech is the main language i don't think it will work
but im not sure if it is Main leaguage ... this Rom have 4 leanguages -- totaly Tranclated, i dont know, if it is Czech rom , and you can choose Eng + next 2, or if it is Eng rom, for chzech republic, so putted there next 3 leanguage (Czech + that 2) ... does anybody have that "multileanguage roms too??"

Hmm never heard of multiple language boot before.. but i suggest you'd just try them! (if you really need the info)
Since your device info changes when you change the language, i would not know, only way to find out is trying
eeh .. but if it will not work, and i brick my device, i dont know how to unbrick that... because there is not RUU for chzech (i tryed to search everywhere) -- and when i brick that, i will loose a lot of money in my case...

You CANNOT brick with an RUU, if it's not he right one, you will get Invalid Vender ID error and it will not flash
Oh REALY?? You realy calm me im going to try to flash my Windows tonight... when my brother (4years older than me) goes home, he will probably try to flash to WM6 too ... so thx for guides guys

You got a point there then i suggest you just try the RUU's! if not one works, then you should CID-unlock at imei-check.co.uk. then flash to the latest WWE ROM, and then flash WM6 to it! good luck

I received today my TC with an English version of WM6. Cause I ordered a Dutch version of WM6, I called HTC with the question if it is possible to use a Dutch WM6 ROM. They told me that this is not possible, because the motherboard does not support the Dutch characters and also I lose the warranty.
Is there somone familiar changing the englisch ROM with the Dutch ROM?
Just flash it to youre phone no worry it will work beleive me.
First HardSPL youre device and after that use the dutch ROM. Someone has uploaded an Full and Light version and the Original version of the rom.
But make sure youre device is HardSPL otherwise you can brick youre phone.
Or return the phone and get a dutch version as you ordered.
But as said in the post above, flashing to another rom will have no effect on your motherboard. They just say that to scare you.

I allready contact the supplier, but I opened the box thats why I can't returned the TC. I also have to wait several weeks again, so I thought to simple change the ROM language to save time.

You now, i really would like to do that to but since we are Dutch i would love it if someone wrote an Dutch How-To Backup my Rom. Maybe someone who nows how to this and have some spare time?

Hello, I wanted to know whether I could flash a Dutch version into a WWE OS for the HD2. Here is the answer I got from HTC Support :
"I would suggest that you wait till the 13th as buying a dutch device means you will not be able to install an UK updates or the UK version of the OS as doing so would require you to hack the device and that is nto recommended or supported in any way and it would also void your warranty.

Ola,
If you did read the WIKI (yeah XDA have a good one) you found that you need to change your SPL.
So you have to wait for a hacked HD2 SPL.
You can also read there that there are to ways;
HARD spl, The hacked spl is allways there
JUMP spl, only a startup for flash a other rom that time.
Also you can read there how bring back your phone to default if ít's needed, sending to servicecenter and so on...
So keep a eye overhere and read the WIKI

If you gonna try... the HD2 has a CID lock so will not flash with the wrong country ROM.
You can set SENCE countrycode with a reg tweak.

Does this mean you can flash it with offical rom without hardspl? (chinese to wwe)
firstly use sn and imei code and check your phone's regional country .after that choose the correct regional english official ROM.
for example . your phone is english east european countries. you can download the English East Europe official ROM and directly flash without any hspl. I tried and it successed .

Don't blame me for this question - being a newbie, but is there any idea, if this (flash different ROM) will be possible in some days or some weeks, ...
I'm bored, that the windows phone idea is reduced to absurdity by having "market share protecting ?" limits induced by the providers...
I bought the 16GB version (not available in Europe...) from T-Mobile US and now I have no german layout for the keyboard, no dataconnection (ok, I'm using T-Mobile GERMANY not T-Mobile USA - what ridiculous, same company, I thought..)

Please someone correct me if im wrong but the USA version will never work this side of europe because it uses different frequencys for its 3g connection. I have one HD7 equal yours and gives Vendor Id error.
we will have to wait for HSPL or another thing different to install other HD7 roms.

and don't forget that it is possible that there never will be a Hspl (due to all the security checks by MS)

Yes, that's true
But what makes me strange is that if we have an unlocked phone (even if we bought in O2 ou Orange or another network) why can we apply a custom WWE/European rom?? If the phone is unlocked it means he can work in any country with any operator so by comparison we could install another rom (i think )

the phone is only unlocked to be used for other operators , The vendor ID didn't change and due to that you can only flash rom's that are signed by that vendor

normally that are different vendors confused: o2 DE , o2 UK) but you could just try if you want/need to flash (you just get an error nothing more )
what phone do you have (operator ) ?

me to , I don't see the point to flash a rom right now , the only thing changed are some OEM things (like ie explorer homepage , AND I DON'T want change that)

I can't agree more with you
My phone works excellent here in Portugal, I don't need to change anything for now...I'm checking the rumours about the updates that will came from MS in January and February and that makes me even more happy with the phone and software that I have for the moment
