So, I have a friend in electronics, wont go into specifics, and he gave me a HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) and I want to unlock it. Problem is, I dont know how. I only know how to unlock the Elfin.
I know the geeks here at XDA are working hard on a Hard-SPL, and I want to help by putting my phone on the line to test it out, and hope it works.
Who would I contact, and what needs to be done?
Jeff

Hi,
I happen to run an orphanage for abandoned PPCs and iPhones .
If it were to be your choice, your HTC would find a new home with me where it could make a lot of friends and have an happy live.
Regards,
WOW............that was nice of you guys!
Yes i am a noob and all i wanted ws some advice on how to make the phone work.
Can it be done? or no.
when you say nothing works, can you at least power the thing on?
i think this is the wrong subforum
anyway
whats wrong with the phone? it doesnt turn on? please elaborate on the problem.
bootloader mode
start by trying to get into bootloader mode.
if you can do that it's a good start.
after that, try to CID unlock.
hey..
Yes i got it to boot up......and that is it..........???
other than booting up, nothing else works
First off, you're posting in the wrong place..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=316
The ppl that would best know how to fix a P3300 would usually be loitering P3300 sub-forum no?
But before you post there, do provide more details. Your current post resembles those people that tech support hate. It's not working describes absolutely nothing and gets you pretty much no response than to junk it and buy a new one. The more information about the current state of the phone you provide the better others can help you. Even the greatest rom cookers of all time are generally not psychic..
THANK YOU BUDDY.............
Really thank you so much!
I will describe more fully on what is wrong! Thank you once again
+1 deadsea,
tell us more, it boots ok, do you reache the windows "desktop"?
can you access any menu?
Where does it hang, if it hangs?
HAve you tried a hard reset? (when phone is on, hold red and green, press reset holding red and green, release reset but keep holding red and green, on prompte, release both and press green if I recall, I sold mine about 3 months ago)
Give us max of info if you want help.
I'm going to move this thread...
I already made a contract with Orange, I get HTC touch HD, as we know, it is locked only for Orange. Is there any way to unlock it, to make it sim free.
Regards.
Yes, but so far there is no free tool. You can get an unlock code fo money.
thank you for your reply.
Do you recommend any? where I can find them? I will pay no problem

Are the orange phone directy re flashable too ?
I've been looking at the rom's with interest
Gary
Can´t help you with your problem, but next time please use a more meaningful thread title to attract the attention of people and also help the search engine...
"HTC touch HD" in a HTC Touch HD forum may not be the best attention getter, don´t you think?
I installed the HSPL for the 1024 HD2 all went smooth then I proceeded to flash a Energy rom and all was smooth. Then I downloaded a dutty rom from 3/28 that I find out later was not the right one flash went accordingly 100%. The phone did not restart. It will not turn on. No power on and no light when charging. No bootloader mode, no regular boot nothing. I read you might be able to bring it back so i was wondering if you guys could help me out. I plug it in and says it has the wrong drivers. So is there a way to take it back to stock as I cant get mh money back on this phone?
Shokouhi
oops, another non starting tmous after bad radio flash.
same problem HERE and HERE (post three) and HERE , , it's also mentioned in the mtty and the HSPL (regular HSPL and tmous HSPL) threads.

So is it safe to assume that there is no way to fix this? Because none of these things in the other threads have worked for them and they have not worked for me. With the current state would they be able to tell it was flashed if I send it to tmobile? Or I am good to send it in for an exchange?
if they can make the phone boot to bootloader then they will see hspl and refuse to replace it.(shouldn't matter what rom is on it, its the hspl that invalidates it.)
if they can't start it, then you are in theory safe.
I have seen a few people say they got it replaced, but I would be quick!
I won't say there is no fix, just no ones mentioned one yet

plus one for me. same exact thing happened with dutty's newest rom. so now i have a nice brick sitting here. still searching.
This will not be fun because i purchased the phone from wirefly and not tmobile...so i am not sure walking into the local tmobile store will be of any help.

dont forget the phone is manufacturer warrantied for 1 year, plus wirefly are legaly bound to support you for a while too.
Tear a hole in your short's pocket and go jogging. After the run you'll realize your HD2 is no longer in your pocket. Report it lost and pay your deductible.

lol nice!
same here. I just got my phone like 7 hours ago and I already brick it coz I accidentally flash it to the wrong ROM. So I went back to the Tmobile store today and they try to swap the batteries and think that its just the batteries. Then, they can't figure it out whats wrong with it. The manager said he's going to call once he get his shipment of HD2 and replace it.

Has anyone been able to work out a "Bootloader Repair" programme that will help people bring these bricked HD2's back by re-flashing the loader on the the flash memory?
I imagine a hundreds of HD2 fans will need it...
Can I just pay someone here on XDA to unlock my HTC HD2? I would feel safer. Haha.
PM me.
i guess no one knows how.
what all is involved in doing that? it cant be that hard if you find a good set of instructions. that said, i havnt looked in to it.
i tried to figure it out. idk. there isnt much on actually unlocking your phone yourself out there. -.-'
Hello.. i tried to flash official stock rom via sd card method and it said update failed and then i had to take the abttery out. When i try to power the htc hd2 on it vibrates 7 or 8 times and doesn't do anything. no boot no anything. So is it bricked? if so can i repair it somewhere? Please i need it to work..
If no bootloader... Then sorry you phone is bricked... It can be fixed by doing a reinstall of bootloader. And radio using jtag... Google it.. Or search on the ebay you will get it
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

You could probably take it somewhere, but it's expensive and I think it's difficult to find.
If you can't, then you just have an expensive paperweight
take the battery out, make sure the pins in the phone arent bent and then put the battery back in after 30 minutes
hold the down volume button as you turn it on if it still doesnt work you would need to take it toa shop that has a jtag device to fix the issue

there are quite many shops ...you can search on ebay ...and send yor phone to them ...they will fix it and return ...maybe google for a shop near you ..there is also a member in this forum who owns a jtag ...ask mskip for his name ..i have forgotten
if you hd2 failed updating itself ...i would be scared ...cuz it could mean that you have quite a bit of bad bocks in the radio section ..so just check it out ...if you have warranty ..then try to claim it ..tell them that you were updating(mention updating from pc ...not sd card) and it failed in the middle with this error
and 7 short vibrates also point to a hardware problem ...better go to htc and get it checked out ..or O2
