Yes that is legit. But I am sorry I wont be buying it. I buy a lot of stuff on ebay and that is well overpriced. If you want it go for it. But hey I find that overpriced.

The one on ebay has Operation System : Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 for PocketPC Phone (World Wide English).... so that kinda solves your problem of the english ROM. And it solves another of your problems that you havent mentioned. That is the chinese characters on the keyboard. i am sure you wouldnt want that. But it is $1500USD...

The one being sold here by WU15903 whatever his name is.... err he is selling for $1300USD right? But it has a chinese ROM for now not a big deal because you can overflash it. But there is one problem that the keyboard has chinese characters on it. So it is certainly a option i wouldnt choose. Almost the same price. I guess those are the only two ways to get it for you...

That's interesting wu. Never thought of how simply that could be done. I'm definitely up for a sturdier keyboard anyway and an extra number row would make life easier.

Believe it or not, the dealbreaker will be if it can fit in my pants pocket and I can handle the discomfort.
Can someone please post a picture of this thing in your pocket or something to help me decide. Once I know, I will buy! I like the one on ebay, but paying 1500 is outrageous. I will wait until it comes down around 1100 or so. I would take either the silver or black one.

Ok if you want the black one order it from 972telecom.com. thats where i have also placed my pre-order. Its around $1000CDN on pre-order. Much cheaper than the dopod u1000 and much better. Let me know what you decide. You will have to pay $50-$100 on customs. I agree $1500USD is outrageous. And truly its uncomfortable in the pockets of your trousers. There is a high chance you might damage the screen or keyboard in your pocket. It is like a mini-book in the trouser! very discomforting. I am sure you dont need to see pictures for that

Yes all the devices have similar spec's. I just prefer the black one because of the material it uses and I have never possessed a HTC Branded phone before. I dont know how much of your story about dopod is true but they are certainly a huge company like t-mobile. I also like the material HTC used for the body frame part. Anyways the pre-order price is fixed. I can pay it all off now or later. But the price is fixed and i will ask him to send me an invoice/quote to proove it hence.

actually, the devices have exactly the same spec. btw have you hold an Advantage in your hand? did you go to the 3GSM? just want to know that.
Well, if the pre-order price is fix, then you can send a e-mail to expansys or mobile planet to tell them to remove their listing of Advantage, because they won't get any order if the price elsewhere is so much cheaper.
Also, this is just my PERSONAL though, the website you place pre-order on, it doesn't look very professional for me, any one think the same way?

man, i though you have been following the post before, i was one of the tester of Advantage, i actually hold one in front of me before. I don't need to call them, because there is nothing i can find out. Basically, the only difference between them are the colour, material is down to your personal taste, all i can say is DOPOD (probably Ameo as well) is smoother surface, where Advantage is rougher.
One thing i am sure is you will be flashing DOPOD or Ameo Rom in the future.
p.s. And also, i am not saying the store is fake, i am just saying their website doesn't look very professional.

well, if you have place your pre-order, then there is nothing i can say,
although i will suggest any other people who consider buying the Advantage to wait until it's actually in-stock.
If the price is like what nuclear said so much cheaper than the official price, than i am sure all other store will have it as well. Don't rush yourself into this. Better wait and see, maybe you can get a even better deal!

Cool, good news! I been waiting for a more higher end Android model. I heard this one will have the sex appeal of the iphone and HTC Touch Pro II plus the functionality of WM and SE including the Cupcake OS (forbidden word ) plus a 3.5mm headset jack (wtf is that?! HTC users might ask, lol!). Looks like a great phone and am looking forward to it after I get my Touch Pro II (yeah, I will get burnt for saying that in this tiny, little Android thread surrounded by a million WM users, heheheh!) I do worry though, the article and some others state that this might be a DT thing and NOT T-Mobile USA release. Do you have any confirmation from your friend that this WILL BE coming to T-Mo. US?

Like I said, he has the prototype model, so I will try to snap some pics if he chooses to show me tomorrow, as he really isn't supposed to. Haha I ever offered to buy it from him, of course he said he had to decline, not because he didn't want to but because he couldn't. OH and one more major thing, is that the G1 will be released in several new colors, including red, green, and silver during the second quarter. However, that is just coming from him, no confirmation yet.

According to the article, it will have wifi.
It looks nice, has some good updates from the g1, BUT it does not have a slide out keyboard, only soft keyboard. The reason I get HTC phones only now is for the slide out.

All the pictures I've found of this cellphone are the crappy renders that HTC spat out to the retail stores, none of the actuall phone itself. Videos and images of the white phone is everywere though.

Thank you, but that's just a 3d render of the phone which would look nothing like the phone would if I held it in my hand.
I did look for this both on google and youtube before posting here, and I can't find any real imagery of the brown telephone at all.

edit: OK, nevermind. Just every conflicting stories. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3yZjYbs6Mo) has a brown or black version with the coating.
HTC itself said 'for now' only the white version has the coating while they are working on more colors that will have the coating (after initial launch). (press statement)
I guess we will just have to wait and see.
The white one is the _unlocked_ phone. That's why all the pictures and reviews are about the white one. The brown one is the default one 'in combination with a provider'. The pure black one will probably be reserved for T-Mobile (or dark-blue tints somewhere?) etc... I know that T-Mobile will have exclusive black, Orange will have graphite, brown is 'regular' locked and white is unlocked.
So I'm kinda surprised that you can order an unlocked brown version. Or if you are ordering it locked from a provider: I'm kinda surprised you can switch it to white .

I got it from HTC for testing purpose. Work at the largest mobile phone distributor in Norway.
A great phone with a unique UI, great 5MP autofocus camera and Marked with lots of free applications that gives you the possibilities to download programs of your needs. I really love it. In Norway we are still waiting for the Marked with possibilities to buy applications. Will hopefully be released later this year by Google

Also bearing in mind the review focused on two of the 'weaker' aspects of the HD2, the camera and text input, it just shows how good the HD2 really is (I personally think the camera is very good, up with my Ignito/Diamond if not better, and once I installed Swype - wow fantastic!)
I haven't had a single crash, no obvious issues with my 1.48 ROM + camera fix, totally happy so far

the region restricted video content has not been in place long. can't see the point of a site like others that restrict viewing to the UK where it airs anyway.

Errr, how tall are you irl, OP ? Mainly asking to get a visual of your average hand size in my head, cause the phone looks huge in those pictures.

That is the size of X10 a little longer. Photos are closeups and that is why they look like that.
Yep, tried multitouch visible test and I get four points. A fifth finger makes no impression... The four that are there are rock solid, though. Can't say as I see a clear need for all five fingers at the same time, but maybe I'm missing something?

But the digitizer is supposed to support up to 32 so a custom rom will prob make more avalible if needed

For a 4"~ screen 4 is good, more will be necessary for a tablet

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Press Release seminar two days ago in Hong Kong, with actual Engineering sample units to be played with.
Damn this thing is really light. I've also heard that DoCoMo in Japan has released the red colored version exclusively, aside from the silver and dark blue edition that is released as originally announced. The exclusive unit also has double the size of ROM for storage as well!
How I wish I can bring that home right away... haha!
BTW it comes with an HDMI cable if you purchase from online SE or directly from the Sony Store with the arc, but if you purchase Neo, it will not be bundled with.

Thank you for your photos. It is definitely nice to have it!!! I believe the one in Japan is Pink. Correct me if I am mistaken.

Yeah, the "other" colour for Japan is pink The 1gb ROM is a mistake on Docomo's part, and for some reason they chose to not give us the HDMI cable over here (the shop staff I asked didn't even know the Arc had HDMI out )

Is that typical SonyStyle Staff or what? Sometimes when I am @ SonyStyle store, I get the feeling that staff doesn't know anything about Sony product.
