Yea really I haven't been researching it since i got it. Been to bz playing with it
and remember I heard something somewhere about face time is all, didnt remember for what product and thought it was the xoom. So excuse my ignorance for not been that informed. but thanks for the reply

Face time is advertised all over that it is for Apple, that is why I was surprised that someone would think it was for Android.

Yep. Works great on my Evo and xoom
FaceTime is a joke.
Just use Tango (etc.). Cross platform for iOS/Android on 3G and WiFi.

where did you get the .apk for Oovoo? I've used it for years and always found it better than Skype but couldn't find it for the Xoom. All my family uses Oovoo so I would love to be able to chat with them on the go with this thing.

gchat is used thousands of times more then facetime....
If you're someone that needs to change the title of the thread that you created there's a quick way to change it! Just double click right underneath the title of the thread you created and it will allow you to change the title real quick! Thought this was pretty neat. If this is a "known" trick, my bad. Just was messing around and found it and thought it was pretty cool.
It has worked on other forums I am a member of.

I've actually done this a few time on accident. I have never been able to purposefully reproduce. Thanks it does save a lot of time. Nice find.

I ment to post this twice so I could get some actual help from people who actually care... The people in "themes and apps" are more friendly than people in "Q's and A's".. No, only mods can do it. In this case don't worry about it...no biggie. As you can see though, there's always someone who will notice and make a comment if you double post (sometimes a regular, sometimes a mod), so it's just not worth it.
As for your original question, even if you find the messaging APKs from the MT4G stock ROM, they may not work on VU. There's big differences in the Sense framework between the two ROMs, so the apps may not be "plug and play". Good luck though.

It's not going to work, framework compatibility issues as stated by TJ.
Have you tried GoSMS Pro? Awesome app, and it's not bulky and laggy like Handcent. I use it all the time, very sleek and customizable. You can make it look like the stock messaging app if so desired.

The problem is, the softkeys by Honeycomb Launcher are (by the A101) in the middle of te screen (looks bad)!!

You mean we can just swap out a different camera app and make ICS camera work!?!? And all this time we have been trying to make the stock one work has been wasted?? Genius!!
No. The ROM and the ICS image are unable to get the MyTouch 4G camera to actually load. An app is basically just a theme for the main camera. It calls up the same camera and therefore no app will run.
Am I right everyone? If I'm just confusing things I'll delete this post.

Sort of. Third-party camera apps are completely separate from the ROM's built-in app, but they do use the same libraries and drivers to interact with the camera's hardware.

basically what these guys are saying is that there is no one working on a camera solution, when clearly there are. Feb isn't the ONLY one around here guys... (though he may be the best)
