Titan as internet provider through activesync? - Mogul, XV6800 General

I can't recall the name of that software that I read about some time ago that allowed to use the titan as a modem to reach the internet with a computer through activesync, without using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS).
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

What I use is PDANet. It's not free, but for me it is well worth the money. I use it for all of my connectivity when I am out of range of other means for my laptop. It does require that Activesync be active.

PDANet is fine. Try WMWiFiRouter.
if looking for a free solution...... then download a custom rom found here in titan upgrading.............and use Internet Connection Sharing ICS

PDAnet is the one I was looking for. I want to use it with an old PDA that doesn't have ICS.
Thanks!

PDANET Tethering - Network Shares

I recently purchased the program PDANET from June Fabrics Technology. Using this program, i can tether my laptop to my phone. The problem I run into is when I am tethered, I am unable to access any network shares in my domain. For example, \\Server\ShareDirectory.
I am using Windows Vista Pro and have searched the net and have not found anything than can help me resolve this problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
I guess my first question is: why are you using PDANET with a WM6 device? I just use internet connection sharing and it works great...
but maybe there is some restriction on yours that I don't have?

I tried the Internet connection sharing that is on the new DCD ROM and couldn't get it to work. It connected and appeared to be fine but I couldn't access any web pages. Also, when I use ICS, it disconnects my active sync. With PDANET, I can have both.
Unable to connect to any WAN
To update the issue, I am unable to connect to anything on the WAN. Anything on my local server connects fine.

Yeah it's fairly simple. Make sure Activesync 4.5 is installed on your laptop (don't know if you need it if you use Vista)
Connect your laptop to the device with USB cable.
On your device start Internet Sharing (if it doesn't have it then you will need to install a ROM that does... pretty much all cooked ROMS do)
Then click connect... give it a few seconds and you should be able to connect to internet via your phone's internet connection
You can also do this via bluetooth. First go to Internet Sharing and instead of USB select 'Bluetooth PAN' in the drop down box
Click connect...
Then only your Laptop in Control Panel> Networks tell it to connect to Bluetooth Pan and you should be done.
You can even do this via Wifi but you need to get commerical software called WMWifiRouter
Cheers. I found that the bluetooth I was using was a little complicated. Ended up using an older stick and it works great. Thanks.

Yet another WModem driver question

I have been searching the forum and the wiki for over an hour and am finding tons of old 2003/2004 threads, and some mid 2008 threads with no responses, about using WModem to provide internet connection.
I want to use my HTC Kaiser over 3G as an internet connection. How do I achieve this? I am using WModem but I have no drivers for it on my computer, and dont want to dial through AT&T's service. The USB_MODEM.zip file links were all old and no longer around.
Any help would be appreciated.
If you just want Internet access the use then Internet Sharing application in Windows Mobile (assuming its in your ROM, if not I think the .cab for it is available?). Assuming your PC is XP and its connected via USB with ActiveSync then it's all pretty automatic.
You need to ensure you have Internet access from the PDA (i.e. you can browse the internet over 3G, GPRS etc), you then start Internet Sharing, select PC Connection USB, and set the 'Network Connection' to your Internet connection (3G, GPRS) and then click 'Connect'. ActiveSync will stop and your PC will discover a new Network Interface (Windows Mobile Internet Sharing Device I thin kit appears as) and thats it. The WM device acts as a DHCP Server & DNS proxy. I use this quite often and it's pretty good - I have a Kaiser and get a good HSDPA connection at home, the connection can vary with travelling though.
If you want to use the PDA as a Modem then you need the Modem Link application (this is where you need to install the Modem Drivers on the PC). I have used this as well but with less sucess.

Do you know where the cab for Internet Sharing is? I am failing at using WModem right now.

Sharing Internet between 2 PPCs over Bluetooth

Hi, Folks,
I was trying to connect a HTC TyTn II (Kaiser) to Internet over a bluetooth connection with a HTC Diamond, but no success...
First i tryed to connect using a DUN (Dial-up Network), but I don't know why, this dosn't work.
Second, i tryed to connect using the Internet Connection Share (ICS) on Diamond, but i don't found a way to join in a Bluetooh PAN with my Kaiser.
I've made a lot of searchs in this forum and the Google, but nothing that i found solves my problem.
In one of links/articles/wikis it tell me to use a Bluetooth Manager, but i don't have it.
Anyone has any idea to solve this problem?
Thx a lot! (and sorry about my english)
Try WmWifirouter. It essentially creates a P2P network over wifi. Was there a specific reason to use bluetooth?Im sure both devices have Wifi.

WMWiFiRouter does the job.

or icscontrol and set the private interface to BTPAN on the serving ppc
Don't forget to setup the connection as ad-hoc.
You won't be able to share the net in managed mode.
It is possible to share internet over bluetooth.

@ alpha2k
nice link. do you know if you can connect a PDA/Mobile through your PC's Broadband Connection? See my mini diagram below?
Mobile --- (through bluetooth)---> PC --(through WIFI/Cat5e) ---> Router ----> INTERNET

Internet through USB cable

Hey.
I searched the forum for an answer, but couldn't find it.
Is it possible to connect the HD2 to internet using the USB cable?
So the PC network would share it's internet connection to the mobile?
Thank you.
A.S.
i use program called wifi router shares internet by making phone a wifi spot.v good software n its free
i havw found that on the us tmobile hd2 the internet sharing that comes with the phone has been blocked after the recent ROM update. wmwifirouter software works but its a pricey app to purchase but well worth it.
