Just received my 16GB MicroSD Card - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Accessories

I just received my 16GB MicroSd Card from ordered from here:
http://www.bmcdigital.co.uk/catalog/browse/microsd-16gb
It works great, I now have over 12gb of music on it plus TT7 and other misc apps.
Awesome!

But why do you need to create new thread since we have this just couple threads down here?

It is a class 2 card. The web site has a pic of class 4. Was a little disappointed, however it is fast enough for all my needs. I use it mainly for TT7 and an iPod replacement. So far no issues with speed.

!?!?!?

ROM flashing with Sandisk SD Cards

I've read stories about Sandisk SD cards being destroyed by the ROM flashing process.
Does this happen with all Sandisk SD cards or only some?
If some, which ones?

SD-which one?

Morning all,
Which SD card I should buy? So many on the market.. At this moment I'm interested in 1gb - but..
many different speeds, many different brands...
And prices.
Oh, and thos new SD ULTRA II- Faster, better?
I'm so confused- please, tell me!
So, guys: WHICH ONE SD CARD for my EXEC should I buy?
Thank you for any recomendations!
Cheers!
No one can point me to the right direction?
I don't mind spending a little bit more for better-faster product BUT I don't want to buy something which my EXEC wan't use correctly
Thanks in advance
Cheers!
Chris
this is kinda related to another post i replied to.
when i was using a 512 sandisk; the storage indicator said i had 480mb-plus free space...but when i loaded files i found out i could only put in up to 380-plusmb. the same happened to a bud's card; he was using kingston and same problems were there.
i now use 1gig toshiba and panasonic cards; i can store files up to 980-plus. no problems since then...

One more question- are they fast? Can you watch movies? Are they draining battery quickly?
I'd like to buy FAST SD card, best on the market (top shelve) which also wan't drain my bat. too quicly (as I'm frequent flayer)...
Thanks!
Chris
benchsmarks i've seen show that no pda's SD interface can keep up with the fastest card in these cases having a faster card only help when one use it in an usb2 sdcard reader
pocketmechanics have both benchmark tools and other results you can compare yours with
All SD cards should use about the same battery power, if they vary at all it won't be noticible in the real world.
Personally I'd go for storage over speed, I have an ADATA 2GB 150X card that cost £68.50 delivered (eBay) - this is cheaper than a lot of 1GB cards and fast enough to watch even DVD VOB files (tested on my PC)
Good price for 2GB.
Thank you.
I'm going to ebay right now...
Cheers!

Interesting to know is that I did a small and unprofessionel test with Windows Media player and a 60 MB video file on my Jasjar.
Both with the relatively slow 2 GB sandisk and with the Superfast Extrem III 1 GB sandisk the viode has hickups. So I have the impression that a faster SD card won't help you.
Good luck.

I'm using a ByteStor 1GB card with no problems. I've got nothing to compare the speed with, though, and I never watch films on my Exec.

Nop mate
I'm a frequent flyer on short distances (like 1,5-2 hours) so ALMOST 10kg with my 15.4" with AMD64 laptop just to watch one part of A-TEAM or Friends seems to be stuipid idea. And 'coz I'm rather poor person I'm flying in eco class so my laptop is just TOO BIG for this tiny space beetwen seats (tested on RyanAir (IMHO worst line ever), WizzAir, EasyJet, Lot, Eurolot (hmm, ATR=no free space beetwen seats), FlyBe, BA, and my favorite airline LUFTHANSA - always same thing, my laptop is too big).
I've found that EXEC is ALMOST perfect replacment fo my laptop in this matter! Is slow, is wth windows- but I can kill some time on the airplain plaing games OR watch movies.
Hmm, and ofcourse I can put some MP3 on it
Regards!

I'd certainly use my Exec for video & movies if I found a reliable way of encoding films for the machine. Would be perfect for my bored wife on long car journeys...

You can try to import directly from www.tecic.com.tw/English/Products.html - contact Scott. They offered me the card for 155$ + 20 $ post & packaging.
Later they told me to contact a meanwhile delivering german trader: www.handit.de. Since this one is situated in my hometown Berlin I bought it from there for 209 € (and without any pain due to possible tax issues)
I bought a high speed 1GB from www.mobymemory.com and find it great.

it says the card is a 120x and it show a photo of the memory speed test but when i tested the card it was just a standerd speed of any sd mini thats why i asked you to do the test yourself to make sure what they say its true

You need to patch it. Read this post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344338&highlight=HCSD
i'm fairly sure that I read that anything above 2.14 would work. I could be wrong tho, just checking.
thanks for the link though.

I got it on Ebay. Just make sure it is SanDisk, and is Micro SDHC. I got mine for about 65 bucks, delivered. I needed to upgrade since TomTom6 uses pretty much my whole 2Gig card.

Cannot see 2gb microsd after installing HCSD .cab
Is this a function of the cab that it will only be compatible with the HCSD after install? I put this cab on the phone and after reboot it wouldn't see anything but the 8GB. Does 2.2. have the ability to see 2GB and 8GB? Workarounds?
