Hello
Can anyone look into creating a Blackberry switch in CommManager to turn on and off the connection ?
It's very time consuming to go into settings, system, blackberry, status and toogle it.
thanks in advance.

Hi,
I never really use GPRS and therefore it would be handy to gain the extra space in the title bar my removing the 'G' icon. Does anyone know how to remove it.
Cheers
Andrew
You can download wisbar advance from lakeridesoftware.com, you MUST download the Beta version from the forum as the version from the main download section doesnt work with windows mobile.
This enabled you to not only choose what is in your status bar, but also allows you to skin your taskbar.
Looks brilliant.
You don't say what XDA you have, but try GB-SOFT's GPRS tweak control Panel at http://www.pdagold.com/software/detail.asp?s=265
The product home-page is at http://www.gb-soft.cz/XDAII/product_gprs_tweak_en.htm, but was down when I checked just now.
What normally happens, is that the XDA checks for GPRS network availability at boot time.
The utility allows you to tweak a few settings, one of which is the ability to turn off checking for GPRS until you actually *use* it, which should take that G away.
Thanks for the replies.
p.s. I've got a i-mate jam.
@all,
whenever i am using the phone my ear touches on the gprs button in the taskbar on top. this starts the connection dialogue and the mdac is about to connect via gprs.
i know i can delete all setup connections, but is there a way to get rid off the button?- like with the screen rotate button at the bottom via a registry entry?
any idea anybody?
thanx
got the same problem here... but it usually doesnt connect... annoying yes i know but i dont think its fixable.
howdy,
found toggle start by vijay555 on his homepage. does something close to solve our dilemma: makes the whole start taskbar disappear, thus also the start button. got into contact with vijay to see if he has an idea concerning only the gprs button.
wait and see
Guys, AFAIK, unfortunately, the GPRS icon is displayed by default by the OS. I don't think it can easily be removed without some deep level hacking of the OS. A relatively easy solution would be to display something else on top of it, like a useful clock or battery icon, or memory usage icon etc... is that an option?

@vijay,
thanx a mil for your prompt reaction. In case you are dying of boredom one day, would be nice to see what you can do with deep level hacking!
thanx again

now if wisbar, which i do noit want to use, can disable the gprs icon, there must be somebody who knows how wisbar does it.
please, any clues?
I've just upgraded from a Blue Angel to a Wizard with UK O2.
The phone comes with pbs GPRS monitor, as did the Blue Angel.
But the new version doesn't seem to have the Today plug-in bit which allows the brightness, battery and a few icons to be displayed on the today screen...
Am I just being daft or is this something extra I need to get hold of?
-FM
Nothing extra. Try to turn it on in Today settings (Settings - Today). If it is not listed there, try to reinstall it or obtain newer version at www.spbsoftwarehouse.com
In response to this...can you modify what the plugin shows...I do not want the battery/brightness/mail/IE/ somethingelse bits, just the data meter only?
Any help?
Cheers

You can change this here:
Settings -> Today -> Tab items -> GPRS Monitor -> Options -> Tab Additional items
Ah nice one!
Makes me look a bit dull
Hello there,
I've been searching the forum but I could not find a tip on how to activate quickly 2ADP on my Prophet. Normally I have to go into the bluetooth manager and perform a couple of handlings to connect to the BT headphone. Is there a way to assign this process to a hardware button?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I understand that "battery manager with the tray icons" is a program allowing to place shortcuts in the system tray. Where do I find it?
Battery Manager

Just look at the first thread in this category.
Thanks. It has almost 300 pages. Could you please give me a hint where exactly I can find the info I need?
Look at the bottom of the first post
I found this:

It saved me all the trouble and it does its job.
Thanks for your help.
hi guys, this is my virgin post. I have a diamond 2 and was using it for about 2months now. recently, i realised that my battery indicator dissappeared from the top task bar. It only shows the signal, sound, and time... no more battery indicator. I have been searching for an answer but no success. have tried installing the customised battery icons contributed by you guys but no success as the battery icon still does not show.
any suggestions or help on this? much appreciated.
p.s - i was using a magincian, O2 mini and recently upgraded the ROM to the one by cortulla. it's like getting a brand new phone, though the memory on the mini sucks big time. just want to express my thanks for all the contributors. i hope i can contribute something too in future.
i realised that the down-pointing arrow on the right of the taskbar is missing too. So i am unable to view the running programmes.... can someone help me please?
The battery/time indicator is some setting in windows mobile. I don't know how to change it in windows but you can easily do it with WVGA tweak / HD tweak.
And about the program manager, it's also some setting i don't know accactly were you can find it..
Try searching in the setting tab.. then system.. somewere there should be an option about taskmanager, and then something about show on home screen / show in tray
