Hi all,
Was just wondering if the memory card is hot-swappable? Transferring files over the PC is painfully slow. Also, a cheap microSD reader would let me use the memory card as a USB drive as well when I need to transfer stuff in a hurry..
OK just found out that it is. Hooray!

i have a sd card (1 gig) but it takes ages to transfer data to it..
for example it takes up to 50 min ot transfer 250 mb
is this normal? this really sucks!!!
Are you using a card reader writer or using activesync direct to your phone?
now activesync but i tried a 1.1 usb card reader writer and it was still crap!
well if it's also slow with a sd card reader then it's not really sd related and the only thing people can say to you is
1 try an usb2 reader
2 get a faster sd card
Hey guys,
I have a 2 GB mini SD that was acting up, so I went to format it and everything went smoothly until I realized that my card reader only supported 1 GB cards.
So now I have half of my card sitting around being wasted.
What card readers/work arounds do you guys use? Any generic drivers I could use to enable 2 gb fuctions from my reader?
Can't you just transfer items through your Wizard?
--edit--
Nvm, reread your post ^^;;
Anyway, what brand 2gb is it?
Yes, tell us the brand of card and the card reader. I thought most modern card readers would be capable of reading 2, 4 or even greater size cards.
Although it may be cheaper just to get a new card reader, try the attached utililty first.
My brand new Belkin Media Reader wouldn't read a 2GB card, but a cheapo 6-in1 media reader from Jessps (UK store) works fine.
Try using Pocket Mechanic on the Wizard, or pick up a Iogear GFR201SDM (a usb thumb drive you can stick a MiniSD card into) at your local CompUSA -- it'll set you back about $10.00.

This program allows you to swith between activesync mode and card export mode. When in card export and you plug your device into a pc via usb it detects it as a "USB Mass Storage". So it makes your wizard's storage card like one of those USB Jumpdisks. Thats what i used last a couple of days ago when my card got corrupted and had to reformat.
I tried this software but in the windows device manager , the USB mass storage device appears with a "!" ... in the device detais an error message appears "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" ... have any idea about this ???

Are you sure the card can be detected properly? do you have a sd card reader to see if windows can detect?
I don't have SD reader
No, i don't have a sd card reader to use with the computer to verify the card, but the sd card is a Kingstom standard mini sd card with him adapter to SD.
The card isn't reconigzed by the prophet and isn't reconigzed by the magician.
The type and size have problems with this models of XDA?
My guess is that the mini-sd to sd card adapter is busted. you should double check with another device to be sure. I doubt sd slot on the pda is busted (have you tried another sd card?). I've used a 2gig sandisk mini-sd car with an adapter in my dopod818pro no problems.
my miniSD adapter is a bit.. wacky. Try this.
Take both of them out.
Take the miniSD out of the adapter
Reinsert it, firmly but not too 'pushy'.
Now, the trick here, when you insert both of then into your phone, try not to push it on the miniSD, instead, push it on both side of the adaptor (eg ONLY touch the adapter when pushing into the phone, and balance it (left and right)).
Hi all,
I was wondering if there's any device that allows connection between a standard size SD card and the flipout, once it's connected it will allow transferring of data between the external and internal sd cards.
Thanks
airstash?
that's easy: a computer!
you could try something like airstash which connects the sd card through wifi....
Yeah... I was kinda thinking of something
with a more sane price
my link rate on the phone is 525Mbit/s and my computer is at 1Gbit/s and for some reason im transferring from my computer to my phones Memory card which is a sandisk 128gb and im only getting around 1-3 MB/s write speed, i don't get it shouldn't the sd card be rated for higher? or is it the chip inside my note 4 that bottlenecks the sd card? im using Es media to transfer the files. And no it's not small files it was around 800MB
Write speed to your SD card (external storage) from your pc to your device is slower than transferring the file directly from your pc to your devices' internal storage.

but how can it be so slow? is it the phone storage controller that's bottlenecking the sd card?

I'm not quite sure about that. But I think one of the reasons is the SD card itself. Try to use a microSD adapter, plug it in your PC and transfer a file to it. Is it a lot faster that way?
yeah i can get like 12 MB/s
