Ok, I'm using the default HTC theme (*.tsk - attached), the only problem is that the bars arent 3d. does anyone have a version that looks the same, but with black 3d bars?
so essentially, all that is needed is for the bars to be changed to 3d
Bam!
Use the forum search or Google next time.
nope, thats not it. needs to be the original htc one (with green)
please delete. posted in another part of forum instead

Anyone know where I can find a black theme?
http://wmthemes.sandsusa.com/images/BlackBlue.JPG
Basically like that but with black instead of blue. I had one when I had my 8125 but I've been out of the WM scene for a little bit, and I lost the link. Thanks alot!

as always i don't take credit for these items. I found it on xda somewhere
search for RC Mod on the forums...you can then change the top and bottom bars to your liking...
This is one of my favorite black themes because it's actually readable in all views... looks great on WM6 too. I have this one on my black VZW Apache:

And this one on my silver Sprint Titan:

I was looking for a solution to changing the font color on the HTC Home Music Tab to something other than the pastel blue.
I couldn't find a solution on this forum so I hacked it myself. I changed the font color from blue to white so it matches other themes better. It is only a hex change on six digits.
I am sharing this file in case anyone else want it as well. I also changed the progress bar color to green since the Diamond theme is all the rage nowadays. But the progress bar color is easy to change back.
The files came from HTC home version 2.1 build 1005722. I took it from one of PDAViet's newer WM6.1 rom for Hermes.
This is my very first hack and I only tested on my 8525. It is working fine. But please report back if anything is wrong.

The theme really is just Empex's diamond theme V2 together with tnyynt's HTC background. So the artwork credit belongs to them.
I added tweaks to it wrt MS application background color and command bar color.
There is a bug with my tweaks where if you boot up the device running my theme, the "start" text and the "time" on the top bar is missing. You can resolve this by switching to a standard theme and then switching back. I haven't really looked into what is causing this bug (hasn't bother me since I don't reboot that often) but if anyone knows why this is the case then please help me out here.

If it's only a six digits change, why would I have to install a 2,3 MB CAB file?

yes, it is only a six digit hex change on the main dll.
Problem is though there are so many versions of HTC home floating around, I don't want people to just download the dll and replace what they currently have. This may lead to compatibility issue.
Hi very good work but it may not help me because of the version. Could you write some tutorial about how to change? (I mean where inside the dll should I change) I would like to change the color of the weather tab and I could open the dll file by hex editor. Thx
@ Lolento can i ask what is the name of the dll file please as i would like to try other colours
Hi, I've been reading around this forum and it has been quite helpful - now I have a question of my own. The Herald comes with the older default HTC green theme (not the WM green theme). I decided to try out the newer black one but since they appear to have the same name the Htc_Default theme became a mix of the two . What I mean is that the background and everything is like the original HTC green theme but the bars at the top and bottom (start menu, time, etc bar and Calandar, Contacts/whatever the left and right softkeys respond to) are black like in the new one. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried downloading and installing both the new and old one again with no result.
edit: i might add that I'm interested in being able to have both themes, and at the very least restore the original. it doesn't make that much of a difference, so I wouldn't hard reset or anything, but it is a minor inconvenience which, for lack of a better term, I would prefer to not exist

without screenshots I have no idea what you're actually after.
also, you already started a thread about this. this new one is clutter.
the first (screen08) and second (screen09) pic is what it looks like (flat)
the third (black_3d) pic is what i want it to look like (3d)
the catch is that there are settings in the registry... (screen08)
It very easy. Search for an executable called Glossy Black Bars. After running it, you will have the 3d bars.
By the way, it is off topic if you don't mind, how can you get the percentage of the battery showing on the top bar next to the original battery icon? Just like the third screenshot. Thanks
Run a search for ThemeGenCE and you can make your own themes... No reg edits either.....
ive tried both. neither worked
theme gen doesnt open it because it is a newer version of a theme
btw, it is a wm6.1 theme
im pretty sure the battery thing is default when enabled via registry
got it...
removed the flattile bits in the registry
Its possible to do the same thing, but with white or silver colors? I have only che originale themes, with the bar in black, red, green or blue...
As per title really, i'm happy with the functionality and layout etc etc of my device, i just want to change the colour scheme to be as below, i've spent ages trying to find where the theme is located but can't, please can someone help me with where it is and how to change it

That looks like stock photos of the unlocked GSM Rhodium running a stock windows 6.1 and Sense 2.1. So there isn't a theme really. Just a stock phone with a black background.
I can't find the black background anywhere, it certainly isnt on the device.
That background is embedded in the Manila files; it's the same as on all other tabs of Manila.
You can get it by editing the registry. Find the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila
Click to collapse
In that key change the value for "DefaultHomeBackgroundPath" to an empty string (you may ned to go to the settings tab after that, and try to change the wallpaper; it should then ask you if you want to use the default wallpaper).

Hope this helps?
I can get the wallpaper and top and bottom bars black but nothing happens to the touch flo, it stays defaulted to red and white, so by turning touch flo off (which i dont want to do) i get black wallpaper

I don't blame you! I've had a bit of a search and I can't really find anything that'll revert it back to the HTC stock theme
You may have to use a different theme - or Hard SPL and flash a new ROM if you're up for that?
well i've about had enough of the nasty red and white

Well if you do decide to flash a new ROM (it's easy) do make sure you follow this and you'll have no problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540
gonna have a go at that later on, what would i need to do after i've done all those steps? would i then need to find themes etc (idiot alert)
This looks like a mix of old and new.
The red taskbar should be able to change to a different colour by using a different theme file (.tsk) Download this file and save it to My Documents, then apply it by going to All Settings > Personal > Today
http://f.imagehost.org/download/0517/htc_black
I feel your pain, thissy. My AT&T Tilt 2 came with a blue theme that had to go. Being a n00b, I had no idea how do to any of that stuff.
After reading and searching, I was able to change almost everything without flashing a new rom. I think you need to start with getting Max's TF3D theme maker, found here. Become familiar with that thread, and all the additional components you can add into Max's program. LOTS of good stuff out there to tweak the look of your phone.

Try the things other people suggest first if you're unsure about flashing a new ROM. But, if you do decide to flash one, say Ark's ROM here:
http://htcpedia.com/Rhodium-AF-manila-2-5-VX3/soft/htc-rhodium-rom.html?page=1
You wouldn't need to add any themes because it would look like this:
Plus you'd have all the benefits of Manila 2.5.
Hope this helps.
cheers everyone for your help
no doubt i'll be back at some point for some more nooby help
