How to send a Business Card through SMS???? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi All
I am trying to find a way of sending a Business Card via SMS like all the good old Nokia's and other mobile phones use to do it... I have seen I can do it through Bluetooth or IR but can't find out to do it through SMS?? any ideas?
A Business Card is just a way of sending one of your contacts to another phone, if you beem (Bluetooth or IR) a contact to another phone you will see it says Business Card recived... Want to do the same thing but with SMS (other phones can do this)..
Many thanks...

goto new message, select menu and insert>and select "send vContact", also which version of WM are u running ?

Hi,
you cant send nor receive Business Cards withot a program like "Kai's vCard Manager" or "µ-SMS".
vCard link: http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=10040
µ-SMS: http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=3164
I'm using vCard and working great, just remember to install it in the default
place not storage card, other wise u will get error message when soft reset.
regards,
ksasat
Thanks, looks fine.

Sending vCard as SMS instead of MMS?

Is there any solution for sending vCard or Nokia style contact information/business card via SMS?
Standard solution creates MMS message which delivers a card correctly to any Nokia phone, but as MMS which is more expensive than SMS.
Any ideas, anyone?

I would be interested in this aswell. I think a simpel app could be writen to do this. I cant imagin it being much more than text formating.

You could use O2 Sms plus to do that but the program stricly for sending vcard unless you install the o2 rom. I will try to upload it tonight.
You could try this small application. It works fine for me but to be able to send Vcard, you have to add the +country code in front of the received mobile phone number and also you can only send to contacts that have been saved as "mobile phone".
Try this O2 Sms plus
Thank you
Looks like it works, thank you.

how do you send contact details in sms

Unless I've missed something...
I cannot find a way to forward a phone number to someone else via a sms or in the form of a business card.
Even my old and battered Nokia 6230 work phone can do that via sms..
The Orange M3100 (TyTN) is supposed to be a business user type phone. This feature is something I make use of and don't seem to be able to perform with the M3100..
I've tried to copy the number and paste it with no luck. Is there a way to do it ???
Here's hoping

You can't, and it's Microsoft fault. In fact, with WM5 there are many things can't be done that are usual on regular or Symbian-based phones. E.g. I was shocked that I can't even read SMSes stored on my SIM card!
The rumor is that this feature should appear in AKU3.0.

"send contact by message"

Quick clarification please.
I have been used to sending contact details as an SMS message.
When I click send contact by message I get the option to send as SMS or MMS.
I have tried sending as SMS but receivers either say they get nothing or else an empty vcard.
I am resigned to having to send any contacts as an MMS attachment?
Having played with this extensively this morning I find that sending a contact via SMS either:
-nothing
-blank email
-email with vcard containing my details arrives
Need to send contacts via MMS - this way it sends a vcard which can be imported by the recipient
Hmm... I at least have the same problem but it's on both SMS and MMS. Recognizes the vCard, but unable to open it.
I still occaisionally get problems.
Send a number to a colleague last week by MMS and they couldn't open it. I tried opening my own attachment and it tried opening it as a video!
It seems to be working if I'm sending it to myself, no difference if SMS or MMS. The problem is that I don't have much use of sending contact information to myself.
Those I have been sending vCards to use Nokia phones.

My Nokia never understood my Sony phone either (neither my X1 nor the non-Winmo prior)
Yep, but at least sending vCards to Nokia phones worked with my TYTNII without problems!
Maybe I have to test and try to send vCards HD2 -> TYTNII later today.
Working
Hi guys,
just tried it and for me its working fine.I sent it from my HD2 Leo to my work phone Nokia.
Only problem what I can see is I select only one phone number and nothing else but received also extra information like birthday,anniversary,..
good evening chaps
this may be worth looking at as it solved my problem of sending multiple contacts in one go.
vCard Expert from windows phone marketplace let me save my contacts into a file that i sent as an email attachment. Also tried vCard manager which didn't work very well.
any solution yet? phones from 10 years ago can do this easily.
i don't know the matter with sending 'phone' contacts, but you can send the numbers stored on your sim card by SMS.. the recepient will get the sms saying that a contact no. has been sent (no phone number is displayed), but when the recipient presses the accept button, the contact no. gets saved into the list of the recipient's contacts.
but then you know, sim contacts have only the phone no, cant store much detail on sim.

No, at least I haven't got any solution for the problem.
In my opinion it should be simple feature that should be working all around, but apparently not...
