Problem wtih Real VGA on Sprint TOuch Diamond - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I have a Sprint Touch Diamond. When I install Real VGA (v1.1) and the 96 dpi res pack, my phone dialer is disabled. This is before I even run the program. All I have to do is install it.
The phone is still working, because calls still come in. I can only make a call by selecting someone from the call history. the Dial pad will not come up at all.
any suggestions on how to keep it installed, and have the dialer working?

Altering HTC Home

how can the htc home screen (like on a tilt) be modified to fit our 320x320 screen correctly? i love that home screen but its shrunken on our phone. Any ideas?
Use RealVGA with the 96DPI pack. HTC home will now fit the screen perfect. Also try to get the HTC Home Customizer. It works great.
Both RealVGA and HHC (HTC Home Customizer) can be found on this forum.
Ive tried Real VGA and the 96 dpi setup. They work to make HTC home better, but the biggest problem is what they do to other things. The dialer no longer works correctly. Not to mention all the problems with opera and skyfire. Real VGA just doesnt work for me. Any other ways to alter HTC home? Ive tried SPB and throttle launcher, but non work for me.

When you switch to 96dpi, you can choose to apply the phone skin or not. When you choose No you will have a functioning dialer, with only a visual gap below it. Works very fine for me.
I tried that but it didnt work correctly for me. The buttons (end and call) on the phone didnt work, and the smart dialer no longer worked. Im just over it.
I have been using the Samsung today screen app. I find the icons cartoonish but it shows the time, calls, sms, email and calendar in the main screen.

That is where I found it.

[REQ] large dialer with smart dial?

Is there a large dialpad similar to idialer but with smart dial (so spelling out a contacts name will bring up their number) ? or even a way to enable smart dial?
iDialer here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2694308
or something similar to the minimal dialer here:
http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Skins/Minimal-Dialer-64089.shtml
but doesnt use the diamond phone canvas as a base (because of the issues with wm6.5 & the just stupid amount of ram the diamond phone canvas uses)
currently i'm using the gorgeous Ryon dialer skin here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508920
but the buttons are to small
Anyone know what dialer this is and where to get it?

Seems to be what i'm looking for
looks like an old version of inesoft try here
http://www.inesoft.com/eng/index.php?in=phone.html
You can try Yota Dialer (search here), except it's a little buggy for me.
thanks for replies guys but Innosoft doesn't seem to have smart dial otherwise was good and ya yota is just a bit too buggy (not to mention it takes up as much space as the regular htc dialer)
anyone else have suggestions on a large button dialer with smart dial?

There isn't one really.
I've been looking for the same solution for a while.
Put a request for a developer here instead. I'll put my hand in for the graphics.
iconsoft phonex has smart dialing and a large keypad, I think the latest version uses a lot less ram too a simple dialpad similar to that would be great to replace the small wm dialer
Maybe o3touch brings what you want? See http://www.o3touch.com/
phonex is not bad but when receiving it interferes with the windows 6.5 lock screen, otherwise it was actually pretty good, had smart dial n everything
o3touch seems to be a keyboard not a dialer so cant really comment on that
i came across a really good 1 but its incomplete, its here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437296
its a VGA touchflo 2d dialer, the dial screen is perfect with smart dial and good buttons, as well the incall screen works great.
forgot to test out how it works with an incoming call and the wm6.5 lock screen (though it probably wont work that well)
but the big killer for this is that its not finished and in wm 6.5 when using smart dial the contacts all wash into eachother and become unreadable (the names will just constantly overlap eachother so its unreadable)
anyone know of a dialer similar to this but JUST the dialer, the incall screen is nice but not a big deal but any kind of custom incoming call screen will just screw with the wm6.5 lock screen
i've seen a boat loads of dialers for qvga (minimal dialer being really good) so their has to be something similar for VGA, or if their are any developers who could make 1 for 6.5
its the same dialer as 6.1 but because the lock screen already has slide to answer built in and an incall screen built in we only need to skin the actually dialer itself
and of course if anyone has a dialer they really like please share

iconsoft Phonex and Touch Flo 3d

Hi Guys
I am using Iconsoft Phonex as my dialer. Its a super dialer. My problem is it doesnot integrate with the People tab provided on Touch flo. Clicking on the call button in the people tab doesnot initiate a call. It appears to become a dummy if i have Phonex running. I think it is because TF3D doesnt know it needs to use Phonex dialer to initiate the call. I am sure there is some registry key i need to modify to get this working.
Anybody aware of this? Any known fixes available? This would make my phone perfect!
I am on Dutty 3.3 XT ROM.
cheers
Raz
I'm usingthe stock ROM, PhonEx 1.4 and what you're describing works OK for me. Trying my home landline from TF3D/ People dials home and goes straight into the PhonEx dialling screen. I know that this is no consolation to you at the moment but I would try a complete uninstall and reinstall. HTH.
micken thanks for the reply. I just did an uninstall, reset, reinstall reset... still the same problem... maybe its the rom version i use? i never tried it with the stock rom i had.
its such an annoyance!
One thing.. when you disable phonex, do you get the standard wm dialer working in all its glory? For me the dialer comes back but i cant see the call list in the dialer.. its all blank, though i can dial and make calls and even scroll down the blank list!
i have same problem

[Q]Landscape capable dialer in stock ROM

I grew tired of trying new ROM every other day. I want to try if a stock ROM will be good enough for me. I do not need Manila - I replace it with SPB MS. The stock dialer does not support landscape. I use the phone in my car in landscape (mostly navigation), when someone calls dialed switches the device to portrait and it stays portrait. If I use MS dialer, everything is fine, but MS dialer cannot change the in-call volume.
Is there a CAB that can deliver landscape capable HTC dialer? Only the dialer nothing else needed. Thanks for help.
Hi!
I'm using my Blackstone in the car too, and I'd like exactly the same thing what you want.
I found any dialer cabs from rhodium. As I reed rhodium has the same dialer as Blackstone but is able to rotate for landscape. But I installed all this cabs and finally I have always the original standard skin not that what I saw on the preview by rhodium.
I don't know why?
Anybody know the answer?
B.
A dialer cab what I tried is the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521815 - by optional downloads
And I'm using the original HD ROM with manila 1.3

Will proximity sensor work without SENSE ?

If I choose to install SPB mobile shell 3.5, and not sense, will the WM6.5 dialer (or whatever 3rd party dialer I'll use) know to use the proximity sensor when I have a phone call ?
If you have tried yourself please let us all know if it works or not.
I don't have the HD2.
Anyone who have it can test it. Just disable SENSE, then try to make a phone call (the device will use the orginial WM6.5 dialer) and see if the screen goes off when you take it to your ear.
Was in a could mood so i decided to test it for you. I check windows standard (titanium) in the today settings and made a call (get the same dialer as i get when i use htc sense and the screen goes black when i put it to my ear. So i guess it will work with spb mobile shell.
