As this has been asked and answered many, many, many times before, I guesstimate 98% of the visitors here know that it isn't possible.. yet.
Anyway, do you know how to search, read and learn before starting new threads? This might be a good time and place to start, good luck
I already answered that in this thread:

This one is custom, isn't it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421519
Look at the background other than Today screen.
That is the bottom part I was reffering to, it is created by only one tile that has been repeated over the surface. So an image is not possible other patterns are doable
Ok.. not exactly what everybody is looking for but at least a change from the background bricks
This may not work on all TF3D's, and won't work on TouchPro
If it doesent work on your phone, I can not make it work!
4a087e41_manila - Red.zip and 2bd5bb26_manila is the only one u can change in Manila Editor...
EDIT: I forgot to say that the 'Menu slider' might shift a little to the left.. It's easily fixed with Manila Editor...
Sprint Background Image/Colour

You can change the background by copying a different 4a087e41_manila to windows...
==>4a087e41_manila - 33_manila.zip
This one u can change to any colour you want.. just edit in Manila Editor
==>4a087e41_manila - Red.zip
NEW
This one u can have gradient colour to any colours you want.. just edit '2bd5bb26_manila' in Manila Editor

No, I haven't
33_manila is from an old TF3D version...
the only way to edit the un-editable manila image files is to make them 4x4 in dimension, then u can at least change the colour or make them transparent
That's what I did to the red one...
The same goes for the Sprint Clock background...
Thanks for the info. I did a little experimenting and came up with these. I'm going to try some different patterns/colors and see what happens.

Search for 'Theme Generator for Windows CE' on google
I use it a lot and does good job
I downloaded it and am trying to learn it as we speak. I have a theme right now that I really like I just want to get rid of some of the greys to add a bit of color to it. I gotta figure out which fields adjust which colors. Since it is for WM5 I'm having a hard time figuring out what goes where, but I think I might get it eventually.
Also, is there a WM6 theme database anywhere?
Thanks!

It's a nice program but, the UI is all messed up. They have icons everywhere. Basically trial and error method to learn.
Since I was building a Theme Application I had to learn it quick. Other than that I do not have much experience with themes!
I have no idea about the theme database. that would be great!.
If you go to the link at my signature... rk-TSR you will find the theme I built.
Cool let me go check it out.
Yeah, the theme generator is really haphazard and disorganized. I'm not real thrilled with the GUI, but hey, it's better than nothing, and it is free, so far be it for me to complain!
I noticed, for no reason, all of a sudden, when I apply a new theme, I can't click anywhere on the top of my screen. I cannot X out, get into the Start menu or anything. I have to softboot my phone. I haven't changed anything, it just started happening. So, every time I try a new theme, I gotta softboot.

I don't remember the steps involved, But since you say 'Apply the theme' are you applying the theme directly from the 'Theme Gen App' ? if so try saving it as tsk file first and transferring it over to device and apply the theme.
Sorry, I should have been more clear.
I change the theme within WM6. I go to settings > today > select a theme then click OK at the top.
Once i do this I cannot access the top bar, regardless of the orientation. I can't close by hitting the X, or open the start, or anything that is at the top, even in landscape.

Ok, I just changed my myFaves settings, and it caused the same problem.

dammit
I don't wanna dump all my settings and start over again.
Hmm thats strange,
Are these themes you just created on the Theme generator?
Probably something is wrong with your method.
Can you try one of my themes on your device and see still you get the same problem(since they are also created with the same program)
My device is 'Hermes' with WM6
I tried a theme that I modified in the theme generator when it happened. I bet I messed something up. blargh!
I'll give yours a try in the morning.
I'm most likely going to be clearing the device and letting it reinstall the OS, so it won't be a problem anymore. I just gotta get my outlook contacts saved.

Here, assuming that your phone is qvga since I didn't notice you posting which phone you have, download this theme that I made in ThemeGenCE. If you still have the same problem after installing it then it's most likely something other than your theme causing the problem. If it doesn't cause the problem then let me know and maybe I can help you figure out what you're doing wrong. I've made hundreds of themes in ThemeGenCE so I know how to use it pretty well.
To create your own theme. heres a start!

Hehe, yeah, dutch it is.
The problem is that the normal download uses a compression method to decrease the file size up to 90% (see cab size difference), which makes manila faster. Thing is, manila needs to be patched for it to work. Look up Chainfire's Compression for more information.

It should work with a branded ROM as well, unless completely new manila files have been added (which I think is unlikely).
I've just tried it on my Vodafone branded Pro2, and all works well except when you stop on any tab, the background goes black so you can't see anything much.
The transitions between tabs is so great - I hope this can be made to work fully. Great work, thanks!

Do I understand correctly that the background (as in the screenshots) only shows while scrolling, but not while actually inside a tab?
I'll relay this information to Rotastrain (the creator of the panoramic background mode9 file) so it can be looked into.

I have got a HTC one... so can't tell how it works on the branded one. I had to use the compability cab anyway.
on my Voda branded one the compatibility cab works fine apart from some of the fonts stay black. The calendar tab is particularly bad and a white font & lines would have been better.
Great theme tho!

Yeah, that's what I've been experiencing. It seems it's the same issue Stunno is having, as with a light background (which I believe it's supposed to be) the black fonts would be suitable.
Will be fantastic to have this to replace the Vodafone theme once it's fully functional, thanks again!
I should clarify my post as it was done in a rush this morning.
The theme is FULLY functional. The background scrolls beautifully from tab to tab (OK there is a slight glitch in that there is a thin black line down the settings tab about 3/4 of the way across and a light one half way across the calendar tab)
My problem is the font colour in some of the tabs. Which is more of a layout problem than a theme problem. In particular
The People tab perfect apart from the phone number is in black over a dark part og the background - but no biggy because who needs this anyway I've only included for completeness
The Calendar tab has black text and lines on a predominantly dark background
The Music tab ditto
the Internet tab ditto
Having said all of that, and I hope it didn't come across as whinging because it wasn't meant to, I am keeping it on as it is a HUGE improvement on the VF one!

Yes, CFC compressed files work better. The compatibility pack is not compressed, like TF3D is normally. So, for a performance increase, I recommend patching your manila, using CFC GUI 0.55.

Alright. I'm willing to improve based on feedback. I do however, need screenshots for clarification. The reason is that - although you did a very good attempt at clarifying - I can still interpret your problems in differing ways.
So, please post some screenshots and I'll look into it.
The vertical lines in the background are a TF3D problem, we can't get rid of it - yet. (TF3D doesn't like sticking pictures to eachother(
I've attached screenshots of what I'm experiencing.
Screenshot 1: What I have when TF3D first loads - perfect!
Screenshot 2: Once I touch the screen however, the background goes black
Screenshot 3: When choosing between tabs, the background goes to the photo again
Screenshot 4: Then when I stop on a tab, the background goes black again - very nice!
Thanks so much - this will be so good compared to the default Vodafone theme!

I understand that it might seem intimidating if you're new to WM and HTC. I can also understand that you'd love to have all the best fixes and stuff. Do take into account though, that it takes some time and a lot of reading to really get a grasp of how everything works and is integrated.
Patching manila, however, is - luckily for you - made simple by Chainfire. Read his thread here.

Hi VETTE, sorry for the late answer...
I'll provide the clock for sure and try to explain for you, it's no big deal.
First I gathered the two cabs, then extract them with WinCE cab manager and then used manila editor to see wich files belonged to wich part of the clock.
So I wanted the blue background (there is a file just for that) and all the rest, black number background and everything else, from the green one. I just copied the files from the green clock and the file for the blue background to windows directory and it's done.
Never forget to disable HTC Sense before doing anything, also make sure the attribute files checked in the properties are "archive", "read only" and "system" before copying them to windows dir. And last but the most important, make backups of the files, we never know what can go wrong.
Cheers.

To be clear...are you talkign about the color of the clock tiles themselves, directly behind the letters? Or the background (wallpaper) on the home tab?
At first I thought you meant the border around the bottom half of the clock, where the weather shows up...but you shouldn't have that on a 6.1 ROM..
the two tone gray background of the clock itself, if it is at all possible without changing the clock numbers. I can swipe my finger "up" and then the numbers on the clock become smaller and the background goes away....thats what im after. and thanks for not railing on me, I may have alot of posts but 97% or more are questions lol but im getting better.

No problem What you're talking about is the clock tiles, and they are certainly replacable with custom ones. The trick is determining exactly what version of TF3D or Sense you have, you'll have to know that to know which custom clocks to look for and download.
Do you have an "About" entry on the "settings" tab? If so it'll tell you what version you have. If you don't see that there, you can just look it up in the registry (I'll show you where)...do you have a regedit app? (Total Commander, PHM_regedit, etc)

I dug around in some clock files and found this for you to try, there is no guarantee that it will work as i cant test it for you, but i looked at in with CFC gui and it looks promising!
It might be a good idea to back up the same file in your rom,
Untick manila in "home settings" then copy the file using TC or something
retick manila and it should show.
I hope it works for you

Ok yeah I have the same version as Tregrad (TF3D 2.1), and that manila file worked just fine on mine when I tested it...it makes the clock tiles 100% transparent.
However, getting that manila file into the right place on your phone takes a little doing...do you (Tregrad) know how to copy files into and out of your phone's /windows directory?
Maybe someone would be willing to cab that up for you to make it easier...but if not, we can show you how to get it on there and working.

You tested and it works ok? I can cab it up later ( i'm not on pc right now), where does it want to be? just straight into Windows folder? I would have cab'd it staight away but thought someone had better test it first!
so should i wait for the cab or what? or can i just drop the file in the windows directory? and thanks again for your help fellas.

if you can just drop in the windows folder, there's no real need for a cab just makes it more convenient is all! go ahead and try it out i'm dying to know if it works! See if you can find the matching file first and back it up though...I would
ok will give it a shot right now
no change at all hmmm copied orig file and put it in a folder on my pc and "replaced" existing file with the new one and rebooted but nothing happened.

Start...settings...today..items... will get you there
dont even have an option to untick manilla
Ok heres the Cab, sorry for the delay!!
there must be a tick box in "Items" Under today settings, and it will be Manila or TF3d or something HTC related! its been so long since i used this ROm i can't remember
So untick whatever it is and then install the cab then retick and it should have overwritten....Good Luck
ok tf3d is ticked, I am going to try the file thing first then if that doesnt work then i will try the cab, thanks.
nope, none of it worked. unticked, ran cab, wanted to restart - let it do so, restarted then re-ticked tf3d and nothing happened?
should i delete the existing file? if it isnt there then it wont want to run it right and since i just want it gone it wouldnt hurt right?
I have to go for now be back in a few hours. thanks again for all your efforts os!
