Polaris Radio_1.59.42.15 extracted.

I have extracted the official Polaris Radio_1.59.42.15 from RUU_Polaris_O2_DE_3.13.207.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.0 7_1.59.42.15_Ship
I have tested flashing also. It works. Now I have to see if Radio Rom works fine. Please let me know if the radio is good.
I have 1 bar more now inside the house, than with Murata_1.58.25.14.

I have tested camera too. I have same problem. Camera don't work. I flashed back to Radio 1.58.25.14 Murata. Now camera works again. So it must be a problem in the Radio_1.59.42.15. I am sorry for that. The extraction of radio rom from RUU_Polaris_O2_DE_3.13.207.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.0 7_1.59.42.15_Ship worked, but the rom it is not a good rom. Thank you all for testing it also.

udk the lastest rom include the radio.3-4 bar.it isnt look bad

I had before the R 1.58.25.14 Murata, I have not noticed much difference, but this is going very well compared to others.

Can I use this Radio with WM6.0 or do I have to Upgrade to WM6.1

I have WM6.0 and it works and yes you have to hard SPL first.

At the moment, camera on radio 1.59.42.15 only works with UDK's SyriusRO Project ROM, Phamquang's V31 ROM, German O2 Upgrade ROM, Spanish and SFR Upgrade ROM.
Compared to Murata Radio's, it does have a better reception, faster Satnav Fix and longer battery life.

i love this radio, no battery drainage, fast gps fix, very good hsdpa reception, since my polaris went to htc repair center hsdpa didnt work anymore because they flashed radio 1.58.25.14 on it, now with this radio, everything works again, even faster and better !

Camera and calls problem
I installed this Radio along with Original Polaris ROM, SEA 1.28.457.2 WWE. I encountered camera issues with this. Basically black screen on the viewfinder. And when i make a call, i get a "hanging" dial tone like "truuuuuuuuuu".
Anyone have this problem or any advise please?

Either you use the mentioned ROM's or revert you radio ROM back to the previous one you had prior to upgrading.

Thanks for the info. I missed the post that this radio only support certain versions of ROMS. Too bad for me... I need MMS on a frequent basis so, I guess I'll revert till HTC provides a stupid upgrade!!! Grr!!!

Since i flashed the new radio my HTC
can't receive 100%. Than I flashed back to
udK GER Beta 3 with 1.58.25.14 but this doesn't fix the problem.
My Orbit 2 have no problem to get 100% with udK GER Beta 3
Please help me....

You need Murata Radio ROM.
Search the forum and you'll find it.

Radio reception

Device: HTC Touch Cruise
I used the original 1.58.21.23 Radio and that worked perfect, goor reception. But I flashed to some newer radio's because I want to flash to a newer ROM.
1.59.42.15 Reception good, incoming calls, but no sounds both ways. (GPS ok)

I changed back to the 1.58.21.23 that worked fine before and now I can make calls again, but my reception is poor now! So is this radio not really the same even if the numbers are the same?
I'm using the Udk Diamond R8 ROM. Didn't change that..

Ok, temperary solution. The Murato 1.58.25.14 seems to be working fine.
Stil looking for a solution to use the 1.59.xx, because this is what we needs for flashing a new rom according to the cooker.

You need to flash new ROM 3.13 or 3.18 first in order to be able to use the new Radio 1.59.x.xx, not the other way 'round.

Ok, I was trying out some radio's first before the rom flash, so I knew for sure that that wasn't going to be a problem.
I flashed to a newer rom earlier while using the 1.58.21.23 radio, that didn't work offcourse.
But flashing the rom first is the only way to get the new radio's 1.59.xx working ok?
New rom + new radio and everything should be allright?

This is correct!
3.13/3.18 ROM + Radio 1.59.xx OK
1.24-1.60 ROM + Radio 1.58.xx and inofficial 1.64.xx OK
Other combination is impossible...results in: No sound, no Camera (black), no data connection.
It doesn't matter, if the ROM is WM6.0 or WM6.1 at all.
It is e.g. possible to cook WM6.1 with 1.60 OEM or 3.13/3.18 OEM.
It's just a matter of OEM drivers used (see above)

try to go to settings >> phone >> band >> and set the network type to GSM or CDMA depending on your provider. i had the same problem but after changing this i had a very good reception

Thnx, but I allready tried that, didn't make a difference, except for the decrease in internet speed from 3G to G.
Problem solved with murata radio.

I suggest some moderator to put this on sticky and visible. Trying to improve the reception of my Polaris with Syrius r4 I almost went crazy. I didn't know about these combinations bellow and searching the forum I found the Murata Radio and then the 1.64.xx ROMs. After installing then I experienced No sound bug and I just made it work again after finding this message in the middle of this thread.
Anyway, tks now it's all working fine!

Major problems with Radio need advice

Ok, I just picked up this phone and am having major problems with the Radio reception.
Peoples phone calls either go straight into my voicemail, or I receive the call put reception is broken, I can hear a word or two every few seconds, and the other person cannot hear anything.
I'm on Rogers in Canada, anyone using this phone in Canada or on Rogers can advise which radio rom to use? I have flashed at least 6 already, even the Murata one and still no success... any help or suggestions would be great.
Just flashed the original back WWE_3.13.405.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.07_1.59.42.15_Ship.exe and its a tiny bit better, where it doesnt go straight to voice mail, but reception is horrid still, inaudible.

try flashing radio 1.59.44.02... then hard reset see if that helps

Your signature does not give an idea of which ROM you are using. However how's the reception on your other phone (elfin)? Are you using it on the same network? Since you have already used 1.59.44.02; try going back to 1.60 ROM and a Murata Radio.

Hi 02xda2, well I'm using the PDAVIET Rom, which is 3.18.457.46, which I thought I had in my signature. The reception on my Elfin is 100% and have never had a problem, but when using the same sim card in the Polaris I'm having those major issues. The Polaris is CID/SIM unlocked already using Oli's HardSPL. I'll try flashing the 1.60 right now with the Murata and reply with results.

That's actually the first Radio I had installed, and had no luck at all with it.
UPDATE #1: Just tried the with PDAVIET V30 CE OS 5.2.20748 (Build 20748.1.4.0) along with the Murata 1.58.21.23 Radio, same problems as mentioned before. I'm also going through Settings>Phone>Band and changing it to GSM, but still the problems remain.. any suggestions?
UPDATE #2: I'v flashed the RUU_Polaris_HTC_RUS_1.25.411.1_radio_sign_25.65.30.04_1.58.21.23_polaris_murata_Ship.exe rom as suggested in another thread, and managed to get perfect sound received, and decent sent. Unfortunately I can't read Russian, so I managed to get the RUU_Polaris_HTC_WWE_1.25.405.1_radio_sign_25.65.30.04_1.58.21.23_Ship.exe which is the WWE counterpart to the RUS version, tried it with the stock Radio and no luck, flashed the Murato Radio onto the WWE and it was back to horrible.
UPDATE #3: So the only solution right now is the RUS rom, but I can't function with that as I don't read Russian. So running the HTC RUS update with radio, then flashing a new WWE rom without radio on top will work. Also atl4ntys's suggestions (below) most likely is worthy of a shot as well .
This phone being a bit aged and maybe out of warranty, how is HTC with their warranties/repairs?

hey Lokosis, have u tried c_shekhar's rom? its extremely stable, its wwe and also includes radio. u find the link in my signature. if the radio that comes with it doesn't do the job 4u then upgrade to the latest 1.58 available: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479306
If still bad signal then the only thing I can say is to falsh the original spl rom and radio and send it in for repair.
PS: Make sure u flash without the micro sd card in it and hard reset as soon as u see the config screen after u flash. good luck!

so far so good,successfully changed language to english .
when i call the first time the speaker works fine but if i click on SPEAKER ON it switches to loudspeaker but gives out a very annoying sound & if i switch back to normal speaker it would still give out that annoying sound . only way to turn it off and put it back on .
radio rom version 1.59.42.15 . do i need to upgrade it to latest ? 1.59.46.12 ?

I think you will need a 1.58.xx.xx radio with that ROM.

Problem after installing radio 1.59.46.12

I have installed this radio and now under command manager I can't activate wi-fi since the button is now greyish. Actually the wi-fi works if activated from setting but it's still annoying. Is there a way to fix it or is just a radio issue?

Hi everyone this is my first post here and I need some help.
I just upgraded my Polaris from 3LIT3 VI (Windows 6.1) to Kostas244_ROM3g_23016_FINAL_B1 (Windows 6.5). Everything was working fine until this morning when I upgraded my radio from 1.65.30.09, that was included in my old ROM, to 1.59.46.12.
The problem is that I can't activate wi-fi from the command manager anymore because its button is now disable but if I use the connection settings to activate it everything works.
Any idea to fix this issue?

Known problem, which might sometimes occur. Try to Hardreset
once or twice and most likely the Wifi button will be available
again as sudden as it greyed out. Once it's working it will
stay working.

After one hard reset I got back the wi-fi button. Anyway I think a sticky thread about radios with their problem and feature would be great .

What is the diffence between these two radios 1.59.42.15 (my current) and 1.59.46.12? I read that 1.59.46.12 was newer but is it recommended to upgrade? Are there any benefits to signal strength or the like?

You can upgrade and see for yourself what radio version is best for you and your location....From 1.59.46.12 you can downgrade easily to your previous radio if it's not good for you.
