Vodafone blocked Live services - XPERIA X1 General

It appear that Vodafone is blocking windows live mobile over wifi.
Is there any way around through registery.
MSN just doesn't see that there is wifi, All the other apps like opera or IE works fine.
Am dying to get rid of Vodafone crap but hard spl not seems ready yet.

Yep.. same here. Any suggestions those smart people out there?

T-Mobile Internet, Working Apps (IM)?

OK so I am new here, but I am not new to mobile devices at all. In fact I was a Mobility Admin in different forums. So please don't get mad at me for posting here. I have some questions. PLEASE don't play the FLAME the noob game. I swear that I searched far and Wide for my answers but have failed to find them.
So my question: is there anyway to tweak the T-Mobile T-zones Internet?
I can:
Connect to the internet
Download Files
Stream Music (orb)
Stream Video (badly[orb])
Use Google Maps
I can't:
Connect To IM servers, I have tried all of the programs. OZ for T-Mo is the only one that works, but it's horrible.
No YouTube, I can live without this but I hope to get it working.
MIDP can't connect.
Basicly nothing, that doesn't connect from, IE works.
----------------------------------------------------
I have played with the Proxy settings and nothing. I know that with my Treo 650 I could connect through VeriChat, but I can't connect on WM6.
Is there a program out there that can help me fix this?
Again I'm sorry if this is a repost, or an overkill of something, but I want to get this stuff working.
Thanks

I do not have an obvious solution but have also seen plenty of similar comments here from others - not just with T-Mobile either. I am using T-Mobile in the UK and have none of your problems.
I obviously had the original T-Mobile Vario II build (WM5) but now have the Black MAJIK build with WM6 and all has been fine with both. Some people directly accuse T-Mobile of blocking their IM, but I have no issue with it - albeit I use it rarely. Of course it "may" be that T-mobile are indeed blocking some services to 'offenders' (IM is not allowed) but I wonder if their system is that capable.
Obvious questions for you are: what OS are you using? Have you changed ANY comms settings from the original T-Mobile build? Have you tried a hard reset to restore original settings (including the all important T-Mobile extended ROM)?
If you still have the original OS ROM build running then you might try installing the configuration .cab files that are stored on the Extended ROM separately - some apply directly to such device settings. Access to that Extended ROM on the WM5 build is easy and you just need an application such as "HTweakC 2.0" (available here). Of course, and as ever, start with backing-up your device - but you will know that.
I hope this helps.
I have VSWL Rom.
I have setup the internet (GPRS) settins like they are suppose to be.
I believe that it is a fact that T-Mo has blocked ports, and has only left http smtp and pop3 open. So my dilema is why did verichat connect on my Treo 650 and not on my MDA or my 8525.
First we need to know if you are in tmobile usa, uk...????
if you are in tmo usa then you can't
if you have the proxies 216.155.165.50:8080 the most you can use is PIE (pocket internet explorer)
the best thing is to get the blackberry $20 dollar add-on plan and just setup without proxys. wap.voicestream.com and you have full internet access.
I am in the USA, and I have the T-zona 5.99 plan.
I am less than reluctant to close my mind for this not to work, since google maps works. and, as I said, on my Treo 650 using verichat worked perfectly.
I don't know what the difference in the way the Treo 650 connected and the way my 8525 connects.
Perhaps the programs that can connect are ones that ones that connect through port 80 and are proxied to 8080.
I am so lost on this topic though.
too many contractidicting points.
such as streamining works on win but not on palm
IM worked on Palm but on Win.

Windows OS Apps..new user

I decided to buy this phone primarily because of the windows OS. As I waiting on delivery I wanted to ask a few questions.
Does the wing have a full html client?
I assume you can switch browsers to something better like firefox assuming there is something for the mobile os.
What about apps like google talk or google maps? Do those work on this phone? I really hope they do. I want to be able to sit my butt on the couch and google talk/chat and surf the net useing wifi. Can I assume that can be done? Finally..regarding google talk or something else like skype, can I use the microphone on the cell phone to communicate with these voip programs and bypass t-mobile's hotspot or data service packages? I assume that because it uses wifi, I should be able to use any wifi app that would work on a normal computer. I believe I can treat this phone like a mini-computer since it has wifi and windows mobile. Is that a safe assumption?
In regards to the memory issues...is a 4 gig sd card enough or should I be looking for bigger?
Regarding the html browser :
Keep in mind because of screen size, there are some limitations of course. But you do have some alternatives.
Opera, Minimo to name a few. The favorite seems to be opera.
Google maps works fine, you can find the download here
http://www.google.com/gmm/index.html
There is no actual google client for googletalk for WM6, but I use www.palringo.com which connects to all the instant messengers.
Skype for mobile is here
http://www.skype.com/download/skype/mobile/
There are various VoIP programs out there, that you can find on these forums... just search "VoIP"
Yes, you will be able to use your phone via WIFI for anything you want to do.

about msn can't online through gprs

hi,everyone .this bother me for a long time I ask many times to get some help but no one can tell me how to resolve this.
I am in USA and use as T-MOBILE I have T-ZONE service I can use my phone online watch news you tube etc.but just msn can't online.anyone know how to fix that problem? please help on this one.thank you
no one know??! anyone live in usa have same problem??
dont know about USA. But for Vodafone NL you need to add a proxy server to your connection settings in order to get MSN to work. Maybe something like that is also needed for your provider
Some phone operators have blocked a lot of ports in order to limit capabilities of the lines. Perhaps only http port is open so MSN can't connect as it uses a specific port range to access its servers.
In France, SFR operator is acting like this, so I can't use MSN Messenger, except if I use its own specific software, which is not very attractive.
In my case MSN, Skype, don't work with proxy.
When I deleted proxy server everything works ok.

X1 language pack

Hi guys,
I'm a beginner in WM scene. I got my SE X1 from the UK O2 shop. I just installed the YaHei 15M Chinese font cab pack, everything looks fine and I can see Chinese perfectly, except that I cannot login to the Windows Live anymore. So when I tried to login the my hotmail or MSN it said sth like unable to establish connection to the service. Of course, I'm 100% sure that I got the Internet connection through the WiFi at the moment and I could browse any website. It sound like something in the language pack conflicts with the Windows Live. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for you help fards. That has 80% got me out of the confusion. But I just wanna double check one thing now. Before install the language pack, I was able to connect the windows live service through the WiFi at home, but it seems lost the ability after the language pack installed.
Thanks so much

Works fine on my X1 (UK unbranded rom) with WiFi.
Sorry I dont know the answer to your problem however I believe its only the Vodaphone branded X1's that have this problem with windows live - They have coded the ROM in such a way that Windows Live always goes out via the cellular network. Unbranded phones are ok and other networks such as O2 have not put this restriction in their ROMs.
mine is from o2 too...i installed google chinese font and works very fine without any probelms!
where can i install chinese language so that i can read and write.
thank you

Vodafone live! InternetFlat

I am currently an exchange student in Germany and I need some help with figuring out a problem with the internet on my cell phone.
I currently have a prepaid card (Call-ya) from Vodafone and I added on the Live! InternetFlat package about a week ago. On my HTC HD2 I have troubles connecting/using certain programs.
What works:
Internet Explorer (can access any website)
Google Maps
YouTube
Marketplace
Facebook
Downloaded apps from the marketplace
What doesn't work is the standard browser, Opera. From it I can only access sites like google and vodafone, I can't even follow a link from google. There is a vodafone "toolbar" that is on the webpages at the top and bottom. This is strange because it doesn't show on IE and I can goto any site when I use it. I can also not recieve/send emails from the HTC mail application through my gmail or yahoo accounts. I also cannot use Skype. Finally, the integrated Youtube and Facebook (data services...so you can see a contact's status etc.) don't work...but the standalone applications work.
I am mostly confused about the Opera part... however I think that Vodafone prevents me from doing email and using Skype because I don't have the two year contract with internet. Can anyone explain this to me and say what limitations there are to this internetflat?
