Dear developers,
I am desperately looking for a way to get the Cell-ID (Telephony tower ID) under Windows Mobile 5.
I came across three options, but none worked for me:
1. RIL_GetCellTowerInfo -
According to the documentation, this is working only on Windows CE, but not on Windows Mobile (?)
2. TAPI ? -
Could not find any Cell-ID related information in the documentation...
3. AT-Commands ?
a. Which AT command?
b. Will this be different between different Modem vendors?
Many thanks - Paz

hi,
i am trying to build a Internet Appliance platform based OS in platform builder. I am also adding voip application to it from the catalog. I added all the components from the "Voice over IP Phone Services" catalog section. But in the emulator, when the voip application starts it gives an error message "Error null (code) 0x80...."
can someone help me with this? it's urgent.
Thank you,
vjshankar
Is it possible to use Platform Builder CE 5.0 to build voip application (e.g. sip client) and launch this client on WM 6 device ?
If not can we purchase only some sip client licenses from MS ?
Because we want to deploy Voip on our company's winodw mobile devices.
thanks.

Hi,
I've searched but I haven't found any relevant topic to my question:
I have a PNA (Neverloss but I don't think it's important). It's based on Windows CE .NET CORE 4.2. My friend want me to start the "normal" GUI (to install 3rd party programs, etc..). Is it possible? Is it possible to make the device not to start the Navigation Program? As far as I know that windows mobile = windows CE + GUI. Are the GUI files completely left out?
plz help... thx!
Try desktopfree! Works perfectly.

look around in the subsections of these forums of the Artemis, there are lots of guides posted how to unlock your Artemis [ USPL ] and then safely flash your phone with a WM 6.1 or 6.5 [ recommended ] rom.

Dear friends,
I just want to have some test program for my HD2 and already logged into MS website for download SDK. However, after a while, I really confused that many supplemented support program should be installed.
I would like to search for your kind support for:
1. What is neccessary programs I have to install???
2. What should be installed first, and then, and then...
Many thanks
I wanted to downgrade my pocket pc os to it's original rom because the windows mobile 5 does not have a transcriber.thanks
Hello nfstanton,
I don't have any i-Mate ROMs, but would be willing to search if I know more about what you need. I bet the following information might help others want to help you...
Could you list the model name or number of your i-Mate?
Are you trying to downgrade to 2003 or 2002? With or without phone? What language ROM?
Any chance you know the ROM version number that you want?
Wishing you success.
ph10b windows mobile 2003..thanks
LOL - I see that is a hard to find ROM... HTC Worldwide doesn't even list the Himalaya on their Support page anymore. Other resources I checked don't have it in repository either.
One quick fix may be to Download the install package for Transcriber direct from M$. It is listed for WM 2002, but may work under WM 5.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...c3-2eee-41e3-9339-f7b303f4b386&DisplayLang=en
They have it in English, French and German...
Or
Here on xda I found an "All Himalaya WM 6.x ROMs" thread by user maggie
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379017
Lots of ROMs in multiple languages to choose from...
Some of the links might still be good... Maybe an Upgrade instead of a Downgrade??? Especially since WM 2003 is next to be phased out of support by M$.
P.S.: I'll still poke around looking for the WM 2003 a bit... Post back if either option above solves your problem so I don't keep searching needlessly.
Here is a Blog with info and working download link for a cooked version of WM2003 ROM which installs on all Himalaya... (It appears to be an English Language ROM)
http://softdown-guddu.blogspot.com/2009/09/alpine-wm2003-rom-11100-wwe.html
Another xda thread: "Genuine English WM2003 SE upgrade for Himalaya uploaded here"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=230279
Note that the files are attachments in the Original Post so you must be logged on to see them - if that doesn't work you may need 8 posts for full link status...
And a working download link for "himalaya_wm2003se_upgrade"
http://www.4shared.com/file/Z9RZUIFQ/himalaya_wm2003se_upgrade.html
That's all from me unless you post back that you need more help.
Best of Luck,
RumoredNow
Thanks
Thank You VERY MUCH for helping me You're like a angel sent from above i will never forget you
Yay!!!!
I'm glad you found an answer. Honestly, that post made my day. Thanks Bro.
There's a little problem
I'm having difficulty changing the operator in the WM2003 nbk and radio files..it says that i have to use command prompt and enter the words in the instructions so i entered them and it says that it doesn't recognize the syntax...How do you really change the operator ID of the ROM? Please elaborate the steps..if you can. Thanks
I'm honestly not up to speed on Radio Stacks... There is a large group of threads for your device here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=243
Or maybe try the xda wiki pages?
