Hi there I got the Samsung Galaxy s4 after making the jump from the S2 and im really happy with it. There something annoying me though, as a wallpaper junkie. The S4 has a bunch of original HD wallpapers, which are quite frankly beautiful. The great thing about them is they take up the entire screen, they make the upper notification bar see trough which means you get more screen, more color, more happyness.
However there are only a limited amount of build in original wallpapers and for a wallpaper addict like me they start to bore quickly no matter how beautiful they are . The problem however is that if i use another picture from my phone or a hd wallpaper from one of the many apps i have the upper bar becomes black instead of see trough.
So my question basically is, is there a way to make the upper bar see trough for all wallpapers? Or are there additional wallpapers we can download somewhere from samsung that remove the upper bar? Or is there another app for HD wallpapers that does remove the upper black status bar?
Hope anyone could give me an answer to that.
In the latest beta of Nova launcher there is an option to make the status bar transparent.
Can we get a horizontal clock? I can only seem to adjust the AOD clock.
I applied a theme and it was horizontal for a while... a few hours later I look and its back to the vertical one. Anyone else notice this?
Hours and minutes are aligned vertically, if there are notifications.
It seem to be horizontal if you have any notifications. Once those are cleared, it goes back to vertical.
Here is a easy Solution

Takes less than 2 minutes costs nothing, does not revert back after notification or anything like that.
Horizontal clock is an option under AOD display settings. Look for clock style

Go to Settings...Lock screen and security...Information and FaceWidgets...Contact and Information. You can type in something here and it will show up underneath a horizontal clock. If you don't want anything to show up but still want the horizontal clock, just put in one space and no other text.
I've made a theme with horizontal clock on lock screen. This theme used stock icons and a colour is a little bit changed. Change wallpaper and change icons and thats all. But you can create this by yourself by samsung mobile theme editor wish i have later version. So in order to make horizontal clock in this editor you need to use not colour selection on tab lockscreen but images. And upload image of every digit 012345678: and thats all.

This is really the best proposal. I came here to get rid of this ugly clock on lock screen of my S8+. Thank you so much. No theme, nothing. :good:
Edit: does not work. The horizontal clock just showed up because there was a notification.
No dice on Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus for AT&T
Had a horizontal clock working for months using themes, but since the samsung update about a week ago it broke, there really should be a simple was to do this anyway, we shouldn't be looking for work arounds

If I change The background on S8 there isn 't any the the Edge panel is ?
But If I choose one of those who have "infinite background" then there is.
Can I design backgrounds with "infinity background" so I can see background over the entire screen?
And If YES.. How?
S8 has this beautiful Always on Display with clock + background stars. How to get this on S7 edge ?
I installed this S8 AOD apk for S7.

But, this gives only the clock style, but not the background stars.
Any help appreciated.

The only way you can do this is flash a S8 port ROM onto your phone
the stars AOD background you are speaking off is part of a wallpaper theme called "infinity wallpaper" it applies the AOD background, lockscreen live wallpaper and homescreen live wallpaper that you will see on these video's too.
Here it is!
Follow this link and scroll down to "S8.apk" and download it. Then, install the .apk file and reboot your phone. Go to settings and choose the stars you want. And you are done!
Note: This will overwrite your original backgrounds on your Always On Display, but it will apply the stars.

Can somebody please tell me that why is there a lighter shade of wallpaper on home screen? Can I undo it? I tried several launchers but the result is same . My screen is perfectly normal as I can see the original colours at the battom in Photos app.
