how do i change the name of the application ?

hi, is there a way to change the name of a given application..i have assigned photo contacts pro to one of right soft button but i am using wisbar with windows vista skin and the all of the name dosnt suit to the button..so i'd like to make it shorte like : contact , how do i do it any ideas ???

I suppose that renaming the shortcut in \windows\Start Menu\Programs should be enough

yeah that worked but i got other problem with softkeys..i am suing WM5NewMenu and after i have installed it i cant find its localization so i cannot assaign it to softkey..any ideas ? and when i assaigne it to a softkey via this app options then every time i wanna change something by going to /settings/personal/softkey everything disappears...and i am unable to choose it from the drop-list any idea of how to add this appl to the list ?

[Help]Removing Intellisync icon in tray

Hello,
I'm trying to remove the Nokia Intellisync icon in the systray on my Touch.
Tried to find a registry key, but when rebooting, it comes back.
No soft which is supposing to remove this tray has succeeded to remove this f**** icon...
Does anybody know how I could get rid of it?

What's the Registry key? Write a quick script to get rid of it, and place it in your startup directory. I can do that for you if you'd like...

I'm not sure it would solve the problem, because if I change the state of the registry key, I have to soft reset the Touch to apply changes and during the boot process maybe the regsitry is changed.
For example, I installed PMC Today Shrink which is supposed to get rid of this tray and as you can see on the screenshot, I have both tray (with intellisync icon) and today tray (with Action and Contact).

Have tried an application called "startup manager" I've seen it here, but I can't seem to find it.
You should give it a go.

Hi, I wanna configure an icon to launch the phone/dialpad. Does anyone know what .exe file that is?

check Start -> Programs there is a link called Phone - this wil open the phone pad. No need to create a new one.

actually, im using freestyl, and i changed the phone button, but now i dont know how to configure the icon so that it goes to the dialpad.

The name of the phone exe is cprog.exe, you cn find it in your \windows directory

missing icons from start and programmes

dear friends i am using an atom and wm5.i have been installing and uninstalling 100s of programmes.
*1.the dialer gives me a white screen.reinstalling the orignal dialer from this forum did not help.i am now using phone booster with eten skin patch. if i uninstall these i again get a white screen for dialer.
*2. internet explorer,calculator,notes,messaging icons have vanished from start menu and from programme list.i have to install quick menu and go to favourites every time i have to use the internet explorer.
i have searched all the forums and gone through the wiki please help.

I'm not completely sure if this will work with WM5 but if you go into your file explorer with your PDA and then navigate to Windows\StartMenu , you'll find each of the shortcuts displayed in the start menu.

Have you tried going into Settings>Remove Programs(or whatever its called for WM5) and removing anything you've installed associated with the dialer and then trying again?

2. I suggest if nothing works for you then try install Schapps Advance Configuration and enable phone skin. Remove all custom dialers before trying this tweak.
1. Go to Settings>Personal>Menus. Check where the those items are unticked. (This is as per as WM6.)

thanks for your effort guys but these items do not exist any more in SETTINGS--PERSONAL--MENUS
I have picked up a bookmark from the favourites menu and pasted it in the start menu with this i am now able to open internet explorer.
for messaging i have enabled it on the today screen with SETTINGS--PERSONAL--TODAY--ITEMS AND CHECKED MESSAGING
but there are no icons for calculator and notes

Ok..normally Menus is a Windows inbuilt program.
Anyways use a file manager like Total Commander and go to /Windows.
There you would find calculator.exe and notes.exe. Create shortcuts and post it wherever u want.

Strange looking menu

After installing SPBShell 3.5.3, I got this strange looking old menu...
How can I set it back? Assume some registry hack.
One thing, thas this instalation enabled - I am able to open new SMS message directly from the taskbar notification icon.
