If I schedule a task to remind me on a specific date it will ring at 8am on that day. Why is there no ability to specify a time on that date too? Can i do this by setting some option somewhere? I have looked in all the settings I can find!
Nope you need a third party program like:
alarmToday v1.21
http://www.pocketmax.net/
The Big Boys!
Agenda Fusion (PIM)
http://www.developerone.com/pocketpc/fusion/
Pocket Informant
The ultimate in Personal and Business Information Management.
http://www.pocketinformant.com/
HTH
I use Agenda Fusion. I've noticed that even though I've set a task to go off at a time before 8am, the blinking reminder still goes off again at 8am aswell. This is a real nusance. :x
Can anyone advise please?
Hello
I have the same need. Where 'registry' change time remind for task when i use default task manager ?
I use also AlarmToday, but only possibilty is to change time where task is view, for example at 11h AM, but alarm will ring at 11h AM and task dissapear after. Also i use AlarmToday function to set Tsak at 11h PM (23h) to see this alarm all the day.
Any idea ?
Hi. Quick question. Per
http://www.phm.lu/PocketPC/RegTweaks/Tweak.asp?ref=52
it is possible to display date above time on top of the screen but this hack results in date displayed in DD/MM/YY format on my XDA2.
Does anyone know of a different value for this registry key that will display date in DD/MM format along with the time?
Thanks in advance & best regards
In our case, the XDA II registry does not have any entries for HLM\nls\overrides so you will have to create the same.
SSDte -- the short date style d M yy
change to dd/MM
Thanks for your reply but I am a little confused. Sorry.
Are you saying I should change the system wide short date format from dd/mm/yy to dd/mm to achieve my goal? If yes any ideas how I can do this without using Control Panel / Regional Settings applet? The Date tab there has preset formats in the drop down and does not allow me to enter dd/mm as a format.
Is I totally misread it can you kindly re-iterate? Thanks a lot!!!
What you have todo is:
1st set the desired format in control panel
2nd apply the registry tweak
The date displayed after the soft reset is in the format you've set in the control panel regional settings
Success
Right. I got it so far. Now the question is how can I se tthe short date format to be DD/MM then. The control panel does not have this as an entry in the selection drop down and does not allow free form entry.
Thanks for your help. Regards
In registry go to
HKLM\nls\overrides
Create a new string key which is named SSDte and give is the value dd-MM
it works like a charm
greets
Thanks a lot! That worked great!!!! The key was there actually in my case and was set to d/M/Y. Changing it to dd/MM was simple enough. I tried changing the setting through the Control Panel applet and I observe that whatever setting I change it to gets to be stored in HKLM\nls\overrides under SSDte and once I change it to anything but dd/MM this option is no longer in the drop down. Thanks for the pointer.
Would you also happen to know where I need to go for changing the time format from 12H to 24H? My Today screen shows 4:56 right now and I would like to show 16:56 if possible. Your help is most appreciated.
Time Format
Let me first clearify that what I told you is the same as told by zabes64.
The time format is done in the same registry part
If there is a key STFmt then change this if it is not then create it (string type)
The time format is as follows:
H 24 hours no leading zero
HH 24 hours with leading zero
m minutes no leading zero
mm minutes with leading zero
s seconds no leaing zero
ss seconds with leading zero
Think you would enter something like HH:mm:ss of HH:mm etc.
Choice is yours
markutah, thank you sooo much!!! this worked great! Now I know one more way to make my XDA look & work just the way I like it. Thank you very much!

markutah or anyone else, I have followed these instructions perfectly and I get the date in the correct format and the time in 24 hour format but no matter what I do it will not show me the seconds....I am missing something or is this not possible.
a small digital clock glued to your chosen place on the screen would be ideal, no impact on ram or storage either.

Now was this suppose to be helpful????
TaskBarDate
The registry-editing-nerds like myself, can also use a nice freeware called TaskBarDate with the same results.

Thanks, very curious. Just tried to do this again (ROM reinstalled). Date & time great except for seconds. Rebooted, and now my PocketBreeze does not display on the Today screen. Go to settings and it is still checked off, tried rebooting still nothing.
I have only 7 items in my settings and 6 are checked.
Removed these settings and rebooted, PB is back.

Sure, go to options, calendar and then change the num of days to 30 or less. It will only show/scroll up to 30.
Thnx allot for the quick solution
To set beyond 30 days you need modify the "dNumOfDays" value on the registry location "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SBSH\PocketBreeze\Calendar" with the newer versions of PocketBreeze you'll be able to modify this value up to 120 instead of 30, which was the built in limitation with older versions. Keep in mind that the more dates you load it will take PB more time to load of course, but this depends on the amount of PIM information that you have on your device per day and so on.
Hope this helps .
I've got an appointment set up in Outlook on the PC for 7pm-11:30pm this evening.
When I synchronised, the home screen on the HD says "Tomorrow 19:00 - 23:30" instead of "Today"
If I tap the appointment on the home screen to enter the calendar program, it correctly shows under today's date, with nothing tomorrow.
Possible bug in TouchFlo ?
Anyone else seen this ?
Or am I being really dumb and missing something obvious ?
EDIT : After a soft reset, the word "tomorrow" vanishes. So it looks like TouchFlo failed to update the home screen properly until the device was reset.
my bug is different
I have a different bug, no mine doesnt seem to do what you say... as far as I can see...
My bug is that when you set in options to always display day, week or month view and you quit calendar and start it again, bang it goes back to Agenda view (which is rubbish)... is there a fix to get it to stay in what its asked to stay in.

I'm seeing the same thing. When selecting the calendar or appointment from touchflo it always takes you to the agenda view as opposed to the default view you select in the calendar.

I was having the same issue.
I needed to reset my device (Pressing power button until it gives the pop up to turn off) and once it came back now it is working fine..
I can set it which way I want now and the setting is sticking...
...and more:
I got all of them... calender always opening in agenda view, a TOMORROW instead of a TODAY until reset, AND another one: IF you activate lets say THREE alarms, only the first one shows up on the today screen, no matter what time it is... So if it the first alarm is over, my Touch ELF's display would change to show to the next open one, but the HD does NOT. Ridiculous...
I see 4 every day all the call.!?Sync by activesync. How to delette this sync?
I too am bothered with this problem.
I want my calendar view set to Month view. So I've choosen Month view form the options and everything seems OK. However, everytime I choose calendar from the home screen it briefly starts in Month view, and then opens the agenda view.
I've tried everything I could find on the net to solve this problem, including:
- Adjusting the calendar to month view and afterwards soft-resetting my HD. Still the same problem.
- Adding -vm to the shortcut in the calendar shortcuts in the Windows directory and in the Windows/Startup directory. this opens the calendar in month view, but from the Home screen still no success.
- Searching the registry for relevant settings, but i'm not knowledgeable enough yet to find the correct ones.
By the way, if I set my calendar view to Day or Week, the same type of problem occurs.
Since I really don't like the Agenda view this really starts to annoy me.
Any other thoughts out there on something I could try?
Regards, Jack
i have the same problem! does anyone know abetter more fingerfriendly calendar program with tf3d integration?
Deixi
Strange stuff...
I don't have the problem everybody describes, but instead next day appointments show with a DS_TOMORROW: prefix instead of Tomorrow: The font is big and it occupies quite a lot of space, looks buggy and pretty annoying.
With regard to a finger friendly calendar - I used Agenda One, but it doesn't work from TF3D Home screen by default - the link needs to be edited, and I can't find the thread where the way to do it was described.
With regard to opening the calendar in the "right" view, it should be relatively easy to fix.
Searching the registry won't help because the links in RF3D seem to be hardcoded - this is the bad news.
The good news is that there's a Manila Patcher which allows to change things. If you know the arguments (somebody mentioned -vm), you can change those.
With regard to today's events prefixed with "Tomorrow", it seems that this is indeed a Manila bug, it just doesn't refresh data. You don't have to reset the device, disabling and enabling Manila is enough. This is not a workaround of course, because resetting is actualy easier, just to reiterate that TF3D is at fault.
Not 100% sure, but if I'm using the device around midnight then TF3D doesn't roll the appointments. If I'm not then it does.
Could be a complete red-herring though. . .
Does HTC have any bug tracking system available for the public, at least for submitting bugs?
Thanks for the tip on SSMaPa vangrieg!
Installed it, added "-vm" in the arguments box belonging to calendar.exe, and after some messages I am now enjoying my calendar in glorious Month view!
And before I forget, the other possible arguments are: -vd for Day view, -vw for Week view, -vy for Year view and of course -va for the dreaded Agenda view
By the way, this is what HTC Support mailed me after just one day's wait:
In order to solve your problem, you will need to hardreset your device. All data and settings will be deleted, so please back-up all your data first. Remove your SIM and memory card and go to Start, Settings, System, Clear Storage and follow the on-screen instructions.

Might try that some day, but for now this seems to be werking fine!

I too have this problem, and the thing at fault here is apparently the Touch Flo 3D interface. Just as described in the original post, the calendar app itself displays everything correctly, but on the Today Screen in Touch Flo, "tomorrow" entries do not change over to "today entries" when the date changes, i.e. it fails to update.
A soft reset does indeed correct the problem, but it is also sorted out if you change the calendar content in some way. This morning, for instance, I made a simple edit (changed the location variable) in one of the entries, and PRESTO! - the entries on the Today screen were properly presented.
Now, I'm not a programmer, but it seems to me that the Today screen doesn't recognise a date change as something that should trigger an update. Shouldn't it be able to force this somehow?
Speaking about Calendars, does anyone know how to change the text color of the topic while on the TFLO3D home screen.
It is a grey color and it makes it impossible to read.
Hi there, I have the same bug with Touch Flo, but no need to reset the phone. Just go in Start / Settings / Today, untick Touch Flo, do OK, this closes the Touch Flo applications. Then rego there to tick Touch Flo, this runs Touch Flo with the right information.
HTC advised me to hard-reset the device. The problem continues.
Soft resetting touch-flo does seem to cure the problem of the immediate appointment, but it is not a permanent fix.

I have another bug in the calendar of the Touch HD.
When I create an all-day event with a reminder, it just doesn't remind me : no ring, no vibe, just the screen that is switched on, and the pop-up appear. But it works fine with a regular appointment. Do you have the same bug ?
I don't know about you guys but i wanted to test this out so i entered some false appointments for 3 days in a row and i'm on the 2nd day and it has worked wonderfully.
It doesn't say 'today' but the top rows are showing today and has 'tomorrow' for the the appointment tomorrow.
I waited till midnight and it did roll over.
Or is this problem only via syncing from Outlook or something?
I have entered a few bogus meetings for the next day on the phone itself to test out your theory and on midnight the Tomorrow tag simply stayed there.
So once again I have no idea what triggers the bug.
I have migrated my data from my old PDA to the HD2 - and -
I have several "appointements" that are daily and were set to a certain time.
On the HTC calendar they now show one hour prior to the time I set
(On the older PDA) - What's more - If I run the calendar forward -
to June - these "Appointements" get back to their original time.
My conclusion from that is - that it has to do with the daylight savings calculations.
**Edit: when the reminder pops up (An hour early) it does display the CORRECT appointement time
**Edit2: if you want to test it - create a daily appointement at a certain time, and in the calendar - go to June -
open one of the days - and see that the apointement has moved to an hour later
Another thing is - an appointement reminder pops up -
I only have a button to dismiss and a button to snooze.
The problem is - I cannot choose how long to snooze (neither by tapping the button, nor by holding the button down for a few seconds).
Has anyone else experienced these problems ?
Another question I have is :
Is there a way to make the reminder sound repeat ?
On the old PDA, i could check the check-box in "Sound and notifications" settings -
and that made the Reminder sound repeat every 30-60 seconds -
On the HD2 this check-box is disabled.
(Y would I need it to repeat - well, if I left it on te table and went away for a few moments,
and I missed the notification - I wolu want it to sond again)
(ROM ver: 1.43.405.1 (70124)
Manila: 2.5.19202525)
Ok, two of the problems I resolved
(
Notification Snooze:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5032530
Notification Sound Repeat:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=460368
)
Now - Im only left with the daylight savings issue.
Is there a way to disable automatic DST ? - I dont mind setting it manually
Is there a way to fix the calendar ?
Anyone ?
Hmmm

I would also appreciate it if people who tried it, and saw a correct behavior
(An appointment that was set to repeat daily, using the "repeat"/recurring option, appeared at the same time all year long)
coult specify that -
So I would check how/why Im the only one with the problem
Thanks In Advance.
Anyone got a fix for the Daylight saving issue???? is there a registry tweak??
Im Having problems with DST too, is there a way to disable it, HTC support is useless (beening talking to them for 1 week and none of the "solutions"they give me work) and there is no MS support for win mo 6.5 at all.
They set Buenos Aires where I live as if we use DST which we don't and every appointment is 1 hr ahead, and every time I sync the HD2 with outlook or any time service the clock goes 1 hour ahead and have to change it manually again.
Thanks!
As much as I hate to pull this thread from the "dead"
Sadly - The problem with daylight savings had returned.
I will describe it again -
if you have an appointment that was set to - lets say - 18:00,
and you are in a timezone with daylight savings enabled (in my case - GMT+2 = Jerusalem),
When the system thinks you are in daylight savings period, it moves the appointment according to the daylight savings difference - meaning - it will set it to be on 19:00.
I thought the last (official) ROM upgrade had solved this problem, since It did not occur this time,
that it until yesterday.
Yesterday, my device stopped responding, and I had to pull out the battery.
When I returned the battery to the device and turned it on - the Date-Time-Timezone got "Resetted".
When I set them back - and set Timezone to GMT+2=Jerusalem - the phenomenon re-appeared.
(another thing I discovered (by mistake) is that - If I set it to GMT+2=pretoria the appointments stay at their original time)
Had anyone else encountered this ?
Was anyone else able to resolve this ?
Thanks

Sure, but - how do I do that ?
It automatically sets the clock by itself according to the current date, and according to the date it "knows" summer time starts and ends . . .
