Upgrading for dummies - Touch Cruise ROM Development

Hi
I've read and read and read...but I'm still not sure how to upgrade my Polaris
1. If i upgrade, will I be able to use a swedish keyboard in the phone even if I use a WWE-version? I want to be able to use åäö (swedish chars)
2. I i understand it correctly, I should use hard spl? Is there a good guide?
3. Can I backup my current original HTC-rom?
4. After i install Hard-spl, I then install a ROM or do i install ROM at the same time as when I install Hard spl?
Thanks

1.- dont know i use standard keboard, never cared about it.
2.- yes you should, the best guide is : download, install, run on pc, follow onscreen instructions.
3.-dunno about the ROM but you can backup your stuff...
4.- install hardspl first, then the rom.

Thanks!
Anybody else know about swedish keyboard?

hi,
i don't know if you found your answer yet, its out there, just go through the treads and use the search option.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381600&highlight=newbie
what i did was:
1. synchronise first with activesync.
2. start with the official htc update rom.
3. install Hard-spl
4. then hard flash. mail-button + explor button then reset with pen, hold mail and explore ,remove reset. then when asked press send ( green phone button ) do this , and when asked do it again .
5. install cooked rom
6. hard reset.
7. synchronise
p.s. putting the device in bootlader mode is fysicaly demanding ( power button +camera-button and reset with pen, two hands!! ) and seems not to be neccesary
tip:
1. there are a lot of good roms out there try which one you like best ( my favorite m-amine dutch )
2. look for a good backup program ( i like sprite backup, backups on computer and device .exe files ) and if you have a rom you like and synchronised and installed all you programs on and configuered the program- and contact tab etc and everything works fine then backup ! then you can flash all you want
and easely go back to the rom you liked .
3. sometimes if you have to many bugs etc. just start overagain
first hard reset, sync and then start clean with the official rom ( so 1 to 6 as described above )
problems i encounterd : no active sync
no wifi
start all over and they vanished.
have fun!
htc touch cruise
m-amine 2.0 rtm nld + sp2
radio polaris 1 59 42 23
icontact 7.6
tomtom 6
sprite backup
view commander
all working smooth !

FYI: You don't need to push the power button to go into bootloader. Simply hold the camera button and use the stylus to soft reset.
Pezmannen, if you are new the 1st place you should start reading (before attempting to install any cooked ROM) is here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Polaris
-all answers to flashing questions can be found there.

I don't know how you guys do it deciding which ROM to use. You need b_lls the size of rugby balls. Just reading all the suggestions: And I'm sure you mean well, but it scares me to try.

Instaead of Hi I say you are great people
So the case is... I just need to have working Qtek 1010 with SOME additional soft on it inside a ROM...
I've read many pages in this forum and I'm able to find too many ways to change my ROM. I'm totaly confused.
I work for extremaly big worldwide company and they gave me q Qtek, told me to use it, gave me one simple application and web link... so I do.
But the Qtek is much powerfull than that so I need to flash my ROM.
Now comes a question: where can I find one document how to prepare for it, what tools do I need, how to do it... I know after some tries I will be confident enough to do such stuff easlily, my problem is I have only one try, they will make me w trouble if I screw my company recource.
I understand you had milion similar questions like that. Basicly I need help how to flash so I can be sure 100% not less that I can recover in case of trouble. I hope you understand I'm afraid to do it because lack of experience and you are able to tell me if I should try to flash...
or maybe it's better for me to ask my boss to by me a 512 MB SD and install all additional soft on it and stop worring about memory?
I'd appreciate any opinion... you are the best and I'm just new to this bussines...
Get an sd card, backup existing rom to sd card, very easy to do by bootloader method. Enter bootloader by holding down power while inserting stylus in the reset hole on the bottom left of pda then press top right function key, then choose ce to sd. Once you have done this you can check if it has in fact backed up your rom by putting sd card in the pda, enter bootloader, it will then give the option to program the rom, just remove the card and push the reset with stylus again, the other method to check a working backup is to put the sd card in the pda, the pda will ask to format it, say no and remove it. Once you have a backup you can either use xdatools to copy it to your pc or keep it in a safe place, no more files must be written to this card otherwise it will be rendered useless, if you wish to reuse the card sometime it will need formatting. Once you have your backup, go to www.yorch.net, cook yourself a rom and download it in the exe format, this will do a normal install from your pc while connected to pda via activesync, if it messes up you always have your backup. Once you become more proficient at using xdatools you might wish to try out lots of different roms until you are happy with the result, you can go on to sd card flashing which is a much better way of programming rom and much less prone to error because it doesnt rely on a pc connection. I would advise you to leave the radio stack alone, if you can make and receive call ok leave it alone. Have a thorough look around the forum before proceeding. Its good fun to program your pda and you can make it a much better tool, but make sure you always have a way out if things go wrong.
www.yorch.net not working... is there a place like that?
Hi!
I read the above post, one of the clearest here, and I almost got the confidence to finally do this ROM update...
But:
1) Can't find the www.yorch.net website where I could "cook myself a rom and dowload it in a .exe format"
2)It's still not very clear to me what exactly cooking a ROM means: it concerns the OS (the version 1.53, 1.72 type of stuff), the extended ROM (the default programs u get starting after and hard reset like the SW for the camera etc) or both?
Thanks!!!
Chris
Another ROM Kitchen
Try the following ROM Kitchen http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
I noticed that you have the XDAII. Now, someone please correct me if I'm wrong but the directions above and the ROM kitchens are all for the XDA I or Wallaby version.

Chris,
Those Roms are made for XDA1 beware it's not made for the device you have!!!!!!
What's the kitchen for XDA II
THANK YOU!
I was starting on the wrong foot... :-( :?
Anyway a couple of more question:
1) Is there a place like that for XDA II Kitchen? Is my undestanding of what a kitchen is correct?
2) The process for ROM backup outlined above, is still correct for XDA II?
Thanks!
Chris
I'm in the same boat as you CChris. I've been diligently a daily searching through the numerous topics on this site looking for similar information. I haven't found it yet - or at least nothing not-to-super-technical. I do know that you get to the bootloader by pressing the power button, reset button, and down on the toggle at the same time rather than the Wallaby way of the power and reset buttons only. It also seems that there are issues regarding 'country' and that it requires software to get around this. I haven't found the software yet - the links that I've seen all point to "itsme's" website which is currently down.
You can read the thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9053&highlight=
Hopefully, someone with a lot more knowledge than me can go over updating the XDA II as clearly as cruisin-thru did for the XDA I.
The instructions on http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HimalayaRomFlashing are correct.
Unfortunately, there was an issue where the wiki removed the ~ from itsme's website's address. It's been replaced with %7e and now the link works.
If you download a ROM from the same vendor as your device (e.g. Qtek ROM on Qtek device, iMate ROM on iMate device, etc.) you don't need to use these instructions, you can just install the ROM upgrade from your vendor.
If you want to use the latest ROM (from iMate) and your device isn't an iMate, you need to decrypt, change the "country" code, encrypt, and then run the upgrade.
You can also edit the extended ROM when flashing, but it's easier to use itsme's extRom Tools. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=8422
You do NOT need to flash the ROM if you are not experiencing problems, or if you are experiencing problems which the new ROM also has (for example ugly cleartype fonts, which may be fixed without flashing). Flashing the ROM may void your warrantee. You will lose all your data when you upgrade, and you should not restore a backup, only your my documents folder.
If you are a newbie, it may be best not to flash your ROM. If you typed in itsme in google, you would have found his xs4all address as the third link, and would have quickly found out his site wasn't down at all, but the link was just wrong.
Just a warning: the things that could go wrong when flashing are potentially much worse than a wrong URL, and the answer to those problems won't be the third link in google.

Some general questions

Hi guys,
I just ordered my Herald and want to ask some questions before it arrives.
1. What exactly is the advantage of the modified ROMs except for the look?
2. I've often read about some functions not working like MMS, true? (I'm from Germany and using a simyo simcard (E-PLus) )
3. Touch-It / Cube? Just some "Designs" or what is behind that?
4. Touch-Flo, reminds me of the iPhone. But I guess the Herald isn't really capable of it, is it?
5. I'd like to use my pair of 3,5mm earphones and I know I have to get this MiniUSB-->3,5mm Adapter, but I wanted to know if the sound quality has to suffer when using this adapter and does it matter which one I buy (on ebay)?
Well, thanks in advance. I know it sounds a little newbie, but you all started sometime right?

1. The modified roms run A LOT faster and more efficiently than the stock rom. Plus the roms give you a lot more options, and easier to tweak.
2. Some of the roms when flashed will require a fix (which is easily found) in the forum.
3. Not sure what you are asking
4. Yeah, the wings can run it fine. I actually like the touchflo cube. It makes it easier to use your phone with one hand. Runs smooth though. There are some mods you can download you can install and make the phone look and act identical to the iphone if you want....I don't care for the iphone but to each their own.
5. Well, anytime you use and adapter with an electrical signal, there will be some signal degradation, but I don't think it will be enough for you to notice.
Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot dougstoner,
Touch-It is a rom often mentioned here (right?), I guess it is an example of the modified roms, which, as you say, run a lot faster and smoother.
Is there a tutorial on how to "flash" another ROM and can I backup the one that's on my phone atm, the stock one so to speak? Of course I lose warranty when playing with the rom, but I can put it back to the default initial state can't I?
Well I guess I'll have to read a loooot more here.
EDIT1: As I already said, I do not own a HTC Wing (T-Mobile) but a Herald directly from HTC and a german prepaid card, but that should not affect my decision on what ROM I use right?

Yeah man...no problemo. Touch it is one of the roms here...but there are a LOT of others to pick from. Personally, I've tried just about all of them, and they really all have their pluses and minuses, but I really like the open touch series. Yes, you will see I big difference from the stock rom to the custom roms in here. Plus, you can run this program called batterystatus, and it will allow you to overclock your phone to run even faster. I run mine at 273 Mhz and it's stable.
Yes, there is a tutorial on how to flash. There are a lot of options, but some of the roms require a hard spl. Most of the open touch series do not require this, so that's my recommendation for flashing the first time. Eventually, you will want to hard spl so it's easier to flash, but you have to be careful when you do this, because, you could end up bricking your phone.
Here is the link to reviews of each rom

Here is how to flash Open Touch 3.0
How-To Flash the HERALD-USPL-beta3:
Download and extract both files.
Place the extracted Open Touch v2.5 Biggy.nbh into the Herald-uspl-beta3/RUU folder.
Move the entire Herald-uspl-beta3 folder to the root of the c:\.
Follow the simple readme file.
Break down of how to flash this rom:
Then follow these steps:
II. How do I flash an NBH file?
a. USPL
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A4N36HLO
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.
That's it. Welcome to the flasher's world.
***Yeah, it really doesn't matter if you are using a Herald or Wing really. The only issue you will run into is sometimes the keyboard doesn't get mapped properly, but this is usually the issue for the wing and not the herald.
Oh, and yeah, you can always reflash to the stock rom, so if you have to send it in for warranty work, it will be covered. Welcome to the forum, and if you have any other questions, just private message me.
Thanks again buddy, I owe you something!
You say the hard spl method (as posted below right?) is easier but I could end up with a bricked phone. But what is "the other method" then?
And with a overclocked cpu, how much will that effect my standby time or the time until I need to recharge?

No, the method I posted was the USPL method, which is easier to do. I don't think it's even possible to "brick" your phone using the uspl method. Just a note, before you hard spl, do a LOT of reading first. It's really a simple process, but you want to make sure you understand it first.
Oh, with your phone overclocked, you won't notice a difference at power really at all. Your phone will only overclock when the phone is on. When your phone is asleep, it clocks down to the standard speed.
aah , ok so the "hard spl" method is not the "uspl method", when you say "you might want to hard spl your phone, so it's easier to flash", what do you mean by that?
So is this right:
I need Hard SPL to some kind of "unlock" the phone for being able to flash unsigned ROMs?
USPL temporarily cid-unlocks your phone (allows custom roms to be flashed) while HardSPL is more permanent (you'll never brick your phone due to a bad rom flash, and it can be removed)
Ah ok so obviously it seems better to use HardSPL right?
yep
loads better

Well, yes and no. In the long run, it's better to Hard spl your phone. A lot of the roms in the forum require hard spl first. If you somehow fail during the hard spl, then you end up with a "brick". I used the uspl method first to flash, and it was a little easier to do, but hard spl'ing insn't complicated either. You just have to make sure of your ipl number is higher than 4. You can check this by holdign down the camera button, and press the soft reset button (use the stylus on the side to press) and continue to hold the camera button until you get to what's called the bootloader screen. It's red, blue, and green. Here are the instructions for hard spl, but MAKE SURE your ipl number is hight FIRST. If it isn't, you will brick your phone.
I case of people who don´t read 200 post and still brick their device - here is the guide that worked for ALL people with:
HTC P4350
XDA Terra
WING
with IPL 4.xxx and higher!!! (that is IMPORTANT)
and then follow this:
Default
For me it was working when:
1. install canonyang.cab
2. install aserpolicy.cab
3- install disablesecurity.cab
4. SOFTRESET
5. run RUU from Hard-SPLWM6 folder verison 4.70.yang
6. screen will become white - WAIT until it reboots itselfe.
7. done!
check if SPL now is 4.70.yang
Fore sure: I used this
http://rapidshare.de/files/38148213/...l_WM6.rar.html
mirror: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ot8zsn
It worked for many others, too.

What are the most recent ROM releases? I'm having a hard time finding what is the most up to date release of certain ROMS and just what are the newest ones in general.
So Open Touch and Touch-IT are the favs?

Well, they are probably the most popular, and the latest Open touch is v 6.0 diamond. But, I have tried every rom on here and they are all good, it's more of a preference really. There will be a new release tomorrow of 6.0 with the windows mobile 7 theme. I think the latest touch it series is the diamond beta I think.... You can check out pureskillzzzz review on each one.

You are good to go....as long as the first number is 4, and not 1. Hard splice first, then you can flash to any rom you wish. When does your phone arrive? You should try out ttrans newest rom open touch v 6.0. I really like it.
Yea but I have to get a SDMicro Card first... Doesnt work without right? Or is there any chance?
EDIT: I got my phone about 2 hrs ago.
you don't need an sd card to hardSPL your phone. You need one to sd-flash, though

How to return to old windows mobile

Hi everybody , I have i-mate JASJAM with WM5 soon i'v upgraded to windows mobile diamond ,however I want to return to the old windows I mean the original one but I dont know how to do this , any help please??
Press Start -> Settings -> System -> Clear Storage, press enter to launch, you will be prompted to type "1234" and to press Enter. If you do this you will lose all contents and the Dash will be restored to its original configuration. It takes about 5 minutes for it do this and reboot.
hold down the two soft keys and power the device on. Or you can also hold both soft buttons while pushing the stylus into the reset hole.
Not if mamadoharoona has updated the rom... Doing what DhaMajoR said will reset the Hermes to default BUT it uses the OS installed as the default. So, if you have flashed a new OS on your device you need to flash the WM05 stock rom to get that back, and good luck finding it...
Cheers...
Thank you DhaMajor , Ultramag69 is right the OS system does'nt change after applying your steps ,thats make me want to ask ULTRAMAG69 how can i flash the WM05 rom? I tried the same steps i have done with WM black diamond ,and the os still the same.
If you have any advice please tell me
Thank you for your interest
You need to find the WM05 flash file, good luck with that as they are as hard to find as hen's teeth if you didn't keep a copy of your original WM05 rom.
Make sure you have Hard SPL V7 on your Hermes and then flash the new rom. I use the sd card method as it seems safer to me, my opinion, and is REALLY easy.
1. Format 2Gb or less sd card FAT32. Copy .nbh file of new rom to it and rename to hermimg.nbh .
2. Put sd card into Hermes and reset Hermes into bootloader.
3. If 1st two steps done right, follow the prompts. If not, just reset to get out of bootloader, fix up what needs fixing and try again.
Cheers...
Thank you
Thank you very much

Request - Complete N00b's Guide to flashing HTC Touch Viva to Win Mo 6.5

People,
Problem: I want to upgrade my HTC Touch Viva to Win Mo 6.5.
Riders: I want to ensure that if required, I can flash the HTC original ROM that the company gave on phone. I have already downloaded original ROM from amarkangda 's thread.
My Status: I had an Asus P320 which I had upgraded to Win Mo 6.5. It involved copying the flash.bin (or whatever it was) to mem card, boot it with some keys pressed (service mode or somethin like that) and it took on from there.
Requirements: I am too confused with SPL and what not since this is my first HTC phone. Can anyone please provide a complete step by step (Bullet Point wise) guide as to what I have to do to upgrade the phone to Windows Mobile 6.5.
I tried the search function but was not able to find anything. If there is something and you know a link to it, please provide it. I will be highly obliged.

see the link for flashing ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446446)
I Agree
I think that "The N00b's Guide to Flashing Opal" really is needed...
i mean, yes, there are a couple of guides with some information on "how to" but nothing complete and simple enough for noobs... there are a lot of new HTC users that have never flashed a phone before and have no idea how to do it, and even some experienced users on flashing other brands (mi personal experience, i used to flash motorola V3, Z6 and L7i) but get really lost when it comes to flashing HTC.
And after i learned i tried to help other new users but without success (see post 4 and 5 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=638911).
A complete guide should be made with all the terminology explained, the most common methods to flash, where to find stock roms, what kind of custom roms are there (ej. Light rom, cooked rom, what winmo ver is it using and pros and cons on all of them, etc.) all the software needed and a step by step guide with FAQ included. it should be community maintained to keep it always up-to-date.
I'll offer my help for anything needed and for Spanish translation.

@mehulkarate
i'm sorry that this is just a copy and paste (and a bit of editing) from another post that i wrote, but i'll be easier for you:
I had the exact same problem when i first started to flash htc opal... didn't know how to do it, and didn't know what rom to use... maybe someone should create a complete, step by step guide (flashing opal for dummies) and post it as sticky...
ok, here it goes...
Flashing:
0.- if you'll be using a cooked rom (a modified Rom), you'll need to do a hardSPL. check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446446 (HardSPL is basically the way to remove the drm lock on the phone)
1.- Make sure that you have activesync if you are using windows xp or windows device manager if you are using windows vista and the latest version of .net framework installed on your pc.
2.- unzip the new rom files on a folder somewhere accesible (desktop for example)
3.- connect the device as an activesync conection, make sure the battery is charged 50% or more
4.- just run the RUU installer (Rom Update Utility), sometimes named CustomRUU.
5.- Follow the onscreen instructions.
YOU ARE DONE.
that's it... no complications, no special drivers, no weird commands or files to copy and paste. so simple. Just one thing: make sure you don't disconect usb during rom update.
so, resumed: Download Rom, Connect activesync, run RUU, done.
About what's the best 6.5 rom: PhamQuang. check for the latest on the rom development section. but different users will recommend different roms, so i'll recommend to try several before sticking to a particular one.
great...

0.- if you'll be using a cooked rom (a modified Rom), you'll need to do a hardSPL. check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446446 (HardSPL is basically the way to remove the drm lock on the phone)

if he isn't going to use a cooked rom (modified rom) what should he be doing flashing???
neways...good of you to help noobies out.
@mohitkumar
there is an alternate way to do the same: which one is harder or easier is up to you
RUU (Rom Update Utility) via SDCard (your memory card) search for it in the forum.
Thanks Guyz.
So HardSPL has to be done, there is no escaping doing that?
Do I absolutely need to have DotNet on my PC? (I do not particularly like it, it slows down my PC)
Since I have already upgraded the Asus P320 from SD card, that will always be an option for me. Any ideas or links to rom which i can just put in sdcard, boot in service mode(or whatever with that volume down key pressed thingy) and it takes on from there, no hardspl etc? Just like i did for the Asus P320..
Especially if it saves me from going through installing .net on PC.
Yes
as far as i know: Yes and Yes... there's no scaping hardSLP because that's the one that'll let you install a modified rom... And .Net is needed because all update utilities will use it (HardSPL and RUU)...
But as Freelancer81 said, there's an alternate way to install a custom RUU through the SD card for the Opal too, i'll let you find that out on your own because i have never used that method nor have any previous experience on similar methods.... maybe you wont need HardSPL and .NET this way.
I'm searching for Volunteers to create the noobs guide to flashing opal... anyone willing to help PM me.
Hmm, so i will search for a ROM that can be installed from the card. May be, just may be, it can be done without the HardSPL thing.
If that fails, I will stick it up and go with process given here.

As far as i know you cant install any cooked rom via SD card with out hardspl only official roms can be flashed via SD without hardspl. Bro if you are so afraid about ur warranty then i would suggest u to use default os for more time, or install hardspl u can retain ur warranty by flashing stock spl when needed.

Asus p535 info and english unofficial roms

I've been searching for two whole days to find some WWE cooked roms for the asus p535, and i could barely find anything, so i have been searching for roms on russian sites (i love my mom, she translated a lot of info for me) I am posting this because almost 99% of links from English forums/websites are dead, and someone might be in desperate search for rom updates, just like i was. I can't put up the credits though because, as i said, i don't speak russian and i didn't want to bother my mom with it more than necessary.
I will try to periodically update this post in case i find anything new.
TO FLASH ANY ROMS YOU MUST FIRST RUN THIS EXE IN ORDER TO UNLOCK YOUR LANGUAGE
http://asapload.com/info?id=131732
Instructions on flashing roms:
1. Get a mini sd card 2gb or less
2. Format it to Fat16 filesystem (recommended, not necessary)
3. Place ASUS.UnlockLangID.exe and GalaxyII.nb0 on the ROOT of your sd card
4. Run ASUS.UnlockLangID.exe
5. Press dpad up + record + camera + power buttons simultaneously and then push the soft reset button
6. You should see a white screen with text on it, insert your usb cable or usb charger and the update should start.
7. After the update it will automatically soft reset your device

Is any other way to do this without the reset buton? ... because mine is broken.
Thanks.
you can't gog to bootloader without combinaison button... if your button is broke, you can easily open your P535... mine is still here... sometimes i use this one to test my skins on small res...
I already opened my P535, i've just bought it. It had broken screen(the screen is fine but the touch does not work) and have change it myself by my P525 Asus screen(that works fine). Same screen P535 and P525, same batery....
I also want to try Android on P535.I loved P525 so much and now it looks very bad.
I think I need to take P535 to service, for repair that reset buton .
I wonder if there is Titanium to work on WM6 P535. Does anybody knows?
Sory for my bad english.
Thanks.
Windows mobile 6.5 works like a charm on P535... when i use my P535, i made some rom with a Friend... French & english version...
support 64 Mb & 128 Mb, clean and full stuff version...
LastesT ROM are here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508315
About your broken Reset... you can use USB flash method... now i remember method using actve Sync...
Read more info with link !
Thanks, but I read on your site (i think) and in the tutorial it say this
"Connect your P535 to PC via USB port. Press Rec+Power button (at the same time) and then Soft Reset (Press Rec+Power button util Boot Loader program startup you will see message Waiting)."
This mean that I also cannot instal, and i am afraid to brick the phone.
To P525 I managed to change many times, in miniSD mode.
By USBloader I managed to brick my Samsun Wave s8500, so if I need to press Reset... I am afraid to brick this one to. (Of course Wave works now thanks to a friend... after 8 weeks of trying...)
But there isn't Titanium for WM6? I only want to have Titanium for the menu, not necesarly WM6.5, if it's posible.
Anyway in few days I'l take the phone to service to see that the reset buton can be fixed.
Very good job with that roms.
Thank again.
1 - TITANIUM is WM6.5 basic UI
2 - USB loader is only used to turn your device on bootlader mode then flash using MiniSD
3 - Flash is easy as well... my P535 has been flashed more than 500x... and is still alive... Flash on P535 is very easy...
If you have some trouble... you can upgrade using official method to WM6.1... no more version after this one...
Have fun !
I mean I am afraid only because cannot press reset... If the reset buton can be fixed I will instal WM6.5 ...
I tried official (I think), update by WI-FI and update by PC-Sync ... there is an error, code 80072ee7 ...
I'l wait to fix the reset buton.
Thanks for the answers.
Can someone help me please?
5. Press dpad up + record + camera + power buttons simultaneously and then push the soft reset button
when i do this, i get the white screen with do i want to reset or just carry on green button for reset, so if i press this, it just simply resets my current os and hasnt loaded a new rom
i can get to the same screen by just pressing reset and dpad up.. is this the same?
how do i actually get it to load the new os off the sd card? as i seem to fail at that point
thanks
its ok done it now, but all roms seem pretty much same crappy
does anyone have a link to one of the ones that run something like the htc touch flo interface? i have seen this one but couldnt find a donwload for it
I have instaled the one like HTC(I think) ... name is "rom0.zip"=> galaxyII.NBO I think is the one with SPBshell
I like this phone now more than S8500( this only has superamoled screen), on this OS
Can the screen be replaced by one with 256k colors?? The phone is better with a better screen. Don't knnow how to explain .
Thanks to Award982 for making this topic.
Thanks to Lesscro for creating this ROMs

English touch flo 6.5 styled rom:http://asapload.com/info?id=131735
Try this one, but it isn't something very good... asus p535 is pretty much a dead phone now, no one has one these days, and i bought mine by accident two weeks ago (my neighbors father had one for gps and didn't need it anymore), because i've been looking for one for three years already (i had one but it died and i sold it for parts). There are barely any people still using this phone. If i get an english kitchen by any chance, i will try to make a good stable rom with 6.5 wm and touchflo 2d.
