I realize this is probably going to be a simple fix. But after upgrading my ROM to the iphone 3.6 version (im running on a G3) some of the programs will not run. I get the not digitally signed message. I have tried to use regedit to make the change in some of the posts but even it wont run (same error). Just want to get rid of this security feature and be able to run what i want...... Any help is appreciated?
I get the same messages for all not standard programs (such as battery monitor and others) so that I would also appreciate if anybody could help us with this problem.
Regards,
Pavana
BTW, does anybody have a working link to the newest iPhone ROM from I3v5y?

While using the out of the box TMO rom (1.08) on my MDA, I was able to keep AS 4.1 from running in the background by using the fake exchange server method. Since upgrading to a custom 2.26 rom this method no longer works. Is there a "new" way to do this with these cooked roms in place, or is this something that's just gonna be running in the background? I don't want to get rid of ActiveSync, I just want to stop it from running on it's own. Any help will be appreciated, thanks
Folks, just found a thread that said something along the lines that ActiveSync is used for direct push email. Is this the case? if so then AS 4.1 needs to be running in the background and since I intend to eventually use push....
is there any way to uninstall the network wizard that comes preinstalled with the dopod rom? i have the notification disabled but i would prefer if the app wasn't there at all.
If that is possible, I will be happy to get rid of old verion of Opera and Papago10 from Powermap 1.1.2 ROM ....
eazyvg: opera&papago are in rom - that means there is no way to uninstal only to flash another ROM, or utilz for cooking roms(imgfs_tools...) and remove it from there
just waiting for dutty to get his easy nbh tool working for the artemis then i can remove the network wizard cab from the ext. rom and reflash the rom - cool - come on dutty urry up mate!
So, u wanna say that it is possible to use some utility and cook/modify the Powermap 1.1.2 ROM, by simply removinf the files associated with the apps that I don't need .... is it that simple! Let me know where I can grab the util and if not difficult for (or someone else) to write a small tutorial/tips for this.
Tnx.

err...yes you can do this, but it is not that simple, a 'small' tutorial would be fairly useless. Your best bet is to do like myself and others who use this forum do - research and test and research and test and research and test!
Willyfxp, did you get any further with the removal of Network Wizard from the Dopod rom? I would love to get that nagging notification gone 4 ever
At every reboot I get the "your current operator (20416) is not supported. You should obtain an update from your device vendor"....
Thanks for letting me know
Good morning Everyone,
I was looking into information on updating my Cell phone ROM as after some reading and searching I found out that this phone is GPS capable (Why they would sell it with the functionality disabled is beyond me.) On the Official HTC website I did find a new update that was released 08/06/2008 at the following link. CLICKY! . I am wounder if anyone else is having a problem downloading this file and installing it? I receive an error saying the file is corrupt and I should download the file again. I have tried downloading the file from two separate computers, tried all three mirror sites (US, Europe, Asia) and last but not least tried using three different web browsers. Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari for Windows.
I am curious if anyone knows of another mirror site for this newly released update that is working? Or of another way I can update to the same version. I am unfamiliar with the ROMs that are on this website (I could figure it out but am uneasy about installing something unofficial.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS: I also noticed that the file name "-HTC P4000 (Telus)-Telus_HTC_P4000_WM6_07252007.exe" Has an old date on it? I am hoping they just rebuilt a previous update, or they have not actually posted the new update and still have an old one which happens to not work. Just an observation I noticed.
PSS: I have sent in a technical help request through the online process of HTC asking for a link to a working .exe but I tend to find that out of the norm requests such as this do not turn out very well with corporations whose support team are really only knowledgeable in standard help desk things IE: I'm too stupid to turn on my phone can you help me?
Did you follow the instructions here?
http://www.telusmobility.com/on/business_solutions/htc_p4000_upgrade_xp.shtml
I did a while back and it worked. If not, just switch to DCD's, it's awesome. Telus's 6.1 ROM doesn't enable your GPS.
Ya that is currently the ROM I am running, Maybe I am just mixed up. I looked at the HTC website for the TELUS rom and noticed the date for release was 08/06/2008 so I was under the assumption they had released an updated ROM that was a newer version then 2.13.661.2 which I am already running. One that would also patch the GPS (just a guess). However, I guess I will look into the DCD roms and see if I can fumble through the guides to get it loaded. Thanks anyways.
telus p4000 rom
I have a P4000 running on DCD 3.2.2 and Radio 3.42.2 gps enabled internet sharing enabled and many other stuff... this is just roocking the place.. Just forgot the official Rom and go for dcd you just have to follow all instructions be aware and youll anjoye all youre gona do with your phone
HTC P4000 rocks again!
Being half way through custom install (with all nightmares and mistakes ) I found this official update too. Confirm too: everything works as expected.
Took a while for GPS to pick up in Richmond Hill, Ontario, but the it worked like a charm!

2nd that. Upgraded from the old v2 and now to this one GPS and everything worked great with Google Maps.. I didn't bother stopping that customization thing like I've read in other post. Loaded that HTC home Plugin v2.1 on it and its fine.
First of all I would like thank Skywing for writing this GPS Application
Gateway for the xv6800 phone with stock rom or upgraded MR1 rom..
This thread is to show my thanks and to help new ppl like myself
find this app easer.. It took me about haft a day searching two forums
just to find what I was looking for .. so I hope this will help other
new ppl find what they are looking for much easer ..
Again this application was written by “Skywing” and someone wrote
the easy install CAB for his app .. also like thank “gc14“ for writing
the tutorial ..
This Application aGPS aka GPS Server aka (Valhalla Legends GPSServer.cab)
Will allow your 100% stock rom or MR1 rom on your xv6800 Phone
to access GPS signal via 3rd party application e.g. MS Live search, Google maps etc..
without the need to unlock the phone or do anything to the phone other than
simply loading the GPSServer.cab file ..
For step-by-step install info. go to: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=VerizonAGPSFix
To download the CAB go to: http://rapidshare.com/files/165096506/Valhalla_Legends_GPSServer.cab
Show your thanks to Skywing, go to his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424387
I have personal testing this code on my xv6800 with stock ROM, then I
upgraded to the MR1 ROM from HTC for the xv6800 with WM 6.1 and
install the GPSServer.cab and it works perfect for both ROMs without
doing any unlocking or running anything else other then just the GPSServer.cab
BTW for anyone with the stock ROM running WM 6.0 and would like to
upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 .. you can download the MR1 ROM direly
from HTC
Again this is the, Verizon XV6800 ROM MR1
Release Date: 2008-08-23
go to: http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=82&cat=2&dl_id=99
If this link does not work you may need to set your “country” first, (top right of the page “select country” set to “United States”
wow .. update: also found out that gc14 made the CAB file as well..
Thanks again gc14
gc14 post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2625473&postcount=113
Thanks! It works very good with Google Maps
Is your WIFI works with WM6.1? After I installed MR1, my WIFI is not working anymore. I hope you might be able to help me.
TIA
to all that created this thank you, works flawless on the stock mr2 rom
can't get it to work..
Hi all! I followed this method a while back and had Google maps working great for quite some time! This past weekend I tried to use it with GPS and it couldn't find any satellites. I figured it was maybe too much cloud cover or other interference related to my location. Anyhow, yesterday I updated my XV6800 to MR2, installed the latest Google maps (3.0.0.12) and still cannot get it to find any satellites. after playing with the COM ports and location setting (currently COM4 and Loc ON) without success I installed GPS Toggle, which also cannot find any satellites.
Anyone have any suggestions to get this working again? Does this even work with MR2? I'd be happy to go back to MR1, though MR2 seems to be a little smoother and faster.
Thanks!

Read the last couple of pages

thanks drewcam888. I'll check it out this afternoon and let you know how I make out.
BTW, I was looking around my device and I found a different version of gpsapi.dll (hidden) in the Windows directory. I'm thinking this may be the problem. It won't let me modify it though, as it's a system file. I can view it using SKTools, but not modify it.
Can you recommend a file manager program that'll let me move / copy / replace system files?
Thanks!
You can't modify a rom file or one that is created by the rom itself. Or at least I don't know how
Hello,
I'm pretty new here and new to the XV6800. I have a rom version that I downloaded from htc site that under device info reads 3.57.605.1 I don't know what MR1 or MR2 is or is mine an MR3?? Also I have a Radio version of 3.37.75?? My question is can I install this to get GPS or AGPS working on my device? Do I have to install a different radio to get it working?
Thanks,
Chris

Read the thread for a while that drewcam8888 lists above "adapter program to ......" and then make sure you change the registry settings as it describes for Valhalla in the posts from the past couple of days. I believe I posted #627 which has the places to edit for Valhalla. Listen to what others say to make sure you have everything right.
mine failed around the same time but using a different set of cab files which had worked flawlessly on both previous installs of MR1 . Is this perhaps something from verizon?....Anyway having not installed from a wrar file before how do you install the valhalla cab when the redirects disconnect from the server?
I have a xv6800 and i got it last week, the person that i got it from updated the rom. a couple days ago i cleared the storage, which i guess is a hard reset, but i wanted to know if that resets my Rom
thanks
Tyve

I love Spotify on my PC so was excited to see it being released for WinMo as I have a HTC HD2. I even upgraded to the Premium service to just to check it out.
BUT.......After trying the market place and also downloading the CAB file, both these method result in "installation was not successful".
Anyone else have problems or can help?
Hi, I downloaded the cab and it installed fine for me, infact this is an amazing app, even picks up on my music networked folders and integrates them too. Not sure why you have an issue though. I have stock o2 rom btw. 1.72 I think.
Just had a thought, make sure your Netframework is upto date 3.5 I thnk is the one I`m on.
I'm using Vodafone's most recent ROM 1.72.
How do check / update the Framework 3.5?
Try this method and also try searching these forums; lots of other people have been trying to get this too.
http://pocketnow.com/how-to/tutorial-how-to-upgrade-to-microsoft-net-compact-framework-35
I did a hard reset (always hate doing that) and its seems to have sorted out the problem.
Will try and add .net 3.5 as well though.
Thanks
