Yes me too. Got mine from devicewire (still have about 60 in stock if anyone wants one), but then due to a misunderstanding with Clove found out that they are also sending me one out and have already charged my card! Not sure if its coming tomorrow as well, if not I'm hoping I can cancel. I'm not even sure I can afford to go home and be killed by my missus. Still, what she doesnt know wont hurt her. Just need to sell my eee pc and HTC S730 that I bought last week now.

So Clove actually have stock now? They haven't updated their website.

Yeah they have stock although not sure if its for people who have already pre-ordered. Devicewire.com do have 60 free stock (available to everyone). Luckily as I work in mobile technology I can claim that my many devices are 'from work'.

I also have two on order, one from clove and one from expansys-usa. I think the clove will get here first and then I can cancel the one from expansys. This will be the second from expansys that I have canceled.

Managed to cancle my Clove one although wish that had come first as it was cheaper.

HTC Shift in a London Store (INKINO again!!!)
Just a quick heads-up. Inkino have their stock in and also have one HTC Shift out on demo. It is better then I expected. Surfing was very quick and they let me try it with my SIM card so that there was no 'smoke and mirrors'. There is a nice protective case in the box too. The actual box looks like a big box of chocolate so sneaking it past the missus should be a breeze....
I witnessed 5 going out of the door whilst I was there so it is safe to say that this is going to be a hugely popular machine. Any voicecall hacks yet??
For those who are not aware, Inkino are at 48 Tottenham Court Road and 9 Great Russell Street in Central London and also at www.inkino.co.uk I have no business connection with these guys apart from being an addicted customer who appreciates the old-school style of service.

This seller seems to have multiple G1's to sell, the price is insane but that's what you get for a pre-release device, if anybody's interested go for it and come back with information.

Exactly, it would only get EDGE on AT&T... Why do you think I'd never buy one for myself?
And yeah, full price is $399 but considering they're already sold out and then some on preorders, good luck getting one any time soon.
I could get the phone for like $450-460 shipped right now, but like I said, I have no use for it. There are people paying $1000+ for them, so I figured 600 wouldn't be too bad for both sides.

The pre-order alottment is sold out, yes. The stores in 3G areas will be getting them on Oct. 22nd though. I guess if someone in a non-3G market wanted one ASAP and didn't want to wait until 11/10 -- might be happy to find you

There won't be plenty in stores, if you preordered before October 3rd you'll get yours shipped 22nd-23rd, if you preorder after it'll take them longer to get it to you. I'm willing to bet this turns out to be a lesser iPhone surge, but like I said it's irrelevant to me because I have AT&T. I was going to buy and re-sell it, instead I just gave the guy who asked me contact info of where to get it for $460, I'm too lazy to go through that.

Yeah can't say im shocked about people like this who try and rip people off, if i had that much money to spend on a phone it sure wouldn't be spent on the g1!!

I have mine for a few hours and already have it listed on eBay. I had to just touch it and look at it and now .. UP FOR AUCTION. I have the Xperia on order. I think it comes the end of the month. All I know is Windows Mobile.
Any way .. the phone is awesome. The thing I like the best as to the way it is built is the slide mechanism of the keyboard,. I think I have owned just about every GOOD PHONE out this year, including the HTC Touch Pro .. this keyboard is the nicest and the feel and the weight is just perfect. Hoping I like my Xperia as well ...

... I couldn't do it .. My auction was over $300 and I cancelled all bids and put my sim card back in. I will probably still buy the Xperia when it comes out - unless I fall in love with the dream. And if I don't I think I will give the Dream to my son rather than 'scalp' it on eBay.
Haven't had time to figure out how to just do the simple things .. I want to learn how to voice dial .. When I close a program is it really CLOSED or is it still running in the background sucking the life out of my battery ?? Maybe tonight I will take a closer look . . couldn't skip work 2 days in a row.

Viable to purchase unlocked g1's off ebay?
Hey guys,
I've found some "unlocked" handsets on ebay for sale, but was wondering if they would still be restricted to the 2g network??
As that's where I thought they were currently with their "unlocking" process...
Also does T-Mobile do anything special in order for gmail to push mail to the device, or is that just like controlled entreily over a standard data connection?

2g/3g isn't a restriction. Its a hardware limitation.

When the phone is fully unlocked it will work on any network with both 2G and 3G.

From what I know it will not work with ATT 3G as they are different frequencies and I have heard lots of problems with peoples Unlocked G1's syncing to google/gmail under other carriers other than T-Mobile.

[Poll] - The Focus is almost here. Who's getting one Monday?

In just about two days the WP7 is coming out. Who all is planning on getting one Monday?

Anyways it would be nice to get it ASAP since my current wm 6.5 is falling apart. The FB app stop working and now the AP too.
Also everyday it gets more slugish and bugy etc. I'm tired of it.

I think the Focus will have a very nice display, but not sure about the plastic exterior. I'll be getting a Venue Pro, but that's also because I'm with T-Mobile. So my only choices are HD7 and VP. HTC has been cutting too many corners this time, so they will not be getting my money until higher quality phones start getting produced by them again.

i'm on t mobile too but since i'm 90% of the time have wifi so i'm probably going to wait and get the focus if it can be unlocked or the venue pro

Getting the phone yet bummed my 32GB Mico SD has been delayed shipping from an Amazon supplier. Wanted to load the phone right off the bat with maximum memory too.
EDITED: Decied to cancel the Class 2 32GB and get the Class 6 16GB

Ill have one Monday or possibly Sunday since that's when the AT&T stores actually get the phones. The guy at the store said he would call me Sunday when the phones arrive but I have my doubts.

I'm leaving sprint and HTC evo to try one out.

Strange they would get them on Sunday. Didn't know there were companies that did deliveries on Sunday. I went to the local Best Buy mobile yesterday and they already had the Surround. He hadn't even heard of the Focus.

I'll chime in on that - I plan on being there first thing Monday, but I will call tomorrow to see if they'll sell early. I've been calling since Thursday since that's when the Captivate was being sold early, but they've been pretty adamant about not selling these early. When I did call, they mentioned I could pick it up on Sunday, but when I went into the store today, both the regional manager and store manager said I'd have to wait. I'll just call tomorrow and see who's working

I called one of the stores today and they had the Focus but wouldn't sell. Dropped by Best Buy and they showed me the Surrounds, but they didn't even know when they would get the Focus. Sucks because I think I could have one if they had them. I'll try to get one from a retail AT&T tomorrow. If not, I'm going to be late for work Monday

Does anyone know what GPS chip is getting put in this phone. If it is the same one that they put in their Galaxy S phones I'm going to have to pass. I have a Captivate and the GPS is worthless.

I've seen a lot of people concerned about that as well. All the reviews I've seen said it's much better than the Galaxy phones. So I assume its a different chipset or better drivers.

I believe it's different also since this hardware is completely different that the SGS phones. Also, Bill Gates is using it, so I'd assume it'd work or he'd be on a different phone

Just home from the AT&T store.
Got a $100 "loyalty" discount, a 20% percent discount on the 32 gig memory card, (final price of $110) and 2 usb cords. Total cost out the door is $248.
The salespeople in the store knew nothing about the phone. They were asking me questions about it.
I was the first person to ask for one today.

I'm guessing he got lucky - I called 3 stores today, and none would give it out today. This includes the primary AT&T store in Houston.

Yep, I was even given a time tomorrow that they'll be allowed to give them out - 3 p.m. Not sure if I buy that, but he did say I was the only person who even asked

They didn't act like it was any big deal. I asked for one, and he just went into the back of the store and got it.
I had gone in last Wednesday to ask if they had the approved microsd card, and they said that they didn't have anything in the store yet, but that I could come in on Sunday and pick up the phone.
I'm having trouble with Zune. I can't get Zune to see the phone when I plug it into the computer. I don't know if it is because I already have a Zune 80 assigned to the computer or not.
Other than that, it is pretty snazzy.
I've been with AT&T for several years. 10 maybe? They weren't AT&T at the time...

I read that the Wifi version will launch in Europe round about the same time as the full 3g one. Any ideas? I'm planning to get one (wifi) from Italy, when my dad goes up there in May, if it is out then.

The wifi version comes out in UK in the first week of April, so I am guessing it should be around the same time in rest of Europe, give or take a week.

Never used them, but they are a reputable seller. Forgot to mention that their price does not include Customs duty.
Another importer that has it at the cheapest price is have2have. Their pricing is the total cost. But I am not sure if they are a reputable seller, trying to find out and will let you know.
The advantage of ordering from aureustech is they provide 6 months after sales support.

Yeah, if you planning on getting the 3g version from europe/UK I suggest you get a Cell C 2gb data sim for R999. I use it for my phone and it works great and I get good speeds.

That doesn't sound so bad, but I am fed up of cancelling orders.
Gonna wait for clove to ship it, I am pretty sure all shops in UK are going to have their shipments delayed as both Handtec and Clove are reporting delays.

I bought one from Expansys UK. Got delivery on Saturday via DHL. Pretty awesome. Cost me about 37k all inclusive (including duty and shipping)

i am getting it from handtec shipped to UAE, as my friend is coming this sunday from there.... it came to 34k including the shipping & pound conversion from dirhams.... i hope its the best i can get for this beauty....

My Samsung Galaxy S2 3G Speeds Are Very Slow
I got really happy today when I discovered XDA developers through Google. There seems to be a wealth of information on this forum.
I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy S2 in India and I have to say, the quality exceeded my expectations, seriously.
I also signed up for Airtel's 3G service, and the service was working fine for the first 2-3 days with speeds exceeding ~3mbps (>3000kbps).
However, here is where my problem started:
Just a couple of days back I was simultaneously downloading a bunch of free Apps from the Marketplace and somewhere in the middle my 3G speeds dropped. I seriously don't know what happened. I have the flexible package from Airtel which gives 1.25 gigabytes, and according to my phone, I've used only 550 megabytes at that time.
Now, my speeds are locked at 40kbps (according to Speedtest and web browsing experience) and I don't if it is my phone having the issue or if it is my SIM or Airtel Prepaid account (I am 99.9% percent I have not exceeded the balance or else talktime would have already been deducted by now), or a technical glitch on Airtel's server-end.
I have tried disabling / enabling fast dormancy, disabling / enabling HSPDA, configuring WCDMA Only, and manually configuring the Airtel settings. Yet, none of that worked.
I am feeling very frustrated and would appreciate any help in addressing this matter. Thanks in advance.
