Run 'Uncertified' CABs

Hello everybody,
Is there any backdoor possibility to run "Uncertified" CAB files on JasJar WM2K5 ?

Did not help, still says "Unable to install. Uncertified system software detected."

Uncertified system software problem, still a problem
Anyone have an update on this problem? I"m trying to install the Blackberry Connect software ( Not the TMO one) on a Cingular Wizard.

Hey,
When you did a soft reset, did you do it using the hole or software?
I was told that if you use the hole the settings don't activate, you need to make the registry changes, and use software to restart the phone, like psShutXP.
Any help?

Unfortunately Not
I've did a hard reset, hit the reset hole for 3 seconds when it starts to load software so I can boot up without the ROM loading ( as I have read you need to do ). I still can't install the Blackberry software. It still says that it's uncertified software.
Any other ideas?

You don't have to hold the reset pin in for 3 seconds, you have a window of three seconds in which to tap it.
OK, once you have done the hard reset you can then try the registry edit or the .CAB file to get rid of the security check.
Once you have edited the registry and installed the .CAB you will have to do a soft reset, not a hard one.
A hard one will make the changed that you just made go away.
If you have a copy of psShutXP you can use that to reboot rather than the reset pin, or you can make the changes then wait 5 minutes before you reset.

try this, I don`t know author, but it helped

Default SIP doesn't stick

Has anyone figured out how to make the SIP (other than soft KB) to stick upon reset? The registry change remains changed but the soft KB still loades on reset. CT from Tweaks2K2 confirmed issue but has no solution.

Thank you very much for pointing me there.

check down further in the thread for an installation cab compliments of efjay. It installs sipchange in program files and also sets up the shortcut in startup to run sipchange with the SET parameter.

Blank screen of writing a new text message on 818pro.
Is there anyone can help? There will have no problem after hard reset, it seems one of the programs causes this problem. But does anyone know the reason? Is it memory insufficient?

when I press "New" button in order to write a new SMS (text message) of my 818pro. The content of the message is just a blank screen, I can do nothing with it except closing it. This also affects on MMS and Email.
Is there anything corrupted?

This reminds me of something yes. Could you please do these things and reply with answers to my questions ?
a) How much space do you have remaining on your device (how much free ram) ?
b) Go to Start -> Settings -> Installed Software or hows it called (the place where you see what software is installed) and tell me if the list is still there. Do you see your installed programms in the list or is it empty ?

is Arabizer installed on ur deivce?!when im using unofficial pdamobiz roms on my prophet,after installing arabizer,the new message window becomes exactly as u said!after disbaling the arabizer it worked again.i hope this helps.

c) yes, i can uninstall and install new software.
--> this problem exists right after I sync the data and then press soft reset button. Is this the point? because whenever I press reset button, the SMS I wrote disappear even my pda has been just done a hardreset.

I dun think "Arabizer" is installed. Is it a program? or something about "Arab"?
Anyway, I can't find it from "Remove program". Tks.

I hardreset my 818pro again, but never press the soft reset button, so far ---- OK!!! Why the reset button cause such problem on serveral version of ROM?
AKU2.3.1, AKU3.2, AKU3.3

Arabizer is a program which enables your device to show arabic fonts.when i install it on official roms,there is no problem but when i install it on pdamobiz roms then i have a blank new sms window.as i said,after disbaling the arabizer it works again.hope it helps.

There is no such program installed on my 818pro.
I am using AKU3.3 clean rom.

Probably a ROM issue then. If you recall my reply above with the few questions. I initially had in mind that you might run into the security stuff (certification messup) issue but this is not the case.

You have the answer right there. The registry is only written back periodically. After doing any changes you should not quickly follow up with a soft reset otherwise any new information will be lost. At the very least switch off and on again before doing a soft reset. This is not a ROM fault it is simply that writes to the registry are not carried out immediately.

Hello Mike,
Thanks alot for your explaination. The data cannot be written immediately, so that should not press soft reset button right after a SMS (text msg) is written. This question is answered well.
However. My main problem is why the SMS writing page became blank and never recover until a hardreset? I had this problem after sync PIM and then pressed soft reset button.

I have the same problem before...
At that time , I used AKU2.? (forget XD) and ce-star too!!!
After hard reset for about a week.....the problem will appear again= =
SO i always reset -> blank -> reset -> blank -> loop....
until I upgrade my 818pro to 2.3, ...
and I don't use ce-star again....since it always hang= =
firstly i use monster chinese...but i found that the font is very ugly.....
so at last , i don't use monster chinese anymore, I only copy mingliu font from my winXP, and edit the registry to let my 818pro can read chinese....
Also , I download the Chinese input method from monster website, but without using monster XDDD
I don't know it's the problem of AKU? or ce-star? or just i'm very lucky.......
I want to upgrade to AKU3.3 too!!! many people say that it's very fast when you compare 3.3 to 2.3.........i wanna try it~>< But now....I'm afraid the SMS blank problem will appear again= =XD

it's the problem of cestar, i used to have the same problem with cestar installed, after uninstall it the problem was gone

HTC P-3600 Extended Rom

hi to the list,
i would like to copy some programs in the Extended Rom of my new HTC P-3600 so when i format it,They will be automatically installed.
I have unhide the Extended Rom but when i try to copy a program file into the Extended Rom folder,i get an error that say like it is write protected.
Please anybody can tell me how to do?

Would you be so kind and describe how unlocking the extended ROM worked with your device ?

In another thread I read (don't recall which one) that you need to exit (not minimize) the registry editor prior to the soft reset, otherwise the changes in the registry won't stick.
Maybe this helps?

Hi folks,
AFAIK in my opinion it is not necessary to close active applications instead of minimize, simply turn off the device and wait about 20 seconds before soft reset cause wm05 needs this time to flush the modify into the registry, or in alternative soft reset via a software instead stylus+hole. This is a known caratteristict of wm05 if you do a google search you'll find many threads about taht.

Many thanks - waiting about 20 seconds before soft reset worked fine. Now the extended ROM is visible. Still read only but i am optimistic.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\EXT_FLASHDRV\FATFS]
"EnableCache"=dword:00000001
Now i can del the extROM files, and write what ever i want, but when i do a softReset every thing is erased and the extROM files re-apear.
Anyone know what to do...

I done how you said, and effectively i can copy any file i want into the extended rom but when i make a soft reset, whatever i have copied in it,
disappear.I mean i can see only the original files and nothing else.
I have also tried to copy three other files and with the Totalcommander i have marked them as read only.Made a soft reset but had the same results.
The three files were not any more visualized in the extended Rom.
Anybody had success to write into the Extended Rom without loosing the files after making a soft reset?
If yes which is the right procedure?

Have the same Problem.
i can now write in it but when i make a reset the files are not any more in the extended rom.They are deleted.Tried also to mark them as read only before mare the reset but have the same results.
Anybody have a clue?

That won't help, after soft reset nothing changed. Rom 1.9.3. NL

1) disable tfd3d
2) install the new clock cab file
3) restart
4) enable tfd3d
done!
