I overwrote it with a different 0k version... Forgot to backup.

I think just download this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333513 - extract with some cab making/extracting tool and copy biotouch.exe to your device.
I'm not sure it'll work, do it at your own risk!

its in the zip folder.

where do i copy this then to use it

look at number 2, it tell you to copy it to the windows folder.

Contact list backup.

I have no idea how to get Active Sync to backup my contact list. Im trying to find a program where I can just copy and paste them to my computer and then back once im done updating to the newest cingular rom.
Active Sync gives me an error about outlook having a diffrent user name or something and for the love of god i cant figure it out. Anyone can help out? I just want to backup my phone numbers, nothing else.
here's the solution
on your root of device; you'll find pim.vol file; copy it on ur sd card (i tried to copy it on my computer but it didnt let me) so copy it on sd card ; reflash your fone; and copy it back to original location (overwrite new pim.vol when u flash it)
easy>>huh?

Root of device: is the root directory of your device; with built in file explorer or via active sync explorer, you'll see your highest level of directory structure (few directories you'll see are APplication data, Conn Mgr, documents & settings, windows etc; along these directories; you'll see few files like pim.vol and few other files with *.vol extension
I dont know what else to define for root directory structure; may b you pick some windows for dummies book and get idea from it

Reflash means update rom - thats what the first poster was about to do. So if you ever update your rom or hard reset your device (i.e. return your device to factory condition) you have a backup of your pim.
Also you need to rename the new pim.vol to pim.vo before you can restore the backed up version as it wont overwrite that file using total commander file explorer etc...

The attached zip file has 2 exe files in it. Just unzip it and copy both files to your device. It's pretty obvious from the name what each of the files does, but you need to restart your device for the changes to take effect. (Please note - this will only turn off the default windows lockscreen. If you've got a different one installed this will not affect it.)
Basically, run lockscreen_disable and restart your device. You can run lockscreen_enable at a later date if you ever need to turn the lockscreen back on.
Hope it helps mate

You can either unzip the 2 files (both exe files) and copy them to your phone, or copy the zip file to the phone and unzip it there. Either way doesn't matter.
Once unzipped, you click the exe file of your choice and it runs, but you won't see anything change till you restart your phone.
I really threw them together quickly, which is why they're so basic, but they should do the trick though
Thanks John. I've been looking for ways to disable my Exchange email policy lockscreen.
Nothing I've seen and tried works so far.
Will your exe files work to disable/enable this Lockscreen?
Cheers

You'll probably do more CABS, so I suggest creating a CAB folder on the root of your SD card... Easier to keep track, then.

It's a winner, I keep a copy of my cabs on my laptop and another on my SD card for easy of use when flashing from ROM to ROM.

Can you not add it in the options, by shaking the phone while in the office app?
this doesn't appear to work. I have the HTC HD2. I open the office app and when I shake it nothing happens. Should it?

Good one,if possible i can remove things i do not want like launcher pro (so i can upgrade myself to plus, not possible now in a rom i use)
yup.. its possible... i changed my launcher pro to the plus version... u will need a program which can modify it.. i used 7zip file manager...
u can get it at ( http://www.7-zip.org/ )
cheers..

Ah that works......
And afterwards?
Can i just remove the apps in the apps folder?
And place my apps in?
Or do i also need to edit a install config file?
And how to zip it back like the original?
Thx
i tested removing apps and everything is cool need to test adding apps
7zip ask u if u wanna rebulid it and ure Done
Aha,zipping back to tar.gz can be done with this one:
http://www.gzip.org/ free .
Going to test now, removed all thing i do not want, and put in my own programs....let's see if it works, report asap.
This will work... you just need to be careful what you remove since you may end up with an unbootable android OS (boot loop) ... of course that's the beauty of the dual boot... you just copy a fresh android folder over and start again

do i need to rename it to tar.gz?
7 zip makes a .7z from it
I think i got it.
Just zipped with 7zip,placed that file on gz converter.
Removed only apps i do not need, and add my own, test now.
no just open htcleo_update.tar.gz
u will see htcleo_update.tar open it too
remove the apks close 7zip
its will ask u do u want to update the archive
wait till its finished u will see temp file
ok that works, altough i can not add apk files
adding apk not working ?
its gives error at first boot ?

No,misunderstand.....removing with the method from you works,it is booting now and installing.
What i meant to say is add my own apk files in that way,but 7zip says when i want to add my own apps: nor supported. (srry english not so good)
Ok,does not work...
I only removed launcher pro, notting else....
Android boots, but when almost on home screen setup crashes.....
i removed same wallpapers and email gmail and some more didnt got error
try another htcleo_update.tar.gz with normal launcher too
im testing now with adobe flash and same more removed
the flash didn't installed successfully
browser still need the plugin

Removing other apps works with 7zip like flashlight, voicerecording etc.
But when i try to add files with 7zip it says not supported.

Xperia X10 not recognizing APKs as APKs ?

I was in another thread trying to figure out how to install xRecovery and I'm starting to think that the problem is that my phone isn't recognizing the apks as apks. Has anyone else had this problem? It only recognizes the xRecovery file as a .zip and so I can't use the installer to install it.
Why you don't just use flashtool to root and install xRecovery? That's much easier.
bro why dont you try renaming the .zip to .apk it works!try it!

I tried that already thanks, tho...
I was hoping to not have to mess around with something else but I guess I will give flashtool a shot
you can always use Manual method,
just extract and copy these three files (busybox, chargemon, xrecovery.tar) from xrecovery.zip or xrecovery.apk to your Phone/system/bin directory, using root explorer (with r,w, rights)

You had to change to name of the .zip to .apk with a file manager on your phone. Maybe you had a setting turned on on your pc that prevents from displaying file extension.

i tried that and that didn't work. now i'm starting to think something is up with how my computer handles these .zip files though...now i'm trying to download install the .ftf file from this thread and when i put that file directly into the firmware folder in flashtool it doesn't recognize it as a .ftf file (and its listed as a .zip file when i download it)...this is frustrating the bajeezus out of me

ya know what, i'm not even sure right now since i've done so much ish to this dang phone in the past day lol i did figure out that i had to change the settings in windows to not hide the extensions of known file types so that i could change the .zip to .apk. Since I had already installed xRecovery I don't know if that would have solved the problem but I'm assuming it would have. Thanks for your help everyone!
