Today mozilla released an alpha version of the so called "fennec" Browser, the mobile version of firefox,
Although they have been releasing udates and actual releases for the Nokia n810 internet tablet, Today they released a version for......Desktop versions of windows, Mac os x and linux.
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/fennec/1.0a1/releasenotes/
Wow!, instructions on usage are on the page. Obviosuly mozilla decided this was the best way to show you what they are working on without buying one of those silly useless (but very good) Internet tablets...
Some screens....

cool, thanks for posting.
anyword on the windows mobile install?
there is a developer's blog with screen from it running on wm6. i wish he would make it available
Looks sweet. Can't wait to try it.
TELL me about it, i can't wait for it, trying it out on the pc. It seems awesome. Youtube doesn't work, but im not sure if an installation of flash works with it. (who needs it anyway huh? Youtube program from HTC works fine!) Plug-ins are also a feature with fennec, which will be awesome for people on here to get some good useful plugins made for us all!
Available for download here
Obviously, users with proper computers need the fennec-1.0a1.en-US.win32.zip version!

Hi all... Here's a free program which is a Today replacement, it's still in early beta, but it seems promising. I don't know if it has been posted in this forum, so i'm sorry about it if so.
I've tested it on my Trinity, it runs quite fast. it's still too early to be used regularly, but it's a nice concept.

It's very coool where do you find it????
Is it a total replacement or does it run on top of the normal ui so you can toggle between the normal today screen and this app?
Nice idea, doesnt work very well, heavy on processor & lots of features not supported yet, like sound mute on/off & wifi

I already said it's early beta, many things still don't work, but it's still a nice concept

(he only starts showing it after second 34)
It has been asked here and there over this forum, but this is the main area, so its better to ask here...
Any way we can get the rom to extract a cab or something? I dont think its hardware dependent, so it should work on our machines...
Anybody...?
PS: I think the iphone came and slap M$ and all the ppc makers right on the face with its 200mhz machines since 2003 and 64/128 low ram micro upgrades...
Now these great plugins start showing up here and there and machines suddently have 4 gb of rom, finally some long-awaited REAL upgrades!
I wonder if the rotation animations can be ported i mean even though you may not have a accelerometer it my still hide the usual lag.
Actually I was refering only to the gadgets...
The diamond album was easily re-used by other htc's, but you couldnt turn the images because you had no accelarometer, it worked fine without anyway...

I did it just for fun...I dont think it will ever be usable, as its too slow.
Anyway, here it is...

You can test it online here: http://megaswf.com/view/4fb8637b26b3e854de91c76220908736.html
The links are hardcoded and only allowed the first 6 icons to work (the others are duplicates only).
It works very well on the PC, sadly the cpu and video driver of the current devices (hint -> HTC ) arent nearly as good.
I got most of the code from here: http://www.gamemeal.com/bimg/20070303.html
...and just resized, optimized for QVGA and added the "click on the icons" routine.
I'm posting the source-code because I see that I wont be able to do much more, and anyone else may want to play around with it.
I exported it on Flash lite 3.1 to speed it up a little bit, but not enough I'm afraid.
The cab needs to be installed from the PPC (for some reason I cant seem to be able to use it on winCEsetup or WinCEcabManager).
Enjoy.
Looks great and runs smoother than the Microsoft honeycomb start menu.
btw, not sure if it need flash lite 3.1 pre-installed:

I would prefer M$ HoneyComb
I prefer QUICKMENU , it was just a way to bring the wm6.5 star menu to those that dont have it...
BubbleComb
Variation of HoneyComb...
This is my BubbleComb.

Google's Android Market now has a web client. Finally! And guess what else, it's already live. Hit the source link below to get exploring. It's very simple, really, you can browse the entire Market catalog on your desktop or however else you're accessing the web, you can purchase anything that takes your fancy, and then -- via the magic of over-the-air transfers -- it downloads and installs onto your Android handset. A neat My Market Account section will let you nickname your registered devices to make them more recognizable as well.
Google has also just announced that Android will soon support in-app purchases. Widespread developer interest has been cited as the major reason for doing it, so you've got those lovable coders to thank for the oncoming wave of micropayments you'll have to deal with in your Android apps. The in-app purchasing SDK is releasing to devs today and will be "live to users prior to the end of this quarter."
Update: Invalid request. Yep, that's the message we keep getting when we try and download an app. Google promises that it should be working soon...
Update 2: And now it appears to be working!

Hey guys. According to the updates from dolphin blog, Facebook and Twitter. Dolphin Browser HD v5.0 has come out these days. I have downloaded the apk into my phone. It is amazing. Dolphin Browser HD v5.0 is a complete new version compared to the previous one. I love it. That’s exactly what I want.
Last time, they drive us the join the private beta activity, remember? I didn’t involve in. To be honest, I don’t believe this kind of thing. But it turns out to be a really great browser. The new dolphin has complete new UI, which I like very much. The home page has also been changed –how to say—more concise and leaner. What impresses me is the performance. It is faster and more stable. Another feature is that I can create new folder in the side bar.
The browser is awesome in my phone. Works great
Moreover it’s free. LOL Get it now, friends!
here is the QRcode in their blog

hi man ,I have installed the dolphin beta. you are absolutely right. V5 is better. BUT how can I create my new folder in the side bar, have you tried that?
THANKS
yeah, i did it according to their blog .
it's easy
LOL i love it
I installed this yesterday and wow, simply all the features from other browsers are packed into this pretty much perfect browser. And it's really fast too.
I'm sticking with this for a while now
