I have made a program for my girlfriend wizard so she can talk with skype using the earpiece instead of the loudspeaker...
It might be useful for others too, use it at your own risk, I do not take responsibilities for any damage made by this program...
It also may work with other phones, it is a matter of trying... of course again, at your own risk.
It is very simple, just run the program before a skype call and then bring it up and press "ok" to close.
If someone knows tha if skype broadcast some sort of message while making a call, please send the information to me so I can make a auto-switching program ;-)
Do not let the program running because you can really mess things around, but nothing serious... just annoying.
standalone exe file, do not sell it!!! it is free!!
Thanks.
Check the new program, at:

Thanks man, I don't need it at the moment, but it is great idea.
this is a fix that a lot of ppl have been waiting for but unfortunately it doesn't work on my tytn 2. is there any way that you can make a universal switch or one for the tytn 2?
can someone use this fix to auto-switch when wm6 voip call is comming in?
This is brilliant, brilliant!!!!
I suggest you repost this as VOIP: Audio redirection to earpierce and hopefully the mods can make this a sticky. This is a problem that has baffled many for long.
I've tested with both Express Talk and WM6 VOIP. However WM6 VOIP has got an issue on my phone where the volume is low with lots of noise. However in both cases, the app redirected the audio to the earpiece. Express talk is crystal clear through the earpiece and is what I'll be using for VOIP calls.
Would you care to elaborate on what issues we can expect if we leave the application running for long?
one small problem is after running this .exe, i am unable to key lock my device. so as i speak over the earpiece of skype i have the tendancy to press buttons (eg. hangup) with my face.

you wont hear your phone ring at all if you leave the device running. all the sounds and notifications that come through the loudspeaker will all now come through the earpiece!
would vibrate still work?
To answer my own question, I tested it and it does! (Well I tested it on my Tilt and it worked)
My own problem now is finding a ROM that works with Skype and Troca2. The one I have now will not use the mic on the phone (whether troca2 is running or not). Either way I am making progress towards my Skype only wizard!
SKYPE and FRING on Sony Xperia X1
Have you managed to make this software automatic??
It may be a good idea if the software would work for FRING and SKYPE only without redirecting ALL the sounds.
Is it possible??
Best
Michael
I am having a issue with audio not coming out as mono on MP3 files will this work for that?
hello,
could you please make this run on WM2003 also ? i need this for my HTC magician.
thank you in advance...

Does it work on X1?
I think WM2003 is too old to run
Code ... maybe?
Hi MarceloFB,
This works great on my Xperia X1 (didn't try it with Skype, just my own VOIP app). ... Also have not tried it on my TytnII, don't even think I'm going to bother, since the TytnII hardware (as far as I know) won't support it.
I would, however, love to just put the API call into my own VOIP app instead of having the extra executable.
I have tried:
waveOutMessage( hWaveOut, /*MM_WOM_FORCESPEAKER*/WM_USER + 2, FALSE, 0 );
... as I thought that was the way to redirect the sound on devices where the hardware supports it, but that does not seem to work.
Would you maybe be willing to let me know what API calls you make in your app?
Regards
Hendrik
Hi ...
.... Nevermind ... got it working .... and on TytnII as well
Perfect
Works fine with Fring, Thanks, any idea why Skype 2.5 Beta crashes on Xperia when trying to make a call?
Works on Hermes
I've been testing express talk: http://www.nch.com.au/talk/index.html and your app reroutes the audio perfectly.
Where do I send beer? I would love a today plugin.

Is it possible to guide us how you changed your API to make it automatic ?
I don't know why nobody continued this thread. It is a big problem for all of WM users .
I have WM 6.1 and still the same problem . Damn Microsoft cannot fix this issue ?
Take a look at the first post, I have made a new program with automatic switch, and need people to test it and give some feedback, I intend to make corrections as bugs appears.
So I have tried numerous VOIP SIP programs but none seem to work fully.. I have gotten some with work fine, but the major problem with those is that there is not wake up when I receive a VOIP SIP call.. this means that I have to force the phone to not go to standby which drains the battery very quickly (WIFI is also running)
Has anyone got a program that fully works?
Have also tried the internet calling feature on the phone itself but there are alot of problems I get with that
I too have yet to find a good solution, did you find one that worked well?
I am also looking for the same.
Still have not found one that will work properly
Isn't voip support included in WinMo? IIRC I almost got it working with my Touch Pro.

I remember hearing somewhere that WinMo natively supports VoIP, but the carriers cripple that feature before selling the phones. There are some hacks to fix that, but the ones I've run across looked complicated and I didn't attempt them. Unfortunately, I don't remember where to find the instructions. Maybe someone who does could post a link.

Did you try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950?
I'll try to set it up later and report.
Im not exactly sure how it ended up on my original build, i think i went to skype.com/m and just downloaded it, but when i do that now (with the new rom) it says "there's no version for your phone"
Is their a way i can get it installed again now that ive flashed a cooked rom? (as i don't see it already in the rom itself.)
As usual, i find the answer soon after making a post.

Problems with Skype mobile
On my phone sky mobile runs only thru loud speaker. Maybe it is a good thing that skype discontinued support for Windows Mobile, no one has to waste time on that crappy thing anymore. I always switch to desktop when I receive or have to make skype calls.
Go to Skype.com and download the .cab file.
can somebody upload the cab file here... skype site is blocked from here, but not the software service... having hardtime to download the cab...thanks in advance
you can still get it from here:
skype (dot) com/intl/en/download/skype/windowsmobile/
but the WM support is according to golem.de deffinetly over now
That's a shame, it was working quite well through a headset...

The download is actually a 10.5MB .exe package, so I can't even zip it up and attach here. If you have e-mail that can accept a file that big, PM me and I'll be happy to get it to you that way
EDIT: I actually have just the .cab too after all...but it's even bigger (11.5MB)

I was really hoping this thread would have said "Hey, skype isn't going through speakerphone anymore on the TP2..." but no such luck. If Skype had no intention of fixing that horrible issue, then I really have no interest in its service on my mobile, anyway. It is disappointing, however, I used to use it on my Blackjack II and it worked great.

But not by itself. You have to use Audioroute (http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware), this program will route any sound either to the earspeaker or backspeaker. Just start it before Skype and you'll be able to use it like doing a regular phonecall.

Thanks, it seems useful, but not really enough. Personally I like to leave Skype active as a second line on the phone... which means I'd have to manually start it before every call (even incoming). If I were to just start it up on occasion to make a call, it'd be an easy Mortscript, but I'll have to see if there is something a little more sophisticated that I can write.
i just used skype today on my TP2 with the sound piped to my bluetooth earpiece. no issue at all and no 3rd party software required

Thanks. Now the only problem is my ear will touch some certain onscreen buttons and get in the way and when I turn the screen off, skype phone conversation stops working. I know a simple earpiece or bluetooth device solves everything but I don't like using neither.
Is there any other way I can turn off the screen and still have a phone conversation on skype?
Ok, so my city recently passed a huge ban on cell phone use while driving. I know I can have my phone reac any new message to me wehn it is received and I currently have it set up to do so. However, I have heard of other phone coming with a speech to text feature. Is there a wway to get something like this on the TPS where I can speak the reply to a text and be able to send it that way?
I don't know of any specific apps that do this, but I'm sure they're out there considering Bling and Google Maps have this technology.
I dont recomend trying to text while driving & dont like applications where you use voice commands but you should try this one
Code:
http://vitotechnology.com/voice2go.html
(not free but you could try the tial) it lets you control your whole phone by voice and you could add custom commands but im not sure if you could set it up to reply to sms.
ps: by the way nice to see another member from el paso

This would be a very cool feature! I am interested in this also. Can anybody help out with this?
microsoft tell me
i had it on my phone ported from i think a samsung device.
it didnt fit too well with the screen resolution and whatnot, but it worked.
although it doesn't work if you have an accent or if you want to send messages to someone who has a rather unusual name
i went to a At&T store for help with something with a friend, he had and still has a verizon blackberry curve but anyways one of the associates there had a blackberry and showed him a whole buch of apps he got from a certian website (dont remember what it was) and one of them was a talk to text app and it work almost perfectly. ive been searcing for an app like that for windows mobile ever since then and that was almost 2 yrs ago!!!! i also just found out a few days ago from my girlfriend that theres a app like that for her iphone. i seriously dont know what microsoft is doin but they need to step their game up and to all the developers out there, you need to beat them to the punch!!!

Didn't pick up on the SMS part. Looking for an app to read/speak email messages(non-SMS). Especially, would be nice to be able to filter by sender, subject, etc.
Ok, so I found a few cabs for TellMe, but they all crash shortly after launching. Any ideas?

I use TellMeText Version 1.1.0 on my Rhodium Touch Pro 2. It installs and works okay. If the installation crashes, the best thing is to redownload it until it works fine. Also try the app on different ROMS.
I have used it on ARK_N's ROMS as well as on Leo Cell ROMS.
Make sure (I think) you install BlondieSoft_MobileCertificates cab prior to the intallation of the TellMeText cab.
Hopefully this should help.
Why not sooner.
If someone can rip the install from the Samsung Intrepid I think we can get something going.
The only other option is Vlingo and it is buggy at best, you can search the forums and people have had spotty success with it.
This could be a real difference breaker at this point in time in the Mobile Phone wars, I don't know why someone hasn't jumped on it and capitalized, tons of apps already use voice recognition (bing, google) for driving directions, I don't know why in a world where people are dieing left and right from txting while driving someone hasn't jumped on this.

The tell me ap works for some and not for others.. I believe it has something to do with the carrier you are with. That said.. you guys are probably better of going over to the tell me thread and reading through that to figure out how to get it working on your phone. I personally gave up. It would install fine on multiple roms I was running and as soon as I would to go speak a text to it it would just hang then give me some error.
Regardless... no sense in having multiple threads about the same thing!
Do a search in the Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps forum and you'll find it.

TellMe does not work for AT&T customers on their network on anything but BlackBerry. I ran a packet trace and the packets leave the phone but there is NO response.
WiFi works fine but how often are you on WiFi on the go?
You need to install microsoft voice command FIRST then this. Just search, the cabs are posted.

No way I have ever found. Without headphones Skype on WM uses speakerphone capabilities only. I waited for Skype to fix this and the way the finally fixed is to drop support for WM all together.
Use this. Just route all audio to main ear piece before you start skype

Skype
I love skype on my winmo, and have used it often. Audio Route IS the answer that i have found, and it does work great.
One issue with Audio Route, is the icon in the taskbar is affected by WIndows Mobile 6.5.5, and the icon shrinks to an almost unuseable state.
Are there any other options besides audio route for routing audio to the earpiece?
Thanks,
Brandon
Wow is this topic really that dead? I would think using skype on oUr windows mobile is still one of the better claims to fame.
So does anyone know of an audio route device that pays well with 6.5.x?

skype?
Hi, i use idialer for googlevoice calls:

works pretty well (need to update your webview.dll file if you have a newer (6.5) rom. But it works for google voice. not sure if it would work with gtalk/skype
