Hi all.
I have searced around and I have found this neat little program.
http://nerdipedia.com/tiki-index.php?page=Sonar+CE
It is a sonar app for WM, but I have problems getting it to work. Can you?
I get a few feedbacks from the mic, but I think it dosnt work because the speaker is on the other side of the phone, than the mic.
Even the sourcecode is released so if any of you are bores, you might get it to work?
Have a nice evening.
the concept is worth a try...though with the speaker and the mike being placed the way it is, i guess it'd be difficult to get the intended results
great software though
Cool app...
did anybody get this working?

Working not, but freezing...
it works on my diamond, but not correctly.. it starts, i can produce sounds, i can record sample sounds and hear them, but when i want to start "sonaring" i hear the beeps but the app doesn't recognize any beep... strange, coz the soundtest works and i can hear what i have said when i play it after recording :-/
When I put in a offset of 30000 it do record something. But only noice. :-/
have you tried to disable the automatic mic. adjustement in the settings?
Boy i was like thinking from the forum heading that an application was made....

Hello All,
I'm a newbie and I wanted to know if there is app any where like Volume Care that allows me to boost the sound of the device? I currently have a T-Mobile Wing.
Thx
Yeah i would like somethin like that to
Wow I'm surprised no one has tackled this one? Is it possible for me to develop something on my own? I have no programming skills but I would be willing to try it out.
yes..i'm interested also
Do you guys want this for the main speaker, handset's ear piece used during
calls or headphone output?

There are multiple threads running on this forum about boosting the volume using the registry. Did you check that out?
Maybe you should ask an admin if there could be a special section for the T-Mobile Wing (HTC Atlas). Keep in mind that a lot of tips and tweaks are already available for similar devices

I would like it for the main speaker personally. I don't think the volume of the handset's speaker is bad. More so I want to hear it when I have an incoming call but I don't think it would hurt to have something that controls all that can be adjusted.

When I do a search nothing seems to come up? If you have some keywords because I might be using the wrong ones, I'll gladly do the grunt work of search for a solution. Thanks

WOW, the main speaker is TOO loud in my case. Maybe your settings are off.
Another fix is making your own ringtones and tailoring the sound for more high
end. I'm sure you noticed how TV commercials ALWAYS seem louder, well it's
how they choose the sound mix do get that "loudness". I make all my
ringtones and they're bloody loud.

Good Idea!
would LOVE to see that....
Would VueFLO be able to tell the difference between tilting the device to the left (when in landscape) and rotating it into portrait?
A really REALLY cool idea though
Less talk and more results !!!
This would be truly a great app to have on the advantage. Anyone out there willing to build this app for us, it would be appreciated to the entire forum.
is it possible....and if so..how..?? doesnt VueFlo..uses manual buttons..can any1 care to explain if its possible or not..buh if it is..then it wud be great

Believe me, If I could, I would.
Some coding god needs to reverse engineer to vueflo apps to work out how the hardware is accessed. After that, any coder can do it just like the iphone/ipod people are all making stuff that uses the accelerometer in them.
Its not an easy task. We need somebody in HTC to leak the details really.
Arya, so you were never able to fix your phone call recording problem? The built-in recorder handles it, I forget now why you were still having a problem. Off-topic, I know, discuss on the original thread.
On-topic, the motion sensor on the hard drive is just that... a motion sensor. Not an orientation sensor (like mercury switches are). Just turning the unit on its side won't let the OS know its now on its side, however, by adding some kind of motion code it will work just fine. Like shaking it twice downward in the direction you want to be down. Shaking it once would produce too many false changes, but twice or maybe 3 times would send the right message.
This type of phone input has been in the news a lot lately, along with vibration as a feedback. The idea on the news is you would shake your phone to see if you have any messages waiting, and it would vibrate back if you do. Unfortunately since the Athena doesn't have a vibration motor the output part isn't possible, but the input part is, since it has the motion sensors already! (the lack of vibration is one of the top-5 flaws of this device, IMO, hopefully it will get added on the X7502)
So, taking the topic of this thread one step further, how about creating an application that launches apps based on motion input? Yes I know there is a program out there that lets you reprogram most of the function buttons to do this (I forget its name at the moment, I haven't bought it yet), but adding motion to this mix would be so much cooler!
shake it baby?
these ideas seam very good but sahaking it multiple times and to open programs seams like it may cause problems because our device is just tooo big, imagine to shake or rotate ur device a specific way to get pie running (maybe it could be shaken to the rythem of ur favourite song (which has to be the Smashing Pumpkins..) and it shakes out of your hand on to the concrete pavement below wooops!!! just imagine the insurance form for that
Well, the unit's motion sensitivity is quite high. Easily confirmed by changing the viewflo sensitivity to high and then gently tilting the unit when you are in a browser. You wouldn't have to create martinis or milkshakes to launch an app, just a gentle flick or two will do. A downside of all this is carrying it around would present problems (either on your belt or in your hand). Even if you ignore the g-sensors when the cover is on, the cover-on switch is so faulty you might get to work and find that you wired $150 Euros to the Red Cross and sent all your checking account information to some guy in Nigeria.

1 reason of many i can think of is Iphone look alike
Hi, i'm interested in an iphone-like app too.
I still can't understand why HTC inserted a hardware which can handle with orientation, and then it's only possible to use scolling in PIE or Opera.
Why not Scrolling in PIE AND Opera. I love this feature, and want it always and for other apps too, like Rotate Screen automaticly, skip music file or backwards in WMP, Forward/backward in PIE/Opera when moved left/right.
I don't unterstand this. The difficult part is the integration of hardware, and HTC didn't develop a simple app which makes the hardware really do what it is supposed to do.
I even don't believe they added the G-Sensor for the Microdrive.
nothing new?
even with the new softwares incluede in devices such as Omnia or Diamond?
Hello,
Need following software that I could not find:
1. Call conversation recorder (tried Resco won't work properly - almost impossible to hear the person you are talking with, I suppose it uses microphone to record, isn't there any internal way to do it?)
2. ****list software to block calls and messages from unwanted numbers.
My machine is HTC Touch Cruise, Windows Mobile 6.0 Pro
Much obliged in advance for any clues.
Oooooh exotic! Haha.
Use "Call Firewall" (search google) for blocking calls. For recording calls you are most likely out of luck on Pocket PC. Haven't seen a good one come across the forum yet. Anyone care to prove me wrong?
You can use the notes function built in to WM6 and record it from there... Bad quality but does the job...

I know that, you gotta push and hold that damn button all the time and that is not that easy and most uncomfortable :|
in the US some states is illegal to record phone calls and other voice recordings unless you get consent from the other party. maybe that's why they didnt put it into the phone. may be some legal issues they didnt wanna deal it and be liable for.
No... During a call, you can press the notes button within the phone app and then hit record in there. I'll post some screen shots if you want...
I live in Europe, Lithuania, so it doesn't concern me whatsoever

Very uncomfortable I should say, I was looking for much more automatized software, at least Resco adds date, number and some other info I suppose. And by the way does it work if you're talking with bluetooth headset on? I guess not...

I doubt it...
Resco Audio Recorder automatically records phone calls (I remember because I didn't know it was on, so I filled up my storage with phone recordings).
However, it is quiet because on most WinMo hardware, you can't record incoming voice. It's quiet because it's recording from the mic (where you talk into), which I guess picks up a bit of sound from the speaker (where you listen when you talk). Maybe try talking on speakerphone all the time? Haha, I'm sure that won't work in a business setting, but it's something.
can "Call Firewall" block messages (SMS) as well? I guess not. And that is even more important for me. Anyone knows software with this function?

hi,
does anyone know software for windows mobile devices that make it act like a megaphone. or would this be easy to make ? input = magnified output or something ?
does not sound that hard.
but i have been looking on google and searched on several ppc software sites.
w/o any promising results.
its just for fun.
and dont say: 'BUY AN MEGAPHONE' pls
Thanks in Advance.
Jack.
I'm certain that you can yell louder than the maximum output level of the speaker on the phone. At any level, that may even be remotely close to louder than you could yell, there will be so much distortion from the device that it would be nothing more than noise.
Now if you had asked about a voice changing app. That may be fun if it could even be activated while on calls.
That is till you answer your phone with the female voice when your wife calls.
you got a point there about the maximum lvl of the speaker. lol
and i dont realy think those voice chaning app's work that good.
they come with my creative sound card.
some voices are changed quite good. others are not
thx anyway. you made this topic useless
Don't even think of it. At the very least the microphone will sense the amplified output and there will be a fading echo. In the worst case echo will be amplified up to the point where all you hear is a painfully loud high-frequency tone.

true, you can have a recorder, but altering it would be difficult- lets remember you might not want to be using a voice changer all the time..a recorder records sounds but doesnt alter it

HA!! I loved call cheater on my Nokia.. Can't count the number of times I left work late and used the traffic jam background as I called the wife at 90+ MPH. "Yea stuck in traffic again."
Well, the HTC phones(or manufactured for other carriers) ain't supporting the in-line audio function ( which is a hardware feature), due to which I suppose you can't play background sound during call. Because of this the answering machine functionality doesn't work, which you find in the nokia's symbian based phones. Some phone of Gigabyte has this functionality & I hope in near future HTC looks into implementing it.
If you want answering machine functionality on ppc then you can try iSecretary 4.5. But remember it will route the audio through the loudspeaker, which might annoy you sometimes.

the windows mobile standard have that app. as conversations recorder are hundreds but I use PMRECORDER and it will be fun have such a app to add a background sounds to a conversations
its not as stupid as you might think
megaphones can be pretty loud, but for the most part are no louder than a human voice, the point of a megaphone is to talk into it and your voice amplified so you can shout without straining your voice.
obviously a phone speaker wont match your standard megaphone speaker but you should be able to amplifiy your voice with your phone.
not really practical but it is doable.

Voice scrambler 'd be nice just to speak silently into the PDAs' mic and the voice would come loud and scrambled from the speaker (i need that for my mafia job )
I think there was something like this for the nGage.
Try to google that-maybe they did something similar for our ppc's!?
I would actually like such a program, but I wouldn't use it with the phone's speaker, I'd use it when connected to a speaker system. Say your at your party and you want to speak to everyone without yelling your lungs out, you simply plug your speaker system into the the phone, and everyone will be able to hear you. I know the Iphone has an app like this, so there has to be someone with WM coding skill to write a program like this. It's a simple concept: get audio data from the microphone and immediately give output through the headphone jack.

As long as Android doesn't provide the necessary API's, you won't find a decent solution.
