How's it hanging xda? So every now and then I check to see if a new version of GMM is available so I can try to post it here first for those of you who gotta have the highest version number or cook it in roms. Not much of a hacking development, just posting for your convenience; so here's a fresh one, version 3.2.1.
Here's a vague changelog of 3.2.* but I think the only noticeable difference between this and 3.2.0 is a better layering manager. And of course the version number, they improved that a notch.

Yeah, if you're referring to Latitude.
Another thing it does that I don't remember 3.2.0 doing (but I could be wrong, maybe it had this) is give traffic for major avenues and cross streets in my city at least. Before it just gave the FDR, the West Side Highway and the bridges and tunnels whereas now you can see what's doing on Broadway, Park Avenue, 57th Street, Malcolm X Boulevard -- not all but most major arteries (I'm in NYC, btw). Very nice. Here, look:

It might do that in other cities too, fiddle with it.
I just flashed TPC which, though otherwise badass, included some Bing application. I begrudgingly tested its maps thing. It's sad and irritating that Microsoft is trying really hard to play copycat (but sucking at it) with Google. Man I hate that company but I've got to admit some of those Bing ads are witty.
Which reminds me, my mom's Linux laptop just arrived, gotta head over and install KDE for her. She's 65, she can barely use the television remote but loves Linux and I love that I don't get nearly as many calls for help as I did when she was using MS. I'll use GMM to see how much crosstown traffic I'm looking at.
Just put all my IRA money into Google, parenthetically.

i don't remember it giving me street traffic in nyc, but it does now

Is there a package of this? I know Google maps is a hard one to convert because there are extra settings that change after it is installed. I don't know if this version is like that or not. I think it requires B-Compare to see all the changes before and after install.
Just wondering.

Digitalcompass from new NRGYZ "leo" ROM

Hi everybody!
Does anyone sucessfully run DigitalCompass from the new NRGY "leo" ROM??? When I click on button "Set Destination", I have the following message like "The file 'GoogleMaps' cannot be openned. Either it is not signed with atrusted certification..." So what to do to fix this problem????

So the compass in Touch HD only gives you digital coordinates.
There is no visual compass like on Android-devices and Iphone 3GS, right?

I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding your discussion - but since when does the HD have a compass??? AFAIK it doesn't!

Exactly, thats why im wonderring how this is supposed to work?
My GPS connects and i get coordinates, thats it.
I guess thats all we can expect from our Touch HD.

rumours says ... HD hardware provides a hidden compass feature.... (like TMC or graphic improve)
it needs only software (or software programmer) to work ....
But the compass software unfortunately delivers the same error to me as the topics thread says....

Well it kind of works for me, when i get a GPS-signal in Google Maps I get coordinates in the compass-software aswell. But thats it.

Our HD doesn't have build inside digital compass so unlike iPhone 3GS we cannot use it inside building instantly, must have GPS reception with coordinate. New HTC Tattoo has it, you can see it in its specification, and maybe HTC Leo will have it as well.

I have yet to get the compass turning, so it's almost useless for now. If you have GPS software, it will give you both the coordinates and direction of North.
I guess it's just a cool gimmick in the end.

like many GPS programs that are available for WM, most have a compass componenet to them a personal fave of mine is efficasoft GPS, though it will only register once your movement and direction has been determined via GPS coordinates, So unless you have like someone else said the new Iphone or some others maybe have a proper digital compass then you should get a stationary reading ?, anyway.... I think thats right....?, feel free to corect me....

Install GoogleMaps again.. trust me ;-) and about the compass..it works when you are in the move only ... so it's kinda unuseable - compass toy

you have to make sure you install, google maps to your main memory not your storage card. Then it works, but once you try to quit it causes slow down and problems until you soft reset.

The HD does not have a digital compass in it like some other phones. You can run a GPS compass on it, however.
A GPS compass can tell you which direction you are moving but it cannot tell you which direction you are pointing.

US HD2 missing 'Set Destination' feature

Has anyone else noticed this? The built-in compass app is supposed to have a 'Set Destination' feature that lets you pick a destination from Google Maps and it will show a dot that you can use to navigate to that. I have a TMO US HD2 and there is no 'Set Destination' button at all. I checked the manual for the US HD2 and even that mentions this feature. What's going on?

Thanks for the quick reply Sam. I'll try that cab. I am curious though. It seem the cab was created to restore the compass to a stock one after flashing removed these features.
I just have the Stock TMO US Rom that the phone came with. I haven't flashed it or anything. Wonder if TMO removed this feature. Although I can't imagine why.

Did that .cab work?
I am using the stock T-mobile USA HD2 .rom also.
The version on the T-Mobile USA HD2 .rom is:
Digital compass for Pocket PC Version 1.0 (Build 1922.1511)
In the T-Mobile USA HD2 Manual, it shows this picture. I would like mine to be this way too.( #2 GPS Coordinates & #4 Destination Readout)

I can't even get my compass to work always says magnetic interference.

Yes, I installed the cab and it works. I have the 'Set Destination' button now. But once I pick a location, the dot doesn't stay in one place. It's jerky. Not sure if that was because I was driving though.

It has instructions on the screen for that. Move away from a computer or big TV or something like that and move the phone in a figure 8 like it shows. Usually does the trick for me even if I don't move the phone away from anything.

when doing that figure 8 thing, it works better and faster if you do vertical as well as horizontal movements.

I've tried everything, never works.

Where is the cab file at?
I feel retarded but I don't see where the .cab file is so I can download, when I go to those links sam left it only has info on how to install new rom. Any help would be great, thanks!

installed the file in my sd card and for some reason could not work so I had to install it in the phone mem. and now works fine , only thing though is that now I have 2 compass the o.g. and yours, thanks anyway you guys are Bad m..... top of the line

Garmin Mobile XT - Auto Rotate & New Icon (G-Sensor Whitelist Cab)

Some of you may have Garmin Mobile XT installed on your Windows Mobile Phone. I created this cab which includes all the original TMOUS HD2 Whitelist registry entries and also the entries for Garmin Mobile XT to auto rotate. This works a lot better than installing another application on your phone.
For the New Garmin Icon:
Copy the picture to the Device Windows directory
And manually add the "Icon" key to the registry file:

I'm running the latest Garmin Maps also. Auto rotate works great, if only I can get the navigation page to go up a few milimeters. Oh well its no big deal. Just good to have Garmin in landscape mode without having to install additional apps.

It does it on its own, no need to launch it. You do know that it doesn't install garmin xt? It just allows the program to flip to landscape mode.

Are you serious. Surely it cannot be that easy, I'll admit I was new to cellphones at somepoint but that was when T-Mobile just came out and there name was Voicestream, back in Wichita, KS.
Offtopic. All I can say is it works fine on the HD2, should do the same on any other device with G-Sensor.

Is this really free? some places the say its free but you need some key gen generator or something.
So whats the real answer and if it is really free where and how do i install it because i have been searching some installation quides but there is no good one.

Garmin Mobile XT is not free. If you are looking for a free GPS Software, you might want to get Google Maps or Bing Maps. Using a keygen to crack software is illegal.

Try MOTONAV. It uses same Igo maps.

For some reason Motonav wouldn't let me enter house number on some streets when latest TeleAtlas map is used. When I try the same street on iGO (with wrong resolution of course) I can enter house number. Any ideas?

Happens to me too. Change the map to some other one...
For now, as far as I know, the ONLY good gps navigation for our Desire is MOTONAV...

I would but Teleatlas maps have best coverage and least mistakes compared to Navteq and Regio (local map maker). At least here.
Before I thought Motonav is equal to iGO (Android version). Too bad it's not true. I hope Nav'n'Go will sort this out soon.
P.S. Is there a working map changer for Motonav? Now I just manually rename map files to switch between them.

I have iGOMyWay_8.4.2.124036 ( not Motonav ) installed on my Desire and working fine. It's not like iGO 8 but better than Motonav.

you have it working on full screen...?

there are iGOMyWay_8.4.2.139242 for the desire out there, mine is full screen and working perfectly, including the speedcam POI's.

Warez is forbidden on xda forums. Go to the official site and buy iGo.

Sorry for mistake because I don't use it any more, but it's iGOMyWay_8.4.2.139242 and not 8.4.2.124036
and I had to install it again .
In my opinion, the iGOMyWay is not near as good as iGO8 which I have on Win.Mobile, so I use CoPilot on Desire.

I have installed igo8 on the desire and it looks ok but I can't use it because the program doesn't respond right to the touch. I touch at one place and it either doesn't respond or something else (a lot higher on the screen) is chosen instead.
anybody knows how to fix this?

there are different versions of igo8. if you download for a smaller or bigger resolution u cant use it. download igo8 480x800

i installed that version. i tried for fun all the others but they were even worse because not only they didn't respond well but they werent full screen.
i know only of one more guy with desire that has the same problem.
