problems with rom upgrade and bootloader upgrade, pls help

I try to upgrade my XDA to the Special Edition Rom, but when I run the Special Edition Rom executable (program A) I get the following error message :
Error 007: no rom image file.
Cannot find the rom image to upgrade your Pocket PC. Please download and try again.
After I click OK on this pop-up window, the program ends and no changes are made. :?
(Besides this, the "release notes" window stays empty: no release notes are shown.)
As suggested by biso007, I also ran the "fix bootloader"program from the XDA tools to upgrade the bootloader to 5.15 and to get rid of the write protect, but I get the error message "Unable to find flash info offset. Cannot disable bootloader write protect."
Who has a suggestion what I should do next ? The SD card method ? How does this work ?

Most probably your boot loader version has a protection mechnism (higher than 5.17) ... try the XDAtools flashing which should update your boot loader to 5.15 ... otherwise you have to use the SD card method.

Using SD method to downgrade your bootloader!

Stuck on v2.00.x bootloader

I've managed to get myself stuck up a dead end.
My device: Orange UK spv c500.
SPL: 2.00.0013
OS: None!
I upgraded to wm2005 but despite updating the reg keys posted by subliminal I couldn't install the certificate I use to ActiveSync with my Exchange Server; so I decided to downgrade.
I immediately realized my first mistake - I didn't have a backup of the old ROM on SD. Instead I downloaded one from a link in one of the forums and used psdwrite to put it on my SD card. I ran the update, but it failed and the device wouldn't start.
My next mistake was to try and re-flash the 'phone with the latest Orange UK ROM (v4.2.1.1). What I'd forgotten was that this updates the bootloader at the same time.
The flash appeared to go fine, but on restart I'm stuck in the bootloader. When I attempt to re-flash again the summary in the RUU says "Image Version:" ie no image version present.
If I was still on a v1 bootloader I'd be able to run IU_SPL+PatchedRUU again to give me an IU mode bootloader. With a v2 bootloader I can run this as many times as I want, but it won't put a lower version on.
Without an IU mode bootloader I can't "r2sd spl" to use itsme's dowload tools. Without a working OS I cant use TyphoonNBFTools to flash the SPL.
Can you think of any other solution?
If there was someway to "con" the rom update process into installing an older version of the SPL I'd be OK. Alternatively if it was possible to change the version of the SPL in SPVDEVS-SPL.nbf I could get it on.

did you tried this rom backup with your card writer i used this one with psd write and it worked download this one and try it ;-)

Help Stuck in Bootloader

Hi
Can anyone help?
I'm stuck in Bootloader SPL 1.1.
I've tried hard and soft reset but it just comes back to Bootloader (Red, Green, Blue and white screen).
Can re flash as it's not being recognised and just timesout.
On the screen it say's
ATHE100
IPL-v2.02
ATHE100
SPL-v1.10. RP00
Would trying to flash from SD card help, don't have a miniSD card so not tried.
Not sure how it got to this state as I purchased it from eBay as is.

Tried flashing the stock firmware
Athena_WM6_TMUK_2.35.110.4
But get error Invalid Vendor ID
All other ROM's and upgrades that I've tried just timeout.
Any help or pointers appreciated.

If your casing is black you may need to use these original roms

once you have loaded a rom ,you have to unlock to accept non native roms.

I forgot to mention it's a sliver / white T-mobile Ameo UK version.
The box says it should be WM 6.
What original ROM should I try.

i think the reply to task32 means it is not unlocked and i believe you should be able to flash a TMUK rom based on your description of the case.
Go basic and make sure you removed the sim and sd card
Use an XP machine and try a different cable.
You could try to find a TMUK wm5 rom
Flashing from sd card also removes some potential problems.
If all else fails you could try messaging cmonex who is a whiz in these situations

Thanks for the help.
I've tried 2 PC's both XP and different cables still same issue.
Any idea where I could get TMUK WM5 tried looking but can't find, it's probably the only ROM I've not tried.
I've sent a message to cmonex so hopefully he will be able to help.
I've tried the TMUK WM6 and it at least starts to flash 1% then gets Invalid Vendor ID. All other ROM's just fail to communicate.

Model ID
I believe I have a corrupt or Invalid Model ID which is preventing and ROM from being flashed.
Does anybody know the mtty commands or can help me.

I saw your multiple posts.
please don't ask the same question in 5 different threads.
The first thing to be clear about is what hardware do you have
x7500/x7501 is different to X7510
Which one do you have?
To apply any of the special ROMs you need to be unlocked and when you entered bootloader you should have seen either
athe100
IPL-v1.00
athe100
SPL-v1.20 Olipro
0r
Athe
IPL-v1.00
Athe
SPL-v3.50 Olipro
if you have an x7510 the numbers would have been different with Athe400(designating a different hardware)
If the SPL was 1.0x then you weren't unlocked and I don't think anyone knows how to fix your phone from here.
If you know what your original software is you could try flashing from bootloader.
if you don't understand the terms I have used, I suggest you read up the stickys and wiki before asking anything else as any solution will be quite complex.
Have a think and a read before doing anything else

[SOLVED] - ERROR 140 while running RUU

hello everyone
I hope that someone will read this post and helps me.
Yesterday I started experiencing problems with touch screen ( I was running 3.6 elelinux). I had these problems before, and I had to send my phone on a waranty for a checkup.
So I tried to run RUU to get my phone to clean state.
I got 140 error from RRU file (RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver)
- Wrong bootloader version.
So far I tried:
- running different RUU (405.66)
- creating goldcard and running RUU
- getting rom.zip from RUU procedure, renaming to HEROIMG.zip and flashing through fastboot.
All options failed. RUU keep telling me error 140 - bootloader version, fastboot tells me that I have newer version.
What can I do now ?
I could use some help

Solved. I flashed SPL 2007, I read it lets You bypass some checks during flashing. So I put HEROIMG.zip on the card, and everything went smoothly.
I hope that if anyone experiences this type of a problem solution will be the same

HTC Trophy - NEED FULL FLASH

Hi, guys.
I have real problems with my Trophy. My English is not so good, but i try to explain my problem:
1. I had HTC_Trophy with Spanish vodaphone(vodaphone logo when system starting), but it seems unlocked, because i can use it in Uzbekistan.
2. Bootloader version was 5.12.xx, and i wanted to downgrade it. I wanted to install on my phone DFT v4.
3. I done it by GoldCARD, and i got message radio update failed , update failed (in red).
After this problem i can't install any ROM's, even original SPAIN. It give me error 226: Flash Write Error on 10%. Only DFT Roms installing fully, but after rebooting device i get 7 vibro signals(anybody know what means this error 226, and 7 vibro signals).
Than my friend installed in my device Full Flash (Model ID: SPAR1000, i have Model IDC401000) by Riff Box J-tag. And my device turned ON. But camera still not working, i think that it cause wrong Model id.
And one thing else, when i wanted to install Radio separately by RUU, i've got the same Error: 226 on 98%. Well i think that something wrong with my Radio module.
Any IDEAS???
P.S. Anybody, please give me FULL FLASH for my trophy, with Model IDC401000, for Riff Box J-Tag. I really need it.

Bootloader version: 5.12.2250.1
164 - Vodafone_SPA operator, with CID VODAP304
I've tried to install this version, but it failed: ERROR 226: Flash Write Error.

Try building a GoldCard, and then install the Euro Spark rom into your phone using GoldCard method. This will also change its CID at the same time, and make it possible to downgrade SPL and install HSPL (custom roms).

RUU​_Spark​_HTC​_Europe​_1.10​.401​.04_Spark​_5.52​.09_RELEASE​.exe is the name of the rom, it can be found in football's Spark/SparkW rom thread. Remember, this rom might not have the launage pack you want, but you can use it as a path to installing HSPL, and then a custom rom with the language you want!

First rename rom on sdcard, THEN install goldcard bootloader. It seems that if you don't have the file name ready before installing the bootloader, it doesn't work right. I never had this issue, but I'm also sure I put the image on before I installed the goldcard bootloader to the SD card.
Remember, this image may not have your language pack, but you can install a custom rom after doing this.
So long as the GoldCard screen tells you it is checking the image, it should be okay. Flashing with GoldCard can take 20mins to a half-hour.
Even though I have done GoldCard on SparkW (not Spark like you), i named my image with all capital letters. SPARIMG.NBH is what I would try.
Also, maybe RUU_Spark_Vodafone_SPA_1.10.164.01_Radio_5.51.09.2 9_22.32.50.10U_by_ansar (from that ansar thread someone linked you too earlier) would be a better image to try for the downgrade.
