Qtek ROM and UK Radio stack

Anyone tested Qtek Rom 3.16 and O2 Radio Stack 4.16 together?
/Marcus
Hi, i am using QTEC Radio stack 3.9 and Dutch ROM 3.15.15 together without any problems, if this helps?
Qtek ROM 3.14 and Radio 4.16
Yeah, I intsalled Radio version 4.16 and after that tried to install the new ROM 3.14.17 ENG but the installer simply would not work... no errors nothing... just vanishes after saying it was getting device info?!?!?? So now I have ROM 3.14.06 ENG working with Radio version 4.16... God knows how I can get the latest ROM installed on my Qtek 1010 and where to find the stuff on the net. MYXDA.com need you to enter the IMEI number and mine is no O2 XDA Anyone on this one?
I've tried this now, works fine.
I downloaded the Radiostack upgrade from O2.
They accepted mine IMEI code anyway.
hi guys
did anyone try to upgrade Radio Rom 4.16 with the following:
ROM Version: 3.16.13 ENG
Radio Version: 3.19.01
I mean i was reading that you upgraded the Radio ROM only and it worked fine but the versions you mentioned are diffrent then mine and tell me if your having problem with 4.16 ...
thanks
PS: while installing did it ask you to replace old files with new one or something like that
:?:
I have upgrade to UK versions the radio stock updated but the radio unit give me error and now I have 3.16.13 ENG and 4.16.00
I test the phone it seems working fin.
Any idea so I can update the unit??

o2 Rom version

My xda information are as follows:
ROM version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM date: 01/27/05
Radio version: 1.00.00
Protocol version: 1337.39
ExtROM version: 1.11.162 WWE
Why is it that vodafone qtek is using a radio version of 1.03, protocol version of 1337.42 and ExtROM version of 1.11.162 WWE.
Does it means that o2 is not having the latest version? I tried downloading the latest version from my-xda.com and it seems mine was the latest. So where did u guys download the latest from?
do a search there is a update on this site ,in a bit of a rush so can't at the mo
i know there are updates here, but where were those upgrades from? Since o2 itself did not provide such version.
So does it means that my o2 rom uk can function well in asian countries too?
It was a ROM I mashed together. Have a look at this thread, there's the links you need off it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=27498
Impossible to upgrade extended rom. The process stop for one rom at 29% and for other at 35%. Here, after a long wait, I have to reset the Alpine. When the ugrading process stoped at 35% I can not use my Alpine cause at boot it try to run the programs fo extended rom that are corrupted. When stoped at 29% after rese I can run my ALPINE which in device information shows extend rom "blank".
Anyone had this annoying problem? Now I have ram space ocupied by extended rom files that don't work?
I want to get rid of these unuseful files but system don't permit me to delete them. Or I want to install/upgrade a extended rom. Any Help???
Thank you

New O2 XDA2i Rom - Radio Upgrade?

I have just downloaded the new official O2 XDA2i ROM and noticed that although it upgrades the device from 1.11.162 to 1.11.169 AND gives Blackberry functionality, it still uses the old outdated 1.00.00 Radio version?
Why?? I am currently running a 2i with Pugs Modded rom with 1.11.162 and Radio 1.03, although I have now seen a 1.04 version.
Is there any chance of doing a new modded ROM with the 1.11.169 Rom, Blackberry AND
Radio 1.03 or 1.04?
Just a thought....
Dazzer
hi bazzer
blackberry doesnt run with the radio 1.04. stick with pug's rom version its very stable!!
Says who, I upgraded the radio 1.04 yesterday and blackberry works fine!
So is it possible to just install the latest O2 rom 1.11.169 version which downgrades the radio back to 1.00.00 and THEN upgrade the radio somehow?
I am thinking of just keeping Pugs modified rom with 1.11.162 and upgrade the radio to 1.04 to replace the 1.03 radio it has now. I don't technically need blackberry but I would like the latest O2 rom anyway...
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Darren

Im im sure blackberry doesn't work with radio 104
it comes up on the BES as illegal pin might load thats about it
you will find that your blackberry server is not forwarding any email to your handheld after radio 104
i did test on all the radio stacks and only radio 1.0.0 works with blackberry and it is very unsable
If you need blackberry and need to use radio v 1.0.0 do the following
do a rom upgrade removing the extended rom from the directory
this means no other software is installed and bluetooth is now stable
if not bluetooth doesn't work at all using heasets
the way to upgrade only your radio is to remove the rom and ext-rom from you upgrade directory and only leave the radio rom
this works a treat

You may find OS ROM and Extended ROM of Qtek 1.6.7.1 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37386
Or someone to put it to FTP...
I posted it already, check for details in the aWizard thread in one of the forums. At any rate, here are the links and anyone is welcome to upload it ot the FTP
http://www.richardgoodwin.com/Qtek_9100_1_6_7_ENG.zip
http://www.richardgoodwin.com/Qtek_9100_1_6_7_ENG_Extended_ROM2.zip
Note that it doesn't contain radio firmware, etc. It is just the OS and ROM2.
In return I ask for your comparison in terms of speed, included apps, stability, etc. versus your current version. Reply to forum and/or email [email protected]
Hey can anyone who has upgrade can tell us if any improvements over the older rom iam dieing to know
I have done the upgrade with the new Qtek ROM, and notice what seems to be a pretty decent speed increase... of course a hard reset was involved, so it will take a couple of days of use to know if it's the hard reset or the rom that helped.
I flashed the Dutch T-Mobile Vario rom first to upgrade the antenna firmware, then used the process listed in the other forums to update the main ROM.
The extended ROM has some sort of new protection that keeps it from being deleted. After turning the device on upon completed upgrade I had to do a soft reset within 3 seconds to keep the Dutch Vario extended rom from installing. I loaded the Qtek WWE extended ROM cabs to my memory card and installed them all by hand and everything seems fine.
I was pleased to see that the voice activation on a bluetooth headset now wakes up my phone when in standby. Previously I had to turn on my device before pushing the voice activation on my headset for it to work. Trying to bluetooth files from my Mac to a sleeping phone still failed and required me to wake it up first.
I'm pleased so far and hope the speed holds out. The Imate WWE ROM killed the speed of my device.
Someone mentioned the signal dropping out periodically after the upgrade, but I have yet to notice that. I'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know
Now if I could just figure out why my GPRS suddenly stops responding
I don't think it's ROM specific, as I have heard many complaining. It's damned annoying though and makes me want to sell it (If I do, I'll post here Probably $650 USD).

Report for new ROM
I've upgraded my ROM to 1.6.7.1 WWE and installed Radion 01.12.10.
I would say it works better than with 1.1.7 WWE (ship version at FTP). Little smoother. Radio module is better now - after SR it finds network much quicker. EDGE icon works perfect.
The latest official version of SPb Pocket Plus 3 works great with the device
The only thing i miss is Profiles for the device (set of sound settings, vibrate and phone settings).
Hi where did u get that version for dopod 838? mine is still the original rom 1.3.13.5 ENU. where can i get the WWE version? i checked out www.dopodasia.com and nothing abt upgrades? is it english version? thanks.

ahlok_hk and others,
could you give us a link from a site to download the latest radio version? And is it paramount to flash first the radio and then OS/extOS?

Where was this "released"?
Here. It's the german support website, but I thought that o2 provided it to all other customers as well.
thanks,
its a pity it is not an English ROM - that would have been zweet!
RUU_signed.nbh is dated 17 March... Really intriguing... Could this be real WM6.1?

Knowing O2 it is likely to be a badly put together cooked ROM that is waaaaaaaaay surpassed by Bepe's.
BEPE IS KING OF THE ORBIT 2 ROMS!!!
It was posted today, because i was yesterday on the site and they did not have the update, i will installed when i come home, I'm in the office

In your opinion.
So, I installed it.
On startup it shows
R 1.58.24.14
G 25.69.30.05H
D 1.28.00.00
It's CE OS 5.2.1623 (Build 18129.0.4.5)
So nothing revolutionary.
Sascha
any clue of video performance improoved?
Apparently it's just a minor maintenance update fixing various smaller problems e.g. with the radio. Another improved area are handovers when roaming nationally (since Germany's o2 uses the T-Mobile network in some areas). In the linked forum (german) a comparison of the old and new version is given:
New:
ROM Version: 1.28.207.2 GER
ROM Datum: 02/25/08 (ROM Date)
Funkempfängerversion: 1.58.25.14 (Radio Version)
Protokoll Version: 25.69.30.05H (Protocol Version)
Old:
ROM Version: 1.24.207.2 GER
ROM Datum: 12/06/07
Funkempfängerversion: 1.58.21.23
Protokoll Version: 25.65.30.04H
Video performance presumably remains unchanged and from what I could gather so far, this update did excite absolutely nobody..
Hmm, wasn't the 1.58.25.14 Radio the one which caused
most troubles with the Bluetooth dies, not connecting to WLAN and
others. Thought I had seen something in several threads, and
most did not recommend to use this one and better use the
1.64.08.21 And now it is used in official
upgrade ?! Hmm, maybe the same as with the Murata Radio...
Same build no., other content?

This is not exactly true. The Murata Radio read 1.58.21.23 on my Polaris whereas I remember the original Radio to be 1.58.23.21. So apparently the Murata Radio is older than the Radio the Polaris initially shipped with, at least the o2 Xda orbit 2 version from the companys German offspring.

Nope, original radio ist 1.58.21.23
Sascha
I DO have .23.21...
Also earlier, I got confused when giving people Radio-ROM recommendations because I recommended .23.21 (which was my original) and I usually got answers asking me if I meant .21.23. Over time, this was very confusing, now with the new Radio I checked and I do have .23.21.

Never heard about a .23.21 version
But... anyway, this doesnt affect the circumstance, that the
new one (.25.14) is exactly the one, you claimed, to make problems
with reception, WiFi and so on. And now it's official O2 radio

Now it's time for me try some cocked ROMs
I bought my orbit2 a month ago.
Now that there is a official ROM available for the guarantee cases.
It's time for me to try some of the cocked roms here!!
Finally, I can turn my Orbit 2 into English version!!
Any suggestions about good cocked ROM that I should start with.
