I Just got a Wing (I'm a noob) - Wing, P4350 General

So i just got a t-mobile wing and everything is basically factory settings. I want to customize my phone to look like the touchflo or something of that nature. I looked at a few of the tutorials here but some are confusing because there are somethings they just don't explain. So the whole point of this topic is to see if i can mod my phone with the factory settings that i have on it right now.

what are most of you guys doing to your MDA

I just got an MDA, screen busted and i just replaced it with the service manual. I picked up a 2gb card to use with it. But i know of nothing to do with this phone in terms of mods and programs. What are most of you guys doing right off the bat?
I would like to overclock this unit a little. download that magic button programed to close all the programs and save my battery life. Maybe get a today screen plug in for my mp3 playing.
Are there any stickies or pages that give a rookie a general guide line of the basics that can be done to this phone. I've been a couple of forums and there are always stickies teaching the noobs with general guide lines of the popular things done and questions as well.

Help the new guy

I'm new to the whole customization here. I know how to install a few things, but not quite sure what all i need. I have the 8525 and I want to change my theme. I want some of the features that this phone has:
phone at top
how do i get the weather to look like that- and at the top of the screen
is that a seprate program, or what.
also the icons under that. thanks for any help
the weather thing is called htc home, you can find it all over this forum. in fact, someone just has another thread on this in this very forum with a download link in there.
and the icons at the bottom......the name is in the thread title of that link
Sorry guys, just figured it out, and thought it would have been more complicated. Turns out I wasn't asking much
Mate, word of advice, before you start flashing OS's PLEASE READ A BIT AND HARD SPL YOUR PHONE.......(makes it easier to recover if/when something goes wrong) I think most people have had experiance with a brick at one time or another...
We dont mind helping out with stuff ( it can be fun to help and gives a nice fuzzy feeling when things go right) but if you research a bit first you will generally find your question has been answered MULTIPLE times over. If you still have problems ask away... Answers will be more forthcoming when people see some research has been done...
Anyways, Welcome and happy flashing...

Custom programs in bottom curtain

I have searched this entire site for a couple of days now and have yet to find what I'm looking for so I appologize if there is another thread out there like this one. I'd like to thank you guys first of all for all of the tweaks and hacks. I have had my hd2 for just over two weeks now and I was about to give it back but after I added all these hacks and tweaks and saw just what this phone was capable of, I'm definitely gonna hold onto it a while. During all of my searching I've learned a bit more about hacking the registry. The hd2 comes with a certain number of icons in the bottom curtain that slide back and forth. Well I don't use twitter, but love facebook. I have been trying to get facebook in the options to add it to the slider menu in the bottom curtain. Some of the registry files are located in hklm\software\htc\manila. I would appreciate any advice on how to edit the registry to achieve this. thanks in advance.

Im new and need advice

Ok first off this is my first winmo phone which is the T-Mobile HTC HD2. The phone is great. The first issue I have on all phones is that I like bein able to customize it to the max!!!
But IDK were to start and how to do anything But I would really like some input and advice and be pointed in the right direction to make this phone my perfect for me!!
PM me anytime.
Thanks
Im the same way... I want to be able to customize it how I want! Sometimes I feel like I could develope apps better than the manufacturer themselves! lol But no not really... I'd have to teach myself first.
get started in the regular hd2 section 'themes and apps' thread. Co0kies home tabs and max manilla will probably be your first stops.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=535
dont worry that you have a tmous and not a regular hd2, its only roms and radios that know the difference between the phones.
MODS
Definitaley you have to get ahold of cookies home tab and editor. They are a must have!!! try this site.... http://hd2apps.blogspot.com/ make sure you read carefully before you install anything...it will help you from having to do a factory reset....

How Do I Remove Programs from HD2?

how do i get rid of programs from hd2 and all traces of it from the registry? i want to remove programs i dont use or like. how do i that? and how do i get rid of traces of them from the registry?
Settings/applications/choose application, then uninstall.
Assuming you are using Windows mobile, go to Settings > Remove Applications.
Choose the App and Click Remove. This is the default uninstallation method.

does anyone here really know how to remove programs? I read somewhere that you go to start > file explorer > windows > start menu and remove programs you dont like. but does this method remove the program itself or the shortcut? again, i need to remove the program, its shortcut, and any traces of it from the registry.
Does SKTools do the job?

troll? lol good one mate, people have tried to help you but you have said to each and every reply that they are wrong, yes or no? if you are talking about removing preinstalled apps that are part of the rom then you need to explain more clearly as to remove applications you have personally installed is the method that the 2 posters abover have given
if 3 people are telling you the same info then maybe its your way of thinking and your attitude is the troll like one here mate, people are trying to help you out
and you have no fear i have no intention of trying to help you out in future
Blimey, and I thought I was special, being banned from his threads, seems anyone can join the "stop attacking me you're a troll" club.

I think you are talking about removing aps that are preinstalled in a ROM. If this is the case then yes the way that has been posted will not work. There is a thread on here somewhere about hoe to remove preinstalled apps but I can not remember exactly where it is. Do a searh here in HD2 General forum, in the HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A and general forum, and in the HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Development forum. You might have to keep changing your search terms also use advance search and try jist searching thread titles and not posts to see if you have more luck if searching post keep coming up empty.
OP, you should edit your first post here to clarify what you are trying to do. It seems like several members were trying to help you and you haven't been very polite with your responses. If the replies get out of hand this thread will be closed.

newbie or not doesnt mean you have to give the type of responses you have, ive noticed your other posts seem to be very confrontational aswell, but if 3 people are giving the same answers then you either havent asked correctly or assume they are incorrect
i have asked if it is the preinstalled rom stuff but you have, again, ignored to answer that and go off on a tangent about being a troll, how can we be trolls? or maybe you need to look up the definition of a troll

its not that... i just noticed many trolls on my past threads and some people dont take others seriously. thats all. at times, i have to give responses like the ones i've given as defense against people who i perceive as trolls. its a defense mechanism i got. its helped me in life.
i didnt see your post about uninstalling preinstalled apps. i just want to know if i can remove both the shortcuts and traces in the registry. if so, how? i read somewhere that ppl have removed preinstalled apps, but their shortcuts remained on the phone.
