been searching for answers whether the bell touch dual can use the bell touch vogue roms?
Currently I have the bell touch and have been flashing my touch with various available roms.
Can we use the same bell vogue roms for the touch dual?
I had a Touch Dual, and tried flashing the OEM HTC Touch GPS ROM, and it didn't work. The ROM upgrade utility said that my device was incompatable. For all intents and purposes, they're the same phone, save for the keypad. But I guess the ROM is different enough to negate being able to cross-flash with the regular Touch. For this reason (and the cheaper data package), I exchanged my Dual for a Touch, and I hardly miss the keypad. Although I did prefer the dark grey/black colour scheme on the Dual.
Thanks MerkurMan....
I guess that it is it in a nutshell
1. no roms availability since most roms are for the touch vogue
2. bell mobility changes your $7 data plan to the $30 if you switch...
not worth the switch for just the keyboard......

use that area of site to get roms for the touch dual aka nike.
There is a reason each phone has its own section, roms are made for each phone. Touch Dual even though it appears the same the software that WE use on the Vogue wont work on it. Very similar options are available to you though so its not a big issue.

Has anyone out there had sucess with installing Blackberry Connect on the US version of the HTC Touch Dual and operating as designed? I had blackberry connect working on my two HTC Touch's but need to have it on the HTC Touch dual since this is my new primary business phone. Can anyone lend some direction on the situation?
Regards,
Jay
bb version
I am trying to get to work with the neon200, which it seem like the same model as the U.S version. What version of bb connect have you try? With the previous HTC touch that you got it to work, was it flash with custom ROM or was it original ROM?

Does it have to be WM6.1? What Rom are you running. I´ve made a custom rom for the Neon, you can try that. I dont have a blackberry account so i really cant try.
I´m trying to port to wm6.1 and i´ve asked if someone would be kind enough to dump a rom of a US Touch Dual but so far no one has been kind enough to do so.

My original HTC Touch was equipped with the orginal ROM and I used the 4.0..97 BB connect. It worked on both of my touch phones but this touch dual is different. I wouldn't mind using another ROM but I do not want to loose my radio version because it is configured for 850 which I need here in the states. My windows mobile is 6.1. I really like this phone but I need BB connect to be operational on the unit otherwise I cannot be efficient with my business.
Below are my device specs:
ROM Version: 2.21.422.04
ROM Date: 05/06/08
Radio Version 1.65.20.19
Protocol: 25.86.40.04w
I couldn't get it to work with the stock Rom on the Touch Dual I bought at Best Buy. I don't know why it works with some phones like the Tilt but not others.
I was able to install it but when I tried to get BB Connect Active Sync to configure my Enterprise server config I got the PIN 0 error.
I remember wasting so much time with either the Wizard or another phone last year and just don't have the time to research further.
Same here. Have had it working on another Touch, as well as other WinMo phones, but don't want to spend a ton of time again to get this working. Why must RIM be such idiots and make it so hard?! Create one client, limit the capability so a RIM hardware device is always better somehow[like 10 email accounts in BIS, versus only 3 on the WinMo client], but don't limit the devices that can use a BBC client! It makes no sense really...
hi guys,
given an HTC touch to me from work in AU. just curious on how do i identify if its a Dual / GSM or other model
just trying to find software updates for this thing (rom & other)
cheers
It's simple
HTC Touch Dual is slider-phone with Hardware keyboard
HTC Touch (GSM) build on TI Omap 850 CPU (200MHz)
HTC Touch (CDMA) build on Qualcomm MSM7200 CPU (400MHz)
cheers for that ..
as my phone slides open, i have a HTC Touch Dual is slider-phone with Hardware keyboard
and from what i have read thus far, there is no updated ROM
oh, now i feel stupid for not actually seeing what it says on the back of the phone
"TOUCH DUAL"
If the phone is through Telstra it is a Neon 200, if it is through Optus it is a Nike Dual I believe (dont quote me on the Optus thing), I have a Telstra Touch Dual (Neon 200).
Edit : Telstra has a 20 key keyboard, and optus have a 16 key keyboard.
Fickle:
Power off you device.
Press and hold "Camera" button and power on device, device will enter Bootloader. And you will see you real device name (Niki or Neon).
After that, you just flash new spl (Isn't same for Niki and Neon)
oh, how cool is that .. thanks for that
NIKI100
SPL-1.16.0000
CPLD-4
fortunately i see no topic in respect to NIKI within these forums
It's a good device
Just everybody waiting for wi-fi/gps/Video accelerator (All 3 features disabled by HTC) and got little nervous
this is my favorite phone thus far .. and yes, WiFi would be great
i did the upgraded rom / W6.1 upgrade to it via instructions from here as well.. now i am more of a happier person
well, after some time, you will create your own ROM
well, it apears that htc took down the link for the rom flash for the touch cdma. anyone here have it or a link to where i can get it? i am going to list my phone on ebay soon and i want to reset it to like-new specs and remove all of my personal touches. thanks!
You my friend have a CDMA HTC Touch which is NOT an Elf, but a Vogue.
Head over to the Vogue forums here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=389
or the forums at ppcgeeks has a nice community as well for the CDMA Touch -> http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=48
Ok ive had the P3050 Vogue 100 touch for a while now.
I bought a used Sprint MP6900SP Vogu100 and kinda working - broken touch screen - everything else seems to work.
But my question is can i flash it with a telus rom?
I bought it so i can mess with the windows without wrecking mine.
Or is there a generic rom?
And another question is that it doesnt seem to be able to have a sim card put in, does this mean its locked to Sprint?
CDMA phones are locked to the provider, there is no way around it as the carriers register the Serial numbers and if it isn't in their system they won't add it for you.
As for roms, just grab the telus rom from the htc website, otherwise check the upgrades forum.
Should have done your homework re: switching it onto Telus.
Thanx for the info, tried searching "switching it onto Telus" but could not find anything.
I also bought a new touch screen and its not as clear as the original, do you know if it will clear up or will it stay that way?
And I put my touch screen on the Sprint and everything works on it but the Sprint will not accept anything bigger that a 512 mb microsd card the 1 gb card from my telus doesnt work in the Sprint either but worked in the Telus, is there a problem with the Sprint phones (and i flashed the latest Sprint rom on it)?
I bought a 8 gb microsd for my Telus and works fine.
Thanx D
Ok i think I fixed the microsd problem. - posted a new thread for that.
And i tried searching for fuzzy touch screen and cloudy digitizer and no luck.
Been running ARHD ROM since forever but the DHD is two years old now and I'm getting bored, I want something new to play with, seems that the proper phone version of Ubuntu wont be coming to the DHD so, what Jelly ROM's are out there that are fully working, either with or without Sense.
I'd prefer Sense but an older version as I dont like the fact that on the newer versions your bottom buttons are the same on the home screen as they are on the lock screen, I for one have different requirements from the phone if its locked compared to if its unlocked so want different buttons depending on mode.
Any suggestions anyone?
Ok, well cf SR12 is off the cards.
Its not picking up my network properly, thinks I'm on o2 where I'm on GiffGaff who are a virtual provider that use o2's network..

Trig0r, roms are subjective. Try them all and find what is best for you. What is good for you can not be for someone else....

As stated. It is difficult to answer these questions. A rom will work differently for each user using it. Best to try the roms yourself and see how you get on.
