Looking for a new VGA dialing skin - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

I have found a lot of dialer skin out there to copy the Diamond dialer skin, some looks even better, but none directly for the diamond...
Any links for me ?

yeah.
one good link is the search text box
but here you are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429311

Well they do seem to be thin on the ground, I tried that one and it is buggy on the diamond, there is a familiar looking one in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403766 but despite what it is, it uses about half the memory of the standard dialler, a lot more than the buggy one in the previous post's link. I am trying it at the moment because I just hate the wm6 dialler, that is one ugly dialler! Anyone got a nice looking small footprint one?
Edit just noticed that I have got slightly different connection icons in my top bar with this dialler.

i cannot see any difference between your dialer and the original diamond dialer.
or do i get s.th wrong?

http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-idialer.html noticed this one earlier today, I haven't tried it out, not even sure it's not the same one mentioned earlier, as for the manilla dialer mentioned above, as I said already it does look rather familiar but apparently uses a lot less memory than the diamond standard htc dialer.

A carbon looking dailer

Paulya Phone Skins and HTC Universal
I have tried the skins from paulya.com on a Universal with ROM as below.
They do NOT work. I have attempted to modify the graphics of Pauly's very nice skins for my own use, this is possible and you can make the appearance on the screen appear normal at the corrected pixels per inch size, however, the underlying .dll that controls the layout of the touch screen that comes bundled does not ammend the touch responses correctly (as an example: in portrait mode the graphics for SPEED DIAL, HISTORY and TALK remain horiozontal above the number pad, whereas the .dll expects to find them in a vertical list to the right of the dialpad. If you have the time and the skills there are instructions on several forums (including this one) for editing the relevant dynamic link libraries.
The only skin I have found so far that works (as downloaded, out of the box, so to speak) on this device with its current ROM is O2's XDA Exec skin (or one made for it by a third party) which is attached to this post. This skin however consumes 2mb of storage for a minor change in appearance (transparent in place of solid graphics). I have deleted it.
Incidentally I have paulya's Vista phone skin on my HTC Himalaya. It is beautiful graphic work and makes the device very usable with one hand no pointer required. Thank you very much for all your hard work.
CORRECTION:
Further effort shows that the underlying .dll bundled with paulya's eten skins does amend the touchpad on the screen correctly. (i.e. you get the result you would expect by tapping on the screen, but the graphics will not display correctly even when they are resized to 192 pixels per inch. I would imagine there is only a small effort required to get from here to something that works but I do not know how to do that.

Hey i didnt get it right... the vista skin does it work on exec.... i suppose not.... please can u upload any working skin for exec.. i have been looking for the same for quite some time but the search is futile.... else upload the 2 mb skin u mentioned about... i m ready to sacrifice 2 mb for a good looking dial pad skin... thanx
PaulyA.com is no longer. For those of you who are still interested I have moved all my projects to JPL4Designs.com. The old site got robbed while I slept on it.. Mods, if you please update my links on the forums I would greatly appreciate it. Google is picking them off XDA-Dev and others rating the old site high. Thanks so much.

TOUCH UI

has anyone started work on getting the new HTC touch UI onto othere devices?
Hope so... I also want it...
yes I'm waiting too.
TouchFLO - if we can take this option to our model, that's cool.
and I thought someboy will sone this job vry soon.
Simple example
I've made a simple first version of the HCT Touch UI, based on one or two pictures I saw on the internet.
I made it in Wisbar Advance Desktop, just a fix docking background for the color and lines and then placed 6 few icons on it...
It is a start. Also a Comm Manager has been done in this format.
It can be downloaded elsewhere if you google or you can find it in the WM6-Hermes forum.
Hi!
Here you can see some interesting videos of the gui, quite interesting: http://www.theunwired.net/index.php?itemid=3899
Is there any shipped devices with this functionality on the market yet?
Regards,
PK
there is a software called SPB mobile shell which is almost similar to this

there's lots of software which can do this (like WAD). but the looks we have to make ourselves. problem is there are not that much pictures yet of the HTC Touch...
I'd love to have Touch UI working on my Artemis, and then probably on future HTC devices as well.

Help with Dialpad for Torx iphone theme

Torx's iphone theme is excellent on my Touch (Vogue) except for the dialer. I tried switching from Narg to the other iphone-ish dialpads but they all lock up my Touch when switching from Keypad to Status. I also tried Polen's Vista Dialer but it does not work correctly with your theme. The Stock dialpad is miscolored and the Back button is invisible...aaargh! THERE MUST BE A DIALER THAT WONT LOCK UP MY TOUCH!!!!
Torx has responded:
if someone can get me an official cab of a wm6 dialpad that works flawlessly as far as smartdial and all that jazz..
i can take it all apart and redesign the graphics myself and not have to worry about tinkering the real innards to get features working because thats well out of my scope.
problem is, there so many 3rd party dialers out there and i have no clue which generalized dialpad i can use to base the design off of.. get what im saying?
so it has to be a dialpad .cab that isnt the original wm6 dialpad, but one that EVERYONE can use no matter what phone or brand, cdma or gsm.. etc etc..
Torx has done a tremendous job, and please, Anyone help with this last piece!!
come on guys! someone has to have an official cab...please
most dialpads ive tried so far, the smartdialing doesnt work.

you might want to ask one of the cooks... they might be able to extract the dialpad out from a rom... i think dutty or alex in the kaiser forums might know how to do this. (not trying to call anyone out lol) i just think that it would be awesome if we could get a really cool dialer with all the functions... (including OPTIONAL video) and transparent buttons so that the background can be chosen by the user... its not impossible im sure
Like I said before:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321605
The iphone version of DuronMarcel works (smartdial).
If it had the graphics of the other version (narg), it would be perfect.
(sorry my bad english)
can you place the cab for DuronMarcel's? does it work with the Vogue? i tried one before that locked up my Vogue...
I tried the duron marcel dial pad with BA. it doesnt work...
I don't think there is a dialpad can work perfectly with both GSM and CDMA without any loss of functionality.
Most "dialers" that work with cdma phones i have seen are really just skins rather than a true new dialer. Your best bet for creating a iPhone "dialer" for htc cdma phones would be a dialer skin with the format similar to this skin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315685
with the digits spanning the width of the screen and two additional digits on top of the right row.
Of course, I really hope I am wrong, because this arrangement doesn't allow much flexibility.
anyone, please post the official cab for Torx to work on....thanksa!

320x320 Love (via RealVGA)

I just posted a blog entry about my experience with RealVGA and 320x320 mode on the Treo Pro. Check it out at: http://nebowiki.blogspot.com/2008/11/treo-pro-320x320-love.html
I am curious about the experience of others?
Screenshots? Anyone?
I will try and put some screenshots together tomorrow. I have been running RealVGA at 96dpi for nearly a month now and have *never* switched back to 128dpi since installing it. The only faults I notice are the lack of icons for SMS messages in the threaded view and the compacted battery icon - neither of which bother me significantly. frankly, I think the rom should run at this reolution as stock - and as soon as we can cook up a rom I will strip out of it all the 128dpi stuff!
John
I'm running it for weeks now, really like it. The fonts may be too small for some, but I certainly appreciate it.
A few weeks on RealVGA for me too. Never need to change from 96dpi back to 128dpi. In fact 96dpi full 320x320 allows me to easily run apps that have problem with 240x240 mode.
Real VGA here as well. The Best. I wont go back.
Could anyone post any piccys of their pros running the 96dpi?
Thanks
Some screenshots
Hi folks,
A couple of screenshots of 96dpi on a Treo Pro just to show you what it looks like. If anyone wants a particular view showing, just ask.
John
Thanks John
I guess i have to be a problem child. its not working so well for me. a lot of things are messed up, images, background, phone dialer, etc. not so great on my end.

Using 96dpi, it's needed to get Olivetree's Biblereader to display icons on the taskbars correctly, along with some of the fonts.
Also needed @ 96dpi for Mobile Shell 2.1 or 2.11 to use the Omnia or Experia themes (found in the square screen themes thread at ppcgeeks.com). They go offscreen otherwise.
Yes, fonts in some places begin to become uncomfortably small. But, in most instances, it's not a problem. However button placement display gets off center with comm manager, especially the data connection on/off setting.
You can of course slide the font size a notch up, that will make most text a bit larger while keeping the 320 resolution. Not perfect, but perhaps for some a better compromise?

I've been running the RealVGa at 96dpi for a week. I've noticed that the icon for the threaded sms is missing. I can only see a "x" at the icon location. Is anyone able to share some view how i can change the icon back to normal?
Also another thing that i notice for is the view of the dialer is a bit shorter than the screen. Therefore, you can see a line of the background when you on the dialer.
Another weird things that i notice when running RealVga is that, when u dialed an unknown number, after the call, a notice will pop up and ask you whether you want to save the no. You will NOT be able to save the no. from there. Have tried that many times and gave up
Have hard reset and use back the original config. Evertthing went back normal. But just TOO BIG. I just wish that the original config will come with an option for us to choose between 128 and 96 dpi. .... 96 dpi still the best view for my treo pro
I use RealVGA with lot of pleasure on my Treo Pro, here
For now, i would like only replace the icon in the threaded sms, like i did for the battery icon. Maybe in the windows folder ...

I guess not but i'm not a specialist. All my tips came from xda
keyboard missing with 96 dpi

Works fine on my Pro, except it's very small & my eyes aren't that young, anymore. Because of that, I installed CMKeyboard & a couple of htctoucher's skins from right here on xda.
If you're having issues with RealVGA, are you using the latest version by Ebag333? It can be found here: http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=170002 on TreoCentral. If you're using an earlier version, change to 128dpi before doing anything else, so that you're at "normal" resolution. The newer version uses Mortscript & it's suggested to install after a hard reset.

I'll have to look at Resco Keyboard. I like other products by them (file manager & registry tool).
AFAIK, some of the versions between 2.1 & 2.14 are OK with 96dpi.

Phone Dialer Request! (already made sketch)

I have looked all around for a good dialer to work with my Sprint HTC Diamond. I found 1 or 2 but they were both dark themed. The rest I found just would not work for my Diamond. So now I have made a ruff sketch of a dialer that I would so much want. (picture below) I would very much like it if someone could make a dialer that would acually work with my Sprint HTC Diamond. (the ones before showed a tiny background and would only sum what work) Over all I think that if someone could make a dialer just like the iPhone's allot of people would use it.
Thanks in Advance!
